Rashmi, Eternities Crafter Oversight?

What does Rashmi has do to anything with things that "care about how many supports there are in play". ?
Since most of the "cares about how many supports there are in play" deck builds revolve around Tamiyo's Journal, or Fabricate supports with one shield, any match including those gems kills that support. Since it also cascades and get 4+ matches pretty well, it can clear out a lot of the supports in play pretty quickly.0 -
I pulled two more copies of Rashmi, Eternities Crafter. Got two big boxes of Kaladesh, and got 78 common, 39 uncommon, 4 rare, and 2 mythic (both Rashmi, Eternities Crafter) duplicates. I did get some good pulls, but almost nothing I was hoping to get.0

How are you guys doing this lol.
I've opened a few more boxes since and still don't have him.0 -
I cannot pull an Inner Struggle to save my life.0

How does rashmi help cascades? She isnt giving mana to those cards you are fetching.. also rashmi is utterly unneeded to generate cascades in green. Green is the master of cascades anyway. And there are not the right cards in non green, blue decks that would create cacscades with rashmi unless you have harness.... in which case rashmi is not needed anyway.0 -
Been trying to find a use for her, and all I can come up with is maybe she's good for Garruk or Nissa since green card draw is weak. Maybe for the next Ajani when Aether Revolt launches too?0

Her mana ability lets you pop off cheap gem conversion spells without matching any, which increases the chances of cascades. Once you have that going, her triggered ability to fetch a like spell frequently ends up getting cast too off the mana from the previous spell resolving and cascading.
Are you sure you're talking about the same card as everyone else? This is the description for Rashmi, Eternities Crafter: "When you cast a spell, support or creature, Fetch the next card in your library."0 -

I think I'm starting to see it. You would need a planeswalker with strong green mana gains who can use a lot of spells, so maybe Garruk.
You have her out, you cast Fertile Thicket, it converts gems and she draws you a card. The mana there casts Natural Connection which draws you another card and then allows you to cast Attune with Aether. Something like that?
Question is besides chaining ramp spells, what do you do with her?0 -
edit: Ohboy and a couple of other people nailed it. Wonder if it was his deck in the Nissa deck building challenge?0

I have run Kiora, and Nissa with this idea. In my current Kiora build, I run:
Creature:
Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper (1st)
Rashmi, Eternities Crafter (2nd)
Gem Spells: (Priority to play spells)
Animist's Awakening (3rd)
Attune with Aether (2nd)
Natural Connection (1st)
Control Spells: (Priority to play spells)
Anchor to the Aether (2nd)
Gone Missing (3rd)
Imprisoned in the Moon (1st)
Support:
Brain in a Jar
Utility:
Nissa's Revelation
Basically, the play order is:
1st - Setup gem spells to get Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper out either casting from hand, or from Kiora's second ability. Play Brain in a Jar while waiting to draw Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper, or charge up Kiora's second ability.
2nd - Setup gem spells to get Rashmi, Eternities Crafter out either casting from hand, or from Kiora's second ability. Play Brain in a Jar while waiting to draw Rashmi, Eternities Crafter, or charge up Kiora's second ability. Ideally, Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper should come out first, then Rashmi, Eternities Crafter on the same turn, and have gem conversion spell ready to cast in hand after Rashmi, Eternities Crafter.
2.5nd - Try getting Brain in a Jar out here if it isn't already. Usually it comes out prior to creatures, which is fine, but it really takes off at this point.
3rd - Setup spells to bounce opponent's creatures, and convert gems as needed, using Kiora's first ability prior to making any matches, and always prioritizing blue matches (even over 4+ matches in green), then combo/cascade matches over green matches.
4th - Long game time. Its rare that your hand will be anything less than 3-5 cards, but play Nissa's Revelation to refill your hand/health here. If you need neither, pitch it to make room for gem conversion, control cards, and creatures.
Strategy:
- Card order is important. Play gem conversion spells, then control spells, then creatures, utility spells, and support.
- At the start of your turn, move creatures to the last slot(s) in your hand so they have the highest chance of getting cast, and pitch n+1 control spells (where n=number of opponent's creatures). Its good to have one control spell on standby.
- Play control spells first only if the boardstate is bad for matches, you cannot use Kiora's first ability, and there is a big threat you need to remove.
Play Imprisoned in the Moon first, then use either Anchor to the Aether, or Gone Missing to bounce the token.
- Prioritize planeswalker gem matches and combo/cascade matches over off color matches. Kiora's abilities add so much gas to this build.
Considerations:
Swell of Growth: Costs 6, converts 3 gems to green, and buffs a creature. Ideally, Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper.
Haunted Cloak: Value! Costs 1, gives target creature Vigilance, Haste and Trample.
Lumbering Falls: Gives +3/+3 and Hexproof to your first creature until end of turn, and happens a lot with all the matching. Strictly better than Corrupted Grafstone. But its a support, so it doesn't trigger Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper, and will get matched away pretty fast.
Ulvenwald Hydra: Converts gems to green upon entering, 3 more every turn there after, and has "When a player matches 3 or more Green gems, this creature gains +2/+2."0 -

That's similar to what I was thinking, but since I was looking at Garruk, I had forgotten about Noyan Darr. I was thinking Ulvenwald Hydra, Managorger Hydra and Elvish Visionary as creatures to keep up the trigger on spells cast and gems converted.0 -

Or add Days Undoing instead of Rashmi and have a blast.
As i said, such Noyan Dar decks have been made before and work more effectively with that one.0 -
Now now, maybe it was just an oversight and shes supposed to cost 3 mana.... I think I might use her for 3 mana.....0

I went back to revisit this thread. Some of you guys nailed it. Dude, she's a beast!
I didn't think to try Noyan Dar, but that might work. I prefer UHydra because it helps to trigger more cascades, but I might have to try that.
Here are videos of it in action. Feel free to check out my Youtube page in my signature for more insanity with Arlinn and Kiora.
