Don't do that. I'm from Singapore so that would definitely be a disaster.
That's why I call it the nuclear solution. It's not really in the cards. The spam isn't bad enough that I can't usually keep up with it which means it'll be a blink for it to get taken care of with more mods around.

    More mods? Where? When? Who?!

Fitted kitchons are high-end, cost-effective solutions for the discerning customer, for the type of person who thinks "I need to eat, and I should get some food."

Make no mistake, fitted kitchons are quite different from the uncreative, excessively durable, mass-market, piecemeal, reconstituted, cellulose-based food-assembly travesties that most people mistakenly believe are "kitchons." No, fitted kitchons become an extension of your very soul, an expression of who you are. We here at Fitted Kitchons LLCCCP pride ourselves on letting you choose one of four kitchon options that expresses exactly who you are. We believe that food should be enjoyed, not simply consumed. Food should be crafted, not simply made. Fitted kitchons. For the discerning customer.

The really annoying thing is that these guys aren't really fully stoppable without going nuclear. They are real live humans, not bots. So updated captchas or the like won't stop them, or else it'd stop everyone. They use dozens of email services and randomly generated real world name/object email addresses. They post via various completely separate IPs, so an IP ban wont work. Some boards have made it so that the first few posts need to be approved, but since it's a real person they jus go through the rigamarole before getting themselves banned. It's the human element that's the rough part here. Some guy or gal is working for pennies somewhere to sit there and make accounts and spam forums 24/7. Ugh.

Minimum amount of posts (5 or 10) posts in other threads before you can create your own thread

    Bam

Won't completely stop them, but it's a pretty decent deterrent
Doesn't work. You end up with semi-sensical posts in various threads that make enough sense not to kill 'em at the outset. Then comes the spam. Read a couple forums that have tried that with these spammers. The *best* strategy is to ban all of APNIC which'll get rid of most of it, but it also means that no one in all of Asia and some of the Middle East can't use the forums. Ick.

    TWO HUNDRED MINIMUM POSTS.

Honestly, I like the rule solely because it makes new people look around for a commonly asked question before being like "Why can't I 5/5/5 Storm?!"

Wait, you can't type kitchen? Solely because of spam?
This is outrage! I demand to be able to brag about my glorious kitchen to all and sundry!
(And if you actually can type kitchen this will be embarrassing.)

Edit: Oooooooooh so that's what it is. That's a way better filter than tinykitty, in my opinion, except that it's a little long.
I should have guessed that's why everyone was saying kitchen.

What if you make it so that the CAPTCHA is something only a MPQ player would know? For example:

-Which hero do you team up with in the Oscrop mission "Time for some answers"?
-How many goon-only missions are in the chapter "Dark Avengers"?
-Which hero is shown on the very front of the "Heroic ** or better" button?
    Etc.

Easy for someone with the game to figure out, tough for someone who has to spam 10k threads a day to research each time.

This is actually a really good idea! I mean, it would be a little annoying to keep one's game open all the time in case one needs to post something while browsing the forums, but the removal of spam would far outweigh that!

Could just be only for posters with less then 5-10 posts
    -edit-
An alternative idea would be that forum accounts would have to be "activated" by your unique game ID#
And if you came to the forums from an in-game link it could auto fill that for you.
For convince sake it would be a one time deal.

It would have to be something that any user knows but isn't Google-able or it wouldn't work. That's a rough one. Mission names are all on the wiki, none of the text can be questions cause it's all out there.

    The question I have is....

Why spam a F2P mobile game thread with stuff about fitted kitch.ens? This can't be there target audience. You would think they would be more successful spamming forums related to QVC or Pinterest.

Yeah it's been a while since I've seen him on here so late. Think he just loves us.

Or he can't sleep because he's having nightmares about fitted kitchens and Bag People.

Well it rules out kotchens and k.i.t.c.h.e.n.s and kit-cohens and so on. K appears 0.7% of the time and c 2.7% of the time. After a k there is about a 20% chance of a c falling in the next 6 characters. That gives us a 20% x 0.7% or 0.14% false positive chance. If that is too high we can remove the first two characters after k from our calculation as we expect it to be kit. Checking the next four for a 'c' gives us only a 12% chance reducing false positives to 0.084%.

Now because it has to occur twice, it reduces false positives to 0.084% squared. Which is almost the chance of not pulling a cap cover from a heroic or event token.

    Edit: had too many zeroes
