Thank god I only need 19K from the last sub then.

I too am finding my scaling off on this event. Its raised at least 20 levels from the norm. My max character is 200 and yet my hardest fight hit 303 today! My first ever introduction to the "Hard" bracket of fight.

Could anyone in an earlier slice confirm that the free cover is still the Invisibility Purple cover?

Hope next pve is much less of a hilarious clusterf*** than this has been. Hilarious.

Update for when I hit progression. I generally play to hit all trivials 6x, all other nodes 4x (all major rewards). Subs were getting 1.5x as much or so.

    Sub 1: 13K
    Sub 2: 18K
Sub 3: progression hit after 6x all trival, 1x first two hard nodes, 4x Essential CP node (4*), 3x final wave node, 2x essential wave node (3*)

...so it does look like you pretty much needed 4x everything (or more) to hit progression, but it wasn't 5x/6x.

I've pulled ~22K out with that clear, will get 25+ out of the sub pretty easily.

Venom bomb seems to have been toned down significantly. Check out the thread in general discussion.

Available points are also up in the third sub. Here are the node values:

    Loaner node
    Dropping By 400
    Easy nodes
    HAMMER's Revenge 200
    Return Engagement 320
    Terrible Combo 440
    Hard nodes
    Kingpin of Slime 500
    Call Me, Maybe? 620
    Case Closed 2072
    Essentials
    2* Essential 740
    3* Essential 1680
    4* Essential 860

EDIT: deleted statement which was probably not correct

Thanks. So my updated spreadsheet looks like this :

    jIYjrJJ.png

11624 points is a lot to make up if you don't have Howard. Glad I skipped.

FYI with Howard and 4 clears of each 4* essential, the deficit is 3884 which isn't too bad at all.

So now that we've seen all the updated points available:

    - if you have Howard and only did 4 clears a day, you only had to hit a few of sub 3's nodes a 5th time to pass progression.

    - if you do (/did) 5 clears a day on any kind of schedule, even if you didn't have Howard the first two days and pick(ed) up the free cover in sub 3, that total still ends up around 55k. (11.5k + 16k + 27.5k)

I hope this doesn't become the new normal -- I think the more forgiving max progression totals are great for the community -- but this was not an impossible total to hit.

I really liked the relax 3x to hit progression, very nice and easy - you could get progression almost before the last sub in 3 days (and well before in longer PVE's). Maybe that's what they didn't like.

What I haven't liked is the increasing points in each sub. I guess that might have been good in the old formats - let people catch up. But If the whole point is you have to hit everything more than 3x (and basically hit every sub), there isn't much reason to have points increasing: leave the points flat throughout the event.

Isn't the point of increasing points from sub to sub a mechanism to allow people who missed a day to catch up though?

I updated the OP to reflect the new point values and the different cover for the Howard rewards. It's too late to help anyone this time around, but if they don't change the points/format again, it would be useful for next time they run this event. Thanks to all who helped compile the new point data.

Even with the crazy scaling and progression, this event is still one of my favorites. It's just so goofy of a story...

My 1/0/1 Howard the Duck just took out the Kingpin (LVL 320) and two Thugs (LVL 319) in his essential node thanks to Invisibility tile damage. X-Force Wolverine and 4-star Deadpool were both taken out before Kingpin was below 10K health, thanks to some wonderful cascades after Muscle tiles from Maggie Pawns appeared. Invisibility tiles kept chipping away, 28 points per tile per turn. Once I killed Kingpin off, the thugs couldn't match them. About 15 minutes after I started it, Howard the Duck won the fight.

I think the hardest fight was Two symbiotes and Dock ock - until I started using captain marvel to destroy protect tiles.

I think that used to be the point - but obviously the point they are trying to emphasize now is you aren't hitting every sub you aren't going to hit progression. So now there isn't much "catch-up" time, it might be a step to try to prevent late slice sniping.

If you have to hit every sub for progression, why keep in a mechanic that benefits some folks that miss the first sub but penalizes others that miss the last sub? (miss here being anything from "miss completely" to "can't make optimal grind")

I thought the point was to allow people to start late, not randomly miss a sub.

This assumes progression totals will remain high(er).

It's only been 3 events. 2 of them have been "new character" releases (for Howard and SpW), and the third was a re-run of a special character event that had only run once before. I'm not ready to deem this "obvious" just yet.

Until these last three events, having a higher progression for new releases was not part of the "new" PVE (not sure what else to call it). The Wasp release in Heart of Darkness didn't have a higher progression. While you're right it's probably too early to say anything is obvious, when it appears that the only undeniable benefit of the new PVE may go away so quickly, I get why people are grumbling. Without that, it just trades a 8-hr timer for a 24-hr one...

I'd much rather have to deal with the symbiotes using the green AP; having Doc Ock smack your team with Armed and Dangerous every three turns is no fun at all.
