Another reason to announce early..... There are a lot of people with 3* champs but nowhere obvious to go. Too many 4's and now 5's make covering them very difficult for those who don't already have some champed 4's at minimum. I think many people who achieve their 3* goal stop playing, especially newer players aka anyone who is about 1 1/2 years or less. Announcing things early keeps more people around who are considering quitting. Also, there are multiple posts of people who stopped playing lately for a vacation Etc and not coming back. The Devs are trying to combat the hopeless feeling they have created for the poor masses. I am close to champing all 3's because I have no 4 to work on....one (Falcap) at 10 covers, some others at 9 or 8. And as a 3'er I can't really hit top scores in PVP. So I estimate an average 15-17 legendary pulls a month with heavy PVE play....with a constantly diluting pool of characters. Today I pulled my 6th X23! Woohoo! My 3rd in 4 months....maybe next year I can start selling her covers when she has 11 or 12 and I keep pulling purples (3 of those, so prob my next 3 covers for her...).
Bring on ANY improvement and I will be happy (cautious optimism).0 -

As one of those 3* people, kind of disagree. The Champion system is doing a good job of supplimenting the random cover pulls, both together are looking like they may get me there. Got 18 more 3*s to champ though so I'm a ways off hitting a wall.0 -
A tiered reward system is exactly what the game needs, IMO. It sounds great in concept.
But... "Late Fall". That's technically December. It could be four months from now. It seems a little early to tout something like that. I don't know how the development process works, but four months is putting the cart before the horse in just about any industry outside space exploration.0 -
I guess its hard finding the sweet spot of pre-info before implementation - too early and there's too much speculation and expectation; too late and the players feel blindsided and not communicated with. but as many things that have been dropped on us, seemingly last minute, I won't complain about some info ahead of time. of course this isn't much info, but its something.0

The fact that 5* rosters enjoy the same ISO rewards as 1* rosters is such a skewed reward structure it's rubbing up against 'broken'; I think this announcement is admitting as much. Of course they have to tread lightly as borking the game economy could literally put them out of a job. The most they can responsibly do in the short term is acknowledge the issue while working towards a solution.0

So from what it says this looks like the first real feature to get players to level their rosters and not consistently hold back. The better your roster the better rewards you can get. The real question is how will this be implemented. Will 4* and 5* rosters get double ISO? Will 4-5* rosters get placed into PVP with each other for 4* rewards? Also how will the new system trigger will it go by I have X number of championed 4* to be in the top tier or will it be overall levels on characters.
I am interested in seeing how this rolls out and I hope it is better then the bundle package, i mean VIP system.0 -

I just hope it doesn't mean "Oh look, you have six championed 4*s! That meas you're Gold tier! Aren't you lucky? Have fun fighting the awesome new Gold tier enemies! (minimum level 250, maximum level 450). All new gold level prizes! (Critical boosts have gone from 3 per prize to 6!) and Gold Tier tokens!! (Average change of drawing a 4* up from 2% to 2.2%)"

I'm being a miserable grump but I'm determined to stay positive. I have absolutely no problem with being proven completely wrong here. Laugh away at my bitterness when the new stuff rolls out and it turns out that your minimum prize at my theorised gold tier is a 3*, but you're more likely to get 4*s and maybe 5*s. Even better if ISO accellerates the higher you climb, like for example you start out with ISO dropping at the current in-game rate at bronze tier (1-2* level), but silver tier gets 2x (2-3* level), gold gets 3x (3-4*), diamond gets 4x (4* and onwards) and so on. Rough numbers, natch.
I'm rooting for you Demiurge. Make this good! Make it substantial and make it something we can all relax into and enjoy...instead of lament at the missed opportunity.

After reading the i game message with a bit more scrutiny, I actually think a big part of this feature is the tiered reward system that I had heard rumors about being worked on last fall.
Hopefully the higher tiers will have 4 star rewards in progression finally.
You know that thing how players with newbie rosters can rank higher than players with veteran rosters in the same bracket because their scaling is easier?
I bet after this goes live, that won't happen anymore.0 -

Well, they could make different ladders per S.H.I.E.L.D. Rank (or group of ranks). That way, lower rank players have a chance to end in the top50 again (which appears to have become impossible since the last update) and gain nice rewards appropriate for their level. Since the last update, no matter how much I play a PvE event and how many completions I have, I usually end around spot 350 (with the associated hopeless rewards). That doesn't help developing my 2*/3* roster at all. And showing me that I can win some nice 3*s if I end t100, but not actually giving me the opportunity to make it to the t100, just isn't right.
And while I agree that a 2* player should not be able to end T50 at the cost of someone who has all his 4*s maxed, it would be great if that 2* player had a ladder of his own, among similarly leveled players, where he does have a chance to gain the top rewards appropriate for his level.
So I hope that, after the introduction of the S.H.I.E.L.D. ranks, something like this will be introduced as well.0 -

While we're at it, can you please make some different gameplay feature available? Like "all 4* PVP" where you can only use 4* characters? Same with "all 3*" or something? I would love to be able to switch up my current PVP gameplay from "5* Jean, 5* OML, required 3*". Gets stale real quick.0

I know everything can change and devs are probably still finishing everything, but if you could give us a better approximation than "late fall" of when everything is going to be released released, or how it will be released (everything at the same time? or deployed in steps?) would be really cool. I keep thinking about this. There are lots of ways you could do this, but it is somewhat hard to find a (fair) way that ISO hoarding would help [Unfair: your "vet" level goes up every time you level a character].
It could simply look at the number of levels you have on your roster - this would encourage everyone to champion all the 2*'s and 3*'s. But it would probably also encourage lots of level 70 one-cover 3*'s to scam the system, maybe only look at levels past 150 so 3*'s would have to be leveled to make it matter - therefore putting you in "vet" status?
I've been wondering if it is another "reset" so everyone has an "even" chance - but with tokens, new applied covers opened = extra rank levels or something. I wonder this because I wonder if I should hoard Heroics again, obviously this would really help those who have tons of tokens stockpiled.
But then they could get around this with another thing that has been long needed - new token types! Just like when tacos reset and the old ones worked in the old way, the new tokens could have the different draw percentages and they could add the guaranteed 3* token they've long needed.0
