You got a hop to 1100 in you?
Of course. If I wasn't going for that 1100 cover, I wouldn't have hopped to 1089. icon_cool.gif I only need the alliance LT cover.

If you wanna hit me, wait at least 40 min, por favor. I'm gonna hop in 20 min. icon_e_biggrin.gif

You haven't come up, And if you did I'm a gentlemen if anything. I had to heal and find new opponents. Got 3 decent fatties lined up so I'm gonna give it a go. If history is any indication, that means I'm about to drop 50-100. Ace of blades, the innovators of shield dropping

Haha, I'm at 1037, so hopefully I can find a couple of fatties and be done with this. Congrats on being done with this madness!
  • So, Season 1 has ended, Season 2 has just started.

We should think about our strategy gamewise.

I must admit I am not ready to spend so many sleepless nights again, and spend so much in shields, boosts and so on.

My goal is to max characters so that tournaments can be fun when the character is in the middle of the game.

But PvPs have been crazy lately, and it takes big amounts of boosts and shield to perform.

Season 2 prizing is not so appealing, and there is no innovation or anything new.

I will help and contribute as high as you ask me though. So I'd like to know your position on that matter.

I think "effort" across the board will decrease. Sure it's cool to be top 10 but at the end of the day we could have more fun and get pretty much the same prizes if we took it a little easier.

I think as long as we all stay active we'll still always get the prizes we actually want pretty easily.
  • I would have expected something more "fun" for Season 2.

Starting the exact "same thing" over again is not appealing really.

I won't play shield training much this time. So my overall points will decrease a lot.

Shieldt training (unless you're going for top 5), is mostly for affecting and regulating MMR. It can either screw with your mmr or can be used for tanking. I used it to tank until the last 5 days to help my PvP tournies.

As far as a goal, the season rewards aren't really enticing enough given that it's a month long event. I am fine with ensuring that we get fury. There are some that may reach higher and I will be working towards more as well but I won't be pushy about it . Especially with those rewards. At that point, it becomes more about bragging rights than being fun.

Eh, for a multi-141 player, there's really only a 500-point difference between "casually playing SHIELD training" and "really fighting in SHIELD training."

I got maybe 1 attack every two days when I was in the 2000-point range. I got 2-3 attacks per day at 2200.

I went as high as 3000 to get the yellow spidey cover. The end was just crazy. I got something like 50 attacks in the last 2 days. Could only win a match and shield.

I won't do that again, not worth it considering I have all the covers.

I only miss Black Black Panther and Green X-Force, and I'm done with all characters.

So trying to find motivation now. Getting the new covers, some ISO. And playing with the Alliance. Though very few are really participating in the "social life of the Alliance".

Oh wow. Yeah, it must be brutal in the 2800s. Unless you're getting progression covers (which you were), I wouldn't bother aiming higher than 2500 in Shield training.

Fury and Sentry are your new motivations. She-Hulk and 3* Storm are coming up, as well. There's always more shiny stuff to collect.

I might try to dial back, but maybe I'm already too addicted to stop! icon_eek.gif

Also my Doom, Rags & Loki are now only 1 cover shy of maxed so no need to push quite as hard when they come around again ... and again ... and again.

I'll probably play season 2 like I played season 1 which means I won't finish spectacularly, but am aiming for the top 50 (which should be doable if I don't miss 2 whole events due to being out-of-country like this season)

but the rewards should really bo revamped...tokens for a full month of playing is just silly...and 1° cover rewards for progression need to die....
  • IMO season rewards are about comfortably getting the fury cover which, IMO, we should do without any problems. The higher placement awards are a real anticlimax. If you think about how much ppl would have to spend in shields just to get each alliance member an extra 50 Hp for top 5, or hell even an extra 25 HP for top 25 rather than top 100 then it's a really bad deal icon_e_smile.gif.

Wouldn't want to see us dropping too low though.. bit of a slippery slide. Also the total neutering of spiderman (hopefully he got to keep his balls in a jar or smg) will likely reduce PvP scores across the board, along with the fact everyone got to see how lackluster the season rewards were anyway. SO that said I expect we'll still place pretty high all round without people having to go quite so balls deep on every event.
  • Let's stay in the Top 10 if we can. That would be cool.

Qt, it may be nice to have a roll call. I know a lotta ppl on the board are burnt out and we seem to be slipping a little bit. I'm not yet concerned but I remember we talked about revisiting some things after season 1.

    Just a thought.

I think "slipping" might be a bit of an overstatement at this point. We're like a day and a half into a new season after finishing 10th in the previous season

And even if we were slipping we'd probably slip to what. The 20s or so if everyone is active? Which wouldn't affect anything

I personally think we are/will be fine. And if a member decides he'd like to leave bc he won't be active, I'm sure we won't have trouble finding very good replacements

    *waves at bonfire and arktos*
  • Well, I guess, sooner is better:
I did thought about this and it seems like I'm one of those burned out. Since mess that TaT was I was forcing myself to push through "hard times" - boost nerfs, changing of prices, MMR shenanigans etc. Last month, with season, scaling, repeating PvE and need to perform in every PvP - well, I don't feel like playing, it became more like work to me. I'm very loyal to alliance - heh, guys, you ARE the best there is! - so I was waiting for season to end, but I think it's time for me to leave MPQ. I'm not sure if it will be permanent leave or I just need some time to rest, but, I guess, you will need replacement.
On less sad note - thank you, guys! AB, thanks for inviting me during creation of alliance - it was huge mess, heh. It was fun run while it lasted. I WILL miss chatting, trying out new tactics, even OTERSEY's insults toward devs. You made game much more bearable than it is. May His Clawed Excellence be with you. Snikt.
