Elektra (hahahahaha, except for any pve nodes with muscle. She owns muscle)

CHulk (worst 4* in the game by a fairly wide margin)

Miles Morales (low-mid tier)

War Machine (probably high-mid tier when the dust settles, but barely a month old and uncovered for all but the whaliest whales)

And none of of them are especially good PvP characters.

The boosted 3*s are only a tick better too. Looks like next week will be a lot of straight unboosted PvP matches of the traditional best teams. It will be old-school, like February 2015 (except for all the 4*s, and the 5*s. . . ).

I just saw the list for boosteds as well. This may very well go down as the worst list of boosted characters ever. And we get to start the next season with these guys? Ugh.

This will officially be the season of the Cho.

To celebrate we will get half Iso rewards and all progression rewards will be nothing but Crit boosts....

Time for my champed TAHulk to shine!!*

    * Of course I don't have a champed TAhulk. That would be idiotic.

Agreed, I looked at this list after it was updated the other day and let out an audible groan.

That is a great side topic:

What's the over/under on the total number CHulk champions across all players in the game? 100.5?

I'd bet the farm on the under. I'd love to know the actual answer.

I have a champion Miles and I'll say, he's excellent when he's boosted. I don't have the exact numbers in front of me, but his red at 5 does around 6k damage (and stuns for a turn) for 6 AP. His purple while a bit slow, is a very capable nuke. I actually run mine at 4/4/5 because the purple at 5 covers seems like overkill most of the time. He's definitely the best of the bunch this week, and not by a small margin.

Have the people who say Miles sucks ever played a champed boosted one? I think he's pretty damn good.

I'd wager that very few people have champed him because he's never been the best option in a slate of boosts before.

But boosting any 4* champ is such a big deal in the current meta. They basically get double everything across the board.

Elektra's black will be terrifying this week too (if it goes off, it means you need to damage her 6 times and absorb something like 10k damage before you can hurt her again.). That doesn't mean that she is a good character, it just means that 4* boosted champs break the meta relative to everything but 5*s.

Miles is the best this week, and his red isn't bad. (The spider node in the simulator was a pain once they got a ton of web tiles out.) But i still think he is low-mid tier overall.

The 3*'s may have trouble punching too far above their weight, but it won't be hard putting together passable teams that cover at least 5 colors. Even Squirrel Girl can hold her own, with Dr Doom and especially Human Torch out there creating special tiles to power up her purple. Lately, my 3* PVP opponents have been mostly Featured 3*/Boosted 3*/Partially-covered 5*, so it's seems to be less important to have two top-tier boosted 3*'s that work well together than it was in the past.

The boosted 2*'s are an odd pairing with all the cover overlap, but both characters have their uses. The 1*'s have some synergy...but they're 1*'s, so it probably doesn't matter.

Why does everyone hate Elektra so much? She's really not that bad, especially in PVE. Her red does monstrous damage when she's boosted. Throwing out black and letting her tank big hits can be a lifesaver as well.

Admittedly purple is situational and not even all that stellar in the situations it's good for, but c'mon.

She is a specialist in a game that rewards generalists. (i.e. she performs very in select circumstance and not well at all in others). And her abilities are relatively hard to maximize, and relatively easy to circumvent by a human opponent (hence she has almost no pvp value).

She's not quite as bad as her rep, but she's solidly in the bottom half or third of all 4*s.

Hmm, worst possible boost week (not counting someone like War Machine who isn't bad so much as new) is any interesting though experiment:

CHulk and Fantastic seem like no brainers, then maybe star-lord. The 4th is the hard one re choose. Some of the traditional weak 4*s have at least one useful nuke that would be good when boosted (gwen, flaptain, drax, venom). I would probably go with IW or elektra.

So. IMO some combination of CHulk, fantastic, star-lord, elektra, and IW is the weakest possible collection of boosted 4*s in the current meta. Can someone do worse (or better, depending on your perspective)?

I can only speak for myself, but I don't think the biggest problem with Elektra and Miles is that they are absolutely terrible (unlike Cholk). The problem is that they're such a low priority for leveling that they still fall short for PvP, even when boosted. I have them and similar 4*'s completely covered and moderately leveled, but I find them not worth using since they basically boost to where my top tier 4*'s are sitting without boosts. Now, if I had more of that purple rock iso8.png...

Over in PvE I find boosts like theirs more appealing. Their level isn't as important and I can approach things more strategically, playing to their strengths.

Miles, especially boosted, is not bad at all. Awesome red, invisibility, and cheap powers. Elektra isn't bad either. Not the best, but far from scraping the bottom of the barrel.

IM40 and 4*thor do all the work in that team. Why not just being someone like JG to use the purple/green, provide defensive value, and clear out enemy CDs?

People say that Elektra's purple is situational because you need to be facing someone that produces strike tiles.

And then other people complain that they have to face OML 80% of the time, who happens to produce quite a few strike tiles.

Elektra is a pretty good counter to the current meta.

I think most would agree, but I think the following two rosters are about to have a fun week:

I maxxed Miles a few weeks ago. I'm going to chime in and echo those who say he's definitely in the "very much worth playing when boosted" category. I'd put him high mid-tier, between Thing and 4* DP. His red is so damn cheap and hits hard enough, and both his yellow and purple fuel his purple nuke. I like him 5/3/5, but hey, that's the thing with making a character a champion. icon_e_smile.gif

In general, though, that's a pretty weak week. Start of the Season, too...

I have Elektra championed. She's fun to use in PVP. But yeah she's not scary at all and terrible on PVP defense, unless she somehow manages to pull off her purple attack after her opponent's OML did his black.

Woohoo, I got chulk and electra at 8 and 9 covers respectively. I like this week's boost. It actually let's the 3* fight it out. I thought 4hor was boosted or did I mix it up with another week?
