Tough call. I like using Hulk with GSBW, but my Hulk is at 125 and working pretty well at that level, so I don't think it's imperative that you get him up to 141. I don't know that taking Patch from 105 to 115 will result in any noticeable difference for you with the covers you have. I'd say Psylocke because she's the closest to being completely covered among your top picks, but I'm not hugely impressed with her.
Classic Storm seems to be buffed in a lot of events, so that might be a good choice. Maybe BP or Steve. They've been growing on me lately. Honestly, though, I think your best bet might be to wait a bit to see how Falcon plays or to see what covers are offered next.0 -
This is from the perspective of a guy who lost a lot of points getting hammered running Frank, Spidey, x in PVP. Who also had matches really drag out from stun lock. Then got a ton of ISO from joining a good alliance, 12 lazyThor covers and got up Panther. Fielding the Brute Squad of Thor, Panther, x has made PVP life much easier for me.
I'm thinking Steve. Seeing him buffed this tourney, I think he'd pair well with GSBW and Spidey, adding some beef to your roster. He'd also give you better choices for phasing out Spidey if it comes to that. (Now is your chance to play with that team at a higher level than what you paid in). I also learned opponents Spidey can take a couple free stuns early and my Spidey stun locks forever on the cheap, so defensively you really want a sub to swap out.
Psylocke plays fast and has worked great. Would have great synergy with falcon way down the line.
Hulk I've tried with a few combos. He mostly just looks intimidating, IMO.
Patch damages my own team too much for my liking.
Panther also subs in well for Spidey with scary black and blue and yellow your others don't use. I'm not a great fortune teller, but I'm not betting on more Panther covers coming as PVP rewards soon with the glut of new characters out there.0 -
The problem I see with GSBW - Spidey - Steve is that none of them are strong in green. I feel like GSBW - Hulk - Steve (subbing in Spidey when you need to heal) would be a better choice. Hulk would be there pretty much solely to take damage, though.
GSBW - Steve - IM40 (with IM40 generating AP for GSBW and Steve) or GSBW - Steve - Hood could be good. Hmn. The more I think about it the more I'm tempted to put ISO into Steve. I may need to experiment with these combinations while he's buffed.0 -
Given his 141s you could work Steve in with any. From the perspective of strong green you could run Punisher, GSBW and Steve. 6 colors at work and Steve's red is better in most situations.
Cap made a heck of a difference in Florida Ares when I had 2 red shields going at once. Was able to foil a number of black matches in the process to keep away the Devour.0 -
Hey Everyone,
Very glad to be a part of one of the most capable alliances in this game. Special thanks to Chimaera for keeping me in the loop and working with me to get here when a spot opened.0 -
Welcome, Scrubby, glad to have you!
I just got 2 Wolvie X-Force greens from the Alaska event tokens. What are the chances?0 -

Go play the lottery. Like, right now.0 -
The hunt scoring is hurting my brain... Whenever I get close to the 1st place guy all the points just vanish so I can't catch up, but when I've tried grabbing an early lead, people pass me and then I can't catch up to THEM
I don't think I've gotten better than 30th in any of the subs but I've been steadily top10 in the main because the top 50 in subs are bunched so close together0 -
I would like to formally welcome Scrubbyp to the Terran Dominion. Some of you may be aware that he was in it briefly when we were first starting up and was removed because that spot was promised to someone else. This was before we discovered what public/private was of course. Since then we have tried inviting him back but there was a bug with re-inviting, fun times. But with that bug fixed I promised him a spot when we had one available and we got it done.
Sadly though this comes at a cost of a once active member. I am sure you have noticed that with the new tools and daily play bonus ISO that calmmonkey was not active for some time. The alliance covers acquired weeks ago have not been applied to his current characters. I sent him a pm over a week ago and he has not logged in to read it, we made the call this Tuesday to have him rotated out. If he finally comes back or reactivates and we have a spot I would be glad to have him back in the future.
I am not exactly sure of the circumstances of his absence. We are fairly competitive ranking top 4 in some events but are no means “hard-core” (some of us are hah). But as long as we know you are going to be away for a while on vacation or family commitments we understand, just so long as we are not left guessing.
Anyways good luck in the…questionable scaling event.0 -
Thank you all for the very warm welcome. When this alliance first started, I remember following along in the forums and was impressed in how you all were active in communication (not obsessively), and how quickly you all seemed to bond. I look forward to helping our alliance stay in the top spots as best as my scrawny roster can.
Hopefully the newest events will calm down a bit...they're starting to eat through my power-ups0 -

Glad to finally have you on board ScrubbyP, thanks for being patient too! I think have a scrawny roster may be a benefit in certain events as well. Mags was hit hard in the Heroic Venom PVP with just brutal matchups.
Everyone wants to have all 141s but I'm starting to think that an alliance with players in various points of roster progression may come in handy.0 -

Yeah, Heroic Venom was bad. And Moral had it even worse than me. Lesson learned, though -- don't let the game think you're having too easy a time in PvE tournaments.0 -

That's an interesting point. It makes me wonder how they divvy out players into each event. They obviously don't throw in all the strongest ones into the same one. It makes me wonder if each event is weighted to have a balance of players so that there aren't all the beginners in one event, and all the hyper veterans in another. If so, it only benefits an alliance, like you said, because even if one of us is strong in a monstrous bracket, another one with a decent roster in a mid level bracket could compensate.0 -
Your bracket is determined strictly by timing -- when you first win a mission in the event. So you could be lucky and get an easy bracket or unlucky and get a bracket with 3 members of S.H.I.E.L.D. People join at varying times now so there's no way to ensure you get an easy bracket.
Where having members at various points in building their rosters might help is with PvE scaling (seems like the high-level players are getting smacked much harder by scaling, so a lower level roster might have an easier time of it) and PvP MMR (lower level rosters shouldn't be matched up against high-level players, for the most part). D3 does keep changing things, especially with PvE, so it's kind of a guessing game.0 -

Thanks for the clarification Mags...so what you're saying is that we all need your luck to get into weaker brackets to dominate!? Nice pull btw with the wolvies!0 -

Ha, my luck fluctuates. My pulls today were lucky, but a few PvP's back, I was the one with 3 S.H.I.E.L.D members in my bracket.0 -

Heh. I am so done after this event. It's going to put me right back there. And Spidey has been on the bench the whole time. Steve, LT and OBW are beating level 218 teams of dark avengers when I go in expecting to lose.
Good to get you in ScrubbyP!
The Morak theory of bracket timing is first dinner time you can join up I figure if there are 60 brackets in an event (60,000 players) better than 40 of them are created between 5 and 11pm est on the first day up. For some reason I think a lot of serious players shoot for times outside that window.0 -

I try to join events at random times quite often...haven't started a pvp yet and it's 2am, yea I'll join then. I don't know if it works, but I do know that I rarely see the shield guys and other heavy hitters.0 -
So how'd everyone fare with the server outage? I got really lucky. I had finished my clear of the Savage Land earlier, and I got into first place in the Punisher event right before it went down and managed to hold onto that placement.0
