lol @ your story, HailMary, but this still doesn't make DD super-viable... He completely depends on the enemy to get unlucky/make mistakes, which even mHawkeye doesn't do.

Oh, I know. Daredevil is a terrible character to use (esp. against goons who don't move tiles). I was just amused that Daredevil finally got his day at my expense, even though Hulk ended up Clapping everyone to death.

By far the worst decision I have made so far was deciding that Daken was a stupid character during my prologue missions and selling him on the spot. Now, after 152 days of playing straight I have finally obtained his full covers and now use him constantly. Somewhere in the early stages of 2 star battles I sighed in shame when I realized everyone was using Daken but me icon_e_sad.gif

Daredevil traps can be hard to avoid once you've gotten used to making as many cascades as possible. Also, how often to you avoid those 4 matches or the midair crit-tiles that you generate. All of these can very easily trigger traps.

The main issue is that you can't really plan your attack. It very much feels like a blind person swinging his cane in whichever direction hoping to wack someone over the head.

Dev 1: "So, I got assigned Daredevil. Ummmm, who's Daredevil?"
Dev 2: "Oh, he's a blind guy who--"
    Dev 1: "Blind?! I GOT DIS." <leaves>
Dev 2: "No, wait, also he... <sigh>."

    more leik:

Dev 1: "So what are Daredevil's powers?"
Dev 2: "He had a chemical accident that blinded him, but it also gave him heightened senses so he has this radar that lets him 'see' "
Dev 1: "He's a blind guy whose superpower is that he can see?"
Dev 2: "Well, no, yes, he's got awesome reflexes and he's a martial artist and beats the **** out of bad guys with a billy club"
Dev 1: "If I were a blind superhero and couldn't see who I'm fighting I'd just put traps everywhere and wait for bad guys to stumble into them"

Dev 1:Also, what about his costume.
    Dev 2: its a suit.
Dev 1: well, yea I know. What kind though?
Dev 2: skin tight...like Spiderman I guess. All red, little horns, and uhh...a D on his chest..2 D's.
Dev1:uh huh uh huh...so we talking ball tight or balln'tights?
Dev2: huh? I don't know what you are...
Dev 1: ohh, I got you I got you. ...like...this right?
    *pause*
Dev2: what the hell is he doing?
Dev1: blindguy martial arts. I think its like a flip kick or something.
    Dev2: uhh...NOT what I am talking about....THAT.
Dev1: that's his junk bro. Did I not outline it enough?
Dev2: that's...*sigh* that is not the issue here.
Dev1: what, you think a a blind guy is going to stuff? He don't care.
Dev 2: what? I mean he seems pretty big from this angle but
    Dev 1: dude..perv...
Dev2: no, I mean. *sigh* at least the rest of the suit looks fine.. maybe I should just be happy I didn't have to specify those Ds were suppose to be letters....

*tries to walk out the door, but catches a sketch from the corner of his eye*

Dev2: And what the hell is this?
Dev1: Got some work done ahead of time for you guys. That's that cat Black Panther. Googled Black Panther and all I got were some old activist sites or something.
    Dev2: well, yea....black panther's were....wait, don't confuse the subject here.
Dev1:I wasn't. Couldnt find anything so I read a comic and saw he was bangin' storm
Dev2: hey come on, we are in the workplace. Women work here...
Dev 1: I said bangin..jeez. anyway, googled black pantherxstorm. Reset my harddrive, turned on safe search and tried again and got a pretty good idea on what to draw, but I wasn't sure where to start...when Bang-o...inspir-ATION.
    DEV2: .....
Dev 1: I had some free time, and I was watching pulp fiction with my girl and bam...Art.
    Dev2: ...that's a **** suit.
Dev1: Awesome, I was hoping that got through to the viewer.
Dev 2: ICEIX, WHO HIRED THIS GUY?!?!

    **** me too....

In game terms spending a crapton of hp for Cap covers when he came out and then never using him...
  • I had two maxed one stars in Iron Man and Storm that I sold, rebuilt, and re-maxed. This was back prior to re-specs. I would love to have that 60k back now.

I love that word crapton icon_lol.gif Now I'm gonna start using it as a measurement unit for everything...

It all has to do with Invisible Woman, she is one of my favorite characters. I forgot what tournament she was released in but I was determine to be #1 that day

    1) Woke up at 4am to make sure I stayed on top of the bracket, and this was after working a 13 hour shift the day before
    2) Got first place which guaranteed me one of each Invisible Woman covers, I was so excited to try her out that I proceeded to buy $150 worth of HP to max out her green and blue covers (this was pre-tuned invisible woman)
    3) Played a couple dozen matches, it was then that I realized that I blew away $150 and several hours of sleep on a useless character

After my ordeal I came to the boards and posted a list of her powers and my thoughts on Invisible Woman, so at least I could provide some feedback and perhaps warn others before they decided to follow in my footsteps

Several months later Invisible Woman was tuned but in my opinion she's still missing some oomph, I told myself I will NEVER spend that much cash nor lose sleep over any other character, unless of course it is Adam Magus or Thanos

They should make her a lazy 3* - the best upgrade downgrade if you ask me - and lower AP costs insignificantly. Oh and also not make the turn end or whatever her green power does.
And not reimburse any HP or ISO, of course. <--- required non-step.
  • Nothing major, besides not joining an alliance for quite some time and spending some HP on tokens. I could have a few more roster slots by now but that's about it.
I had to sell Daredevil but still can't consider that a bad decision until he gets reworked or gets buffed in a ton of events.

Selling all my daken and obw covers in the first month(got about 10 or so of each) cause I thought they were useless. Leveling up bagman to 8 then going to pvp thinking he was awesome cause he has a higher level cap(the term meat grinder comes to mind) selling my first patch cause his powers looked dumb compared to awolvie.
  • I always had stupid reasons for selling characters in general, but when you're starting out roster space is a real issue so you come up with silly rationalizations.

Sold all Astonishing Wolverines at first, because I figured I'd start pulling the superior X-Force variant at any time so why keep him. Did the same thing with 2* Magneto and Modern Storm.

Sold characters because I'd never heard of them. In trying to free up roster space, characters whom I didn't know growing up got the axe. Ares, for instance. Now that I've seen how useful he is I'm going to try and build him but only have three covers thus far, whereas he probaly coulda been maxed by now had I not immediately sold every cover I got.

Recently sold a fully-covered Daken, partly because I had never heard of him, and already had enough Wolvie variants, but mainly because he's annoying to play against and I wanted to slight him in some respect. But then I regretted it.

Sold every cover of GSBW at first because I didn't like the way she looked. Yeah, sold her because I thought she looked stupid.

Spent HP on "daily deal" tokens and whatnot. It's worked out before, but nothing makes me want to fling myself into traffic quite like trading in your precious HP for a Teabagman cover.
  • hhmm, just 1 day before the patch notes of respec came out, i went to del my modern storm just because its not the build i want. I had the other covers with the correct build standby in my rewards stash. So i went to del, and level a new moderm storm from level 1 accordingly to the build i want. Cost me around 20k ISO back then. Then next day came the respec patch notes. ZZZZZZzzzz
  • Worst mistake... Believing that any new feature IceIX/D3P claims is making the game more fun, actually makes the game more fun.

Now when i see the word "Fun" in a new feature description, I roughly translate it to "this is going to suck for you, better spend some money to survive"

Just curious what other people think is the worst decision they've made in this game so far.
Starting a letter-writing campaign to request Gold Bag-Man.
  • did pretty much most of the things that was mentioned in this thread. whenever I do something stupid, this image comes into my head.
