More hp to roll in for season 3! Minimise shielding.. or maybe not unless...

Hi all,

The #100 in season 2 pvp has about 170.000 pts which translates to 8500 pts/member.

If we have 1500 pts in Shield sim and 10 pvp, that means we need to score 700/pvp.

Even though there are a lot of veterans quit, i sense that season 3 going to get tougher (because nick fury's yellow "seems" to be the best power), especially if we are stuck in MMR hell.

This made me thinking, are we really playing a game? or working?

Anyway, just focus on 1 pvp at a time guys, if we stay top 100 in each tourney, we'll get that yellow nick fury.

I'd be disappointed if we don't make top 50 in every pvp. My current shielding strategy depends on getting 200 HP on placements and 50 HP from the 900 progression reward. While I have no expectations on alliance members to push as hard as I do, it would be nice if at least some effort was made to help us reach that goal. At least then I would feel that my efforts were appreciated.

I agree with kidd. I don't think top 50 is difficult. We have always been there until recently.

Pucco, what's your take on this? Will this be too much of a pressure on the alliance as a whole? Or has our accidental ranking in season 1 raised expectations on us?

Jazz, of course our accidental ranking in season 1 has raised our own expectations one way or another. And i agree with kidd, although 50 HP looks small, it makes difference in the long run for our HP earning.

Since we always been in top 50, then lets just raise the bar and aim for top 50 PvP from now on. I don't think it'll be too much pressure for us. i'm not asking all of you to score specific amt of points, but if u guys see that we are not in top 50 and your score is less than 500, please make an effort to push more points.

For PvE however, since it has become a grind fest now, we will still aim to be in top 100 and more focus especially when new characters are introduced.

Yes pucco, i will switch to aggressive mode whenever new character release.

For pvp, my aim is 1k /pvp. If buff character is patch/hulk/daken. I will go for 1100/pvp.

Anyway, im enjoying the game. Just a little burn out in pve recently.

Just to offer my 2 cents.

I am in agreement that we overachieved for Season 1. With that said I can also honestly say that my MMR was easier then, and I spent more HP getting LT covers to push for PVP which helped me a lot. I think I spent HP on 5 covers which in return helped me get the rest of the covers and also other covers that I needed. LT, Punisher and OBW helped me a lot in Season 1.

Come Season 2 a lot of other people have maxed LT. My MMR needed more suicide missions in order to have manageable PVP opponents. To make matters harder for me the rewards were covers which I already have maxed, and usually my playstyle for PVP is to push 1 full day before the end and spend a 24 hour shield, only to break shield if I needed to be in Top 10 for covers. So a mixture of MMR and **** rewards made me slack off in Season 2.

For Season 3 I hope that they have a HP sales, for I plan to invest in LD and Sentry in order to have some competitive edge again. LT was my weapon in Season 3, and I need some new weapons for Season 3.

Having said the above I do hope that alliance members who are able to push or have easier MMR please do help us get more points.

I really appreciate the gentle and undemanding way Pucco runs this alliance, especially after reading about the X-Men-related craziness in the forums today.

Having said that, I wouldn't mind if he imposes a reasonable point requirement for PVP tournaments. Maybe 500? That would be likely be enough to keep us consistently in the top 50 (since several members regularly get twice as much) while still being easily attainable enough to fit our "casual-hardcore" vibe.

My plan for this season is the same as before: go for 900+ (usually good enough for top 10) in tournaments where the cover rewards are good and 700+ in tournaments I don't care much about.

Frankly, it isn't that difficult to push PvP. It is a question of whether we want to or not. Even if the event is giving covers that aren't needed, the HP does add up and does mean being able to buy newer covers using that HP. I was hoping to be back home in time to press the final few hours of last night's PvP. I saw it had an end time of today 3pm and thought that the game had changed to align to PST instead of EST so I decided that it can wait since I had been driving for 8 hours. The PvP prior, I pushed 700+ even using the lousy wifi from the hotel. So, although pushing PvP is harder than it was before, it is definitely still doable if you really want to do it. Oh, and I realized that even without participating in an event, you still get the alliance rewards. I really do hope that we do not have people leeching our alliance.

Since the rewards structure has changed as well. I'd like to highlight and summarize a few things here:

• PvP has more rewards to offer (in terms of 3* covers) while PvE is meant for introducing new characters. Hence, we will be slightly more focused on PvP rather than PvE. But that doesn't mean we neglect PvE since sometimes the subs give great HP rewards.
  
• Many of us has completed covers for 3* characters, except for newer ones (eg: Falcon/HT/Sentry/Laken/Mohawk). About 6 people even completed X-Force and IW. But we still strive to secure top 50, therefore i'm asking you guys who are making transition to 3* to take this opportunity to grow your 3* roster and kindly help to push our ranking when the need arises.
