who are people using here? before it gets hard lol. I've gone imhb/witch with either jean or fist. not sure which is better there. fist gets him to black/red faster but jean keeps that cd from going off usually. my guess is that witch will be more and more unreliable as the levels go up because cap will be matching blues. I also used hb/hood/jean once. don't have a great feel for it yet, but the boss levels are significantly above the essential node levels. if that holds, the later rounds will be a royal pain.
I'm guessing that management of that countdown tile is going to be crucial in later rounds, especially since when Cap has a teammate he will start auto-generating red AP.

For those without a usable Jean Grey, I'm finding that 3* Falcon with 5 blue covers is working quite effectively (my alliance is currently on Round 3). Redwing overwrites the countdown tile and un-fortifies it; then you can match it away and have Redwing ready for the next Cap countdown.

And I just checked on my Jean Grey (I got a couple covers for her recently) and found that she's actually 4/3/3 now and can overwrite countdown tiles, so I may have found where my ISO is going next.

I find it really weird that in the "missions" I can choose Cap to be on my team.

I'm also thinking if OBW won't be useful here. Destroying the countdown is temporary solution as Cap will create new one. But prolonging it's timer could be very useful.
OBW could be supported with IM40 for more blue AP's + her purple can speed up IM40's yellow.

I will have to try it, especially because I don't have enough Jean's covers.

Imhb/if + 3* falcon his working very well in round 7 (thanks to whoever suggested 3*falcon on these forums! Edit: it was daywalker). Falcon spawns a 3 turn CD and Steve spawns a 4 turn. So once you get 5 blue ap, you are more or less completely immune to this power (wonder if that CD will be lowered to 3 rounds for future runs. . .)

Only had one rough match when I couldn't get 5 blue or match away the CD before it resolved. And even then I won with just under half health on imhb.

But given that cap is doing 1200 damage from a regular match 3, it is getting very close to 1 health pack for imhb per match. So don't plan on doing anything else for a while after each clear.

so redwing gets through the fortification? I settled into hb/hood/jean but haven't started my clears on the level 400 steve yet. they worked fine on the level 350 but needed 6 health packs for my last round. witch fist wasn't working reliably enough. earlier I had success with im40/4thor/xfw (newly champed) and winfinite. if you can get witch's first cd to crit, winfinite might be ok, but that match damage is really getting too high. if that first cd gets matched or doesn't crit, your in trouble.

Yes, red wing overwites the tile, so he completely cuts through fortification. Hell, boost +2 blue and you can be immune to cap's allies with just a blue match. . .

Match damage at 400 is too high for winfinite. Upwards of 1200 per match 3 for his his strongest color. That will drop even a boosted gsbw pretty fast. And forget about 450!

Can't see anyone reliably beating him in rounds 7 and 8 without boosted, champed 4*s or 5*s. No one else can soak up enough damage. And the enemy 5*s can't be stunned, so you will always be eating 4-10 rounds of match damage.

I was able to use Prof X and his invisibility skill. I also saved a Patch Wolverine team up because Cap downed my HB and my GBW. Prof X would just strengthen the tiles on the board and I was able to take him out. Cap at 41k HP is fun...

    Cap couldn't touch Prof X. icon_lol.gif

I'll give that a shot. My luck, Cap will summon SW & she'll just aoe me.

  • A couple questions:

    1. If I fight in Team Cap, I should *not* fight in Team Iron Man also?

    2. If I fight in Team Cap in Round 1, do I need to stick to this team for the next 7 rounds and until the very end? Or can I switch next round to Team Iron Man in Round 2 without negative consequences?

    3. Should encourage my alliance members to play the same team I am playing?

answers will depend on what your goals are. if your goals are to poke around, play some matches and have some fun, do whatever you'd like. if your goal is to make it as many rounds as possible (maximizing 4* cover rewards, etc.), every person on your alliance should be focused on one side or the other (all together) because every fight you play on the 'other' side will be taking away available points that would advance you farther on your target side. you should assess where each side is at this point and try and focus on the one you've either advanced the most with already or the one that is more playable for you as an alliance (considering boosteds and boss battles).

    Think of it like this:

The total event is what, 3.5 days long? And the nodes refresh every 8 hours, so that's 11 refreshes during the event.

And scoring is a zeeo-sum game. Every node you play on one side locks you out of the same node on the other side. So the number of matches you can play (and therefore the number of points you can earn) is capped.

So if you are in an alliance that has a shot to finish round 8, then you should play exclusively on 1 side. But If you are in a weaker alliance, you might want to play both and target round 4 in both sides (which would 1st least mean 2 4* covers).

Thanks for the replies. Here's a little more info about me and my alliance: We are a total of 5 people in our alliance, which is far from the maximum of 20 people (we're all friends in real life.) Only me and a couple others are daily players. Also, I don't collect 4* covers yet because I'm still working on my 3* roster and I don't have enough roster spots to start building 4* characters. So 4* cover rewards are not that interesting to me. But if there are other rewards like ISO caches and 3* covers and HPs then I'm interested in what would be the best strategy in getting as much of that as possible.

The semi-winfinite team I ran during Galactus Mk II (Hulk, Mohawk, GSBW) doesn't work too well, especially since Storm tanks green right now. I was able to win, but only because I forgot to respec everyone to more advantageous profiles (Hulk went down disappointingly quickly) and was able to successfully Sniper Shot Cap dead.

    For those who got it

    HB/4* Cyclops/Jean Gray

Set Cyclops to 3/5/5 if championed.

Collect red for HB through HB Black, Cyclops Yellow/Blue.

Hit with HB red. Cap down.

They've dialled it up to 11 with the latest refresh. I'm now facing level 250+ missions, when previously it was trivially easy with level 30 - 50. Now it's starting to be a health pack sink. Again.

just an FYI - don't leave a crit out for him to match in rd 8. those hurt. over 7K just for a match-3. haven't lost yet but this isn't easy and will cost at least 1 extra set of packs per clear. I like dcu's team of hb/cyke/jean.

    Unstoppable R8 team: OML/XFD/3☆ Falcon
Redwing eats all Cap's CDs, OML tanks all but purple/blue, enforcer triggers on nearly every turn

That would be an awesome team. Too bad only 5% of players have a usable oml (and that doesn't include me. Which is the biggest tragedy of all). icon_e_sad.gif

Xpool is a great idea if You can get someone else to tank. Us 5* cap's match damage high enough to trigger thing and xenforcer? Thing/xpool/3*falcon could be a solid team, if a bit slow.

What about 3* players? Is there a reliable team for them? Do they have any shot at all?
