    Yeah, I should be able to hit the 25CP. Gonna be tight, but I think so. One way or another, I'm gonna get some 4* out of this. Hopefully not something I have to sell.

    This might end up being my best event. Maybe, just maybe i'll finish top 20 (44 last time was my best). I really hope we get news soon. If the event runs again every 2-3 months rewarding a different cover it will be great, if not, i rather get Classic Spider next. And Classic Spider sucks....

    Hmm.

    So if you happen to have enough howard you can win more howard. A step in the right direction I think.

    Will howard be in DDQ cycle going forward? Awarding an LT? Or is he making a one-time showing?

    if i can beat, then i dont need it. seeing as how i wont be using him again maybe ever.

    So you've replaced the LT with an inferior reward? Interesting. Duck season has gone from simply nothing special, to actually worse than if there were no event at all.

    I see that as a bit of a wash. Sure, it does mean that you don't get a LT which has a 10% chance of a 5*, but it does give you a shot at one more cover for a trophy character. Since for me any LT has about a 1 in 3 chance of being nothing but 1000 Iso I don't mind it being something honest-to-goodness useful, if only in an incremental sense.

    Yeah, I mean, generally speaking, the DUck Season complaints have been 'not enough chances at a Howard cover", like with the one cover in the Webbed Wonder vault, no special tokens, low odds on event tokens, etc.

    Adding another special shot at a guaranteed cover, assuming the Clash is actually fair to people in possession of a single Howard cover, makes more sense than almost any of the other Duck Season/Webbed Wonder decisions.

    My slice is up and he now sits at 3/1/1. Will be 3/1/2 after PvE is over.

    I hit that final progression reward and have been grinding non-stop for the last 2 hours only to be sitting at 102 place with a score of just over 62k.

    TINY KITTY THIS TINY KITTY GAME!!!! I'm gettig sick and tired of grinding my tiny kitty off only to come up short! I've got better games I could be playing yet I keep coming back for this abuse. Why??? Because events have a limited play time?

    Here I sit with no Howard, no chance for the Howard DDQ as his purple I'm betting will be required for a low covered run, and fading interest in this tiny kitty. The manipulative and down right abusive tactics of the developers are bad enough. Then take into account the insane lack of response to the ever growing issue of poor cover drop rates.

    I've got my IW sitting at 3/2/8 and my HB at 2/6/4. No, wait I've got an extra 4 covers that I can't do a tiny kitty thing with because the drop rates are so tiny kitty.

    My handful of 5 star covers are looking like they would eventually end up in the same position as well.

    Sorry to get all ranty there, but I'm really getting sick of this. I was kinda excited for Howard, more than I have been for this game in a while. I've been barely pulling myself together to even drag through DDQ each day lately because it just seems so futile. Here I try to play optimally again (didn't miss a refresh either) and I still fall short. Not so short that I'm like "ok, i didn't try hard enough," but so close that it feels even more pointless to keep playing.

    Thanks for the offer, but alliance wise I'm happy with the place I've built. I may not get more than some HP, Iso, and a couple Heroic tokens for alliance rewards; but I don't think I'd even drag myself back to the game at all without them. I've had a few of these guys in my alliance since our original days of 5 members shortly after alliances were implemented.

    Fair enough. Note that mercng is just for the event. You'd be gone only for a couple hours. Since it seems that you alliance is not getting top 100 they cannot mind too much if you leave for a beat to get a cover of your own.

    Indeed. I don't think I've ever got close to top 100 in a new 4 star.png release by getting the final progression reward. I don't recall what my final score total was this time, but killing myself grinding subs 2 and 3 couldn't make up for a poor first day (I missed a clear due to bad wifi) and I finished around 130. Thanks for the completely useless Spiderman cover (well, okay, 500 ISO towards my next 3 star.png champion)!

    In new char releases, rarely ever will top progression get you t100.. especially the way Howard is being clamored for, my 84k was good enough for 13th, but t100 was all pretty much 70k+ in my bracket.

    Sad sad side note, my wife, who really only does DDQ and some very light pvp.. and has her first 2 cover maxed 3*s finally.. decided last night to join The Hunt, with 45 minutes left , joined @ #5 and finished #3... she had time to finish exactly 1 clear. Her bracket never even got to 100 people, so everyone got a howard. This is the first PVE she has played any part of in many months.. seems that's the way to go.

    Is it wrong that sniping new character PVEs is usually the best gamble for getting a cover or two?

    After all, it seems unbelievably harsh on players who ground the event for 4 days and get nothing, the someone able to hang around and just dive in to a late slice gets 2/3 covers....

    and this comes from someone who, shamefully, sees that as the most effective route to new covers...

    (Although was hoisted by my own incompetence in the Quake launch where I clicked on the wrong node.... and ended up joining a 800+ player bracket rather than the brand new one)

    It is just another unfortunate side effect of making PVE actually PVP....

    At some SURELY they have to recognise the bad feeling etc that their game, and by definition, leisure activity, is creating*....





    *and no, I know the actually don't/won't....

    You get a lot more ISO by playing through the event. ISO is usually more valuable than covers in the long run. Howard may be an exception though.
