Duck Season Details *Updated (04/11/16)

Greetings!

Howard the Duck (Howard, A Duck) will be available in a series of upcoming events dubbed "Duck Season." During these events, Howard the Duck will be available in cover packs or vaults, progression and placement rewards, and he will be a mission reward in his premier Story event. Here are the details:

•

The Hunt: Story event starts 7:00 AM EDT on April 7th. Howard the Duck will be available at 4-Star odds in the cover store as well as top 100 Individual and Alliance placement rewards.

• Webbed Wonder: Story event starts 7:00 AM EDT on April 11th. Howard the Duck will be available as a reward in a vault as well as a one-time mission reward.

• First Avenger: Versus event starts 8:00 PM EDT on April 12th. Howard the Duck will be available as the top placement reward.

• Deadpool's Daily: Starts 6:00 AM EDT on April 13th. Howard the Duck will be available in the vault and will be the required character in the Clash of the Titans mission on the last day. *Update: A green cover (The Quack-Fu One-Two) will be the reward for Howard the Duck's Crash of the Titans mission.

• Fowl Play: Versus event starts 8:00 PM EDT on April 14th. Howard the Duck will be available at increased odds in the cover store as well as the 1,000 progression reward.

Thank you. Could you confirm whether you can get up to 3 Howards (one of each colour) as personal placement rewards in the Hunt? Current wording seems to imply there's only 1 cover given, at top 100.

I'm assuming he won't be up against a level 200+ opponent, since we're unlikely to have the covers or ISO required to level him up for such a task, right?

won't be getting one here, you guys still haven't fixed competitive PVE (meaning ending it, progression only)

If you can't bring yourself to play a few nodes in a non-competitive, non-timed event, then I think that you are part of your own trouble too, and should quit anyway, as you clearly don't enjoy playing the game regardless of difficulty or design.

How many covers you think you'll be getting for him? As for me, I have full confidence that D3 will give me all the iso I need in order to get my lvl 70 Howard to lvl 70.

How many covers you think you'll be getting for him? As for me, I have full confidence that D3 will give me all the iso I need in order to get my lvl 70 Howard to lvl 70.

Well if D3 is having us go up against a DPD node with him, then I suspect at least a few. That would be pretty cruel to do this event where no one will win...oh now I see the problem.

Haha...man, this is pretty sad. Instead of being excited by what should be a fun, lighthearted event rewarding a fan favorite character, the majority of us are griping and groaning about what we're fairly sure will be an overly difficult slog, followed by what will likely be an unwinable single character showdown. That's where your player's heads are at devs, this is the way a lot of us feel right now. This is the environment you've created for us with the over the top, constant difficulty and tight fisted reward schematic. Maybe make this thing actually lighthearted and fun, for players of all levels and roster compositions? I fear a lot of your players are on their last leg, just give us a break and let us enjoy the experience rather than shoving barely winnable battles at us, gating any worthwhile progress behind huge walls of AP fed carnage nodes & 50,000 hit point Moonstones. Because that's what we expect, and it doesn't sound like "fun". Surprise us.

One thing we don't have to worry about is the clash of the titans. I'm sure that either the top 100 cover or the one time node reward will give us his purple power. And with invisibility the clash is easy. Even at one cover.

please please please be nice and give us a purple cover from Webbed Wonder and not green or blue.

if you gave us a purple we would at least have a chance for sure at the DDQ clash node, as unless you throw like a level 125 bagman I can't imagine most people will be able to do that node without a purple cover.

I just noticed this and it has me a bit concerned. I don't remember any true PVE events besides DDQ and the Gauntlet having a vault or tokens before. Is this going to be an actual PVE event like Growth Industries, or will it be a Grind PVP event like most Story events?

Looks like this is the reason I'll finally open my 200+ taco tokens. It's too bad I don't have 300 to guarantee that I'll win him, but at least I'll have a fighting chance, plus I'll get to win lots of health packs (yay?).
