PVE Heroic: Juggernaut (2016-04-04 to 2016-04-07)

Thank God it's the off season because this event is a million percent unplayable. What an absolute dogshit selection of heroes. I'm a 5* transitioner and my best option is Patch?
**** you.0 -
Well this has to be the worst PvE yet. Which is too bad coming off of a fantastic one with Unstable Iso 8. Progression rewards were obtainable with a bit of grinding and the nodes were challenging without being frustrating.
This Herioc though is horrible. For the first time in a long time I am not grinding for CP's or I may break my phone in the process.
Having all boosted characters who use special tiles against a level 200+ Doc Ock in the last node is tinykittyed.0 -
Ant Man is my only fully covered 4* apart from Fury (champed) and IW (ha no), so I'm leveling him to see how he fares boosted. With Scarlet Witch in the mix on day 2, I'm hoping to pull off a few Grow punches to speed up some of the harder matches.0

If you think Doc Ock was bad, wait until you see Kingpin + Muscle + *2 Bullseye at the end of the 2nd sub.
If you target Kingpin, the Muscle gets out strike tiles for absurd damage and that's before the tommy gun hits.
If you target the Muscle, KP finger pokes you death as the Muscle feeds him yellow for Maggia Pawns.
And Bullseye slows everything down with shield tiles.
Even with SWitch and a decent Antman, I wiped when attempting my 2nd pass. No CP for me there.0 -
I barely beat the final node in Sub 2 with Patch (championed), Antman (2/3/1), and Thing (1/1/1). Thing soaked damage and got some protect tiles out. Antman blue was critical stealing muscle strike tiles and Bullseye's shields. Antman's pink choked the board with attack tiles and I was able to fire off Patch's green and only generate one pink strike tile for the enemy which I stole on the next turn.
Thing died a horrible death after getting fingered twice and Tommy Gun finished him off. Antman was mostly dead but Patch still had most of his health at the end.
I think this Heroic is really only meant for people who have fully covered all of their 4* characters.0 -

I am hard pressed to think of a worse event than this one in the last year.
the roster is just horrible.0 -

OH WOW is ScarletWitch ever unhelpful for this. Let's make even more floods of fuchsia tiles for Bullseye.
The final node with Kingpin is absolutely unbeatable with my roster. I have tried gone through 10 health packs. I refuse to spend HP on this absurd event.
I'll play again tomorrow when I'm bored on the elliptical at the gym, other than that I'm out.
The devs really need to think long and hard about this particular Juggs:Heroic before they put out this sort of a "challenge" again, because it's not that it's super hard, it's not fun.
I'm fine with things being hard, as long as they are enjoyable, this is work.0 -
I suspect the devs originally planned to run a 7 day PvE this week, but then they needed to do another test run for the new scaling system and decided to run Unstable ISO + Heroic Juggernaut instead. Unfortunately, they forgot to tweak the boosted character list.0

I remember Bagman being buffed a long time ago.
I also remember Daredevil pre-buff, against all-goon nodes.
But this truly is the worst roster in a long, long, long time.
I hope this is RNG, and not hand-picked. Because if that is handpicked, I know for sure that they just hate their playerbase with a fiery passion.0 -

Daredevil was brand new, so obviously he was going to be featured. But yes, running him against all-goon nodes was not a good idea.
I Think things have gotten a lot better lately, but obviously there are still some hiccups. I don't Think the devs intended to run two heroics back to back initially though, but I could easily be wrong.0 -
On that last node I use 2* Mags (122), R&G (166) & Patch (94). Using Mags to get rid of the muscle tiles (and himself) and collect enough for R&G. Only died once so far after 3 rounds. Fisk's black is almost never a problem because a) I can deny it and b) the Ai saves it for Bullseye most of the time.0

3rd sub reinforcements:
Cap's helpful, since you're going to be denying red and blue anyway with C. Mags in all the hard nodes.0 -
witch is like a breath of fresh air. her mnmags and grocket have done most of the heavy lifting in 2. mnmags has been used more than any other character I think. whether its with grocket, qs/rags, thing, etc. most of my healthpacks go to him because he's in nearly every team I field.0

I for one am super happy to just have the old system back. No 7 node clearings to get the clock going means I can afford to be semi-competitive with my schedule.
In the first sub I made top 50 and it didn't feel horribly hard even though I totally understand complaints about the roster. My best characters were (boosted):
2* Thor (lvl 216)
Quicksilver (lvl 210)
Mohawk Storm (lvl 199)
2* Magneto (lvl 172)
On the second sub I got Scarlet Witch (lvl 234) and 2* Captain Marvel (lvl 217) in addition. The last node seems pretty hard, I think I beat it twice and lost twice. But I don't think I need to beat it again to make top 50 again, which is great.0 -
On that Kingpin/Bullseye/Muscle node, I've actually had two fairly successful clears using SWitch/R&G/Patch. You want to hit Fisk first so that he can't finger your too much, and to do that you'll want to accelerate your damage using strikes -- most likely from Berserker Rage. And while SWitch probably will give BE a number of protect tiles, they'll become mostly irrelevant with your strike tiles, and if you do cast BR, Wanda has a chance of clearing out some of the enemy strikes as well.
In my second clear, I came away with hardly any damage. (My first clear I think Wanda lost half her health.) Of course, this lineup has a non-negligible chance of blowing up in your face in a big way.0 -

I'm glad I'm not the only one frustrated with this roster. Really quite bad synergy given the opponents (mostorm/antman v. Doc oc, or switch v. 2* bullseye) and relatively little fast-strike potential (arguably patch, but he's hard to use against a lot of goon + 2 villains nodes), plus a bunch of truly weak characters like colossus, ta hulk, etc.
I am getting through the clears, but I don't have much interest in grinding with this roster.0 -
I've had some success beating that last KP/BE/Muscle node with a champed SW (264), a max champed 2* Thor (220), and an unleveled Colossus (boosted from 120-> 214). About 50-50.
I focus on Bullseye first, and if the board is right I try to build red ASAP for Colossus' big punch. If the red isn't there, I build yellow for Thor (hoping to get to his green), or black to use Fastball Special on Thor. SW's purple is just gravy, occasionally giving me a stun later in the match.
But really, and I'm not asking this rhetorically, has there ever been a worse roster for a heroic event? From the 3* tier, all top 10 from the recent community poll are locked out, most are from the bottom ten, including the single worst ranked character (Ragnarok). From the 4* tier, all the top characters are locked out as well, where 3/7 are from the bottom half (including the worst-ranked Cho), 3/7 are new characters most people won't have leveled...and Thing. I have 9 champed 3*s, so it seems weird that I'm having to lean so heavily on champed 2*s (Thor, Mags, HT) for this event.0
