You may have noticed some alliance shuffling going on - wanted to provide a quick update so we're all on the same page.

And no, I didn't kick anyone out... noknuckles is always trying to calm my wild mood swings about that stuff.

allenw88 had some account problems and couldn't get it restored. After some time, he started a new account RedBugs88. A bit of a starter account, but probably has super low MMR. How can we leverage that to our advantage? Eventually, I'm going to need a "how'd you get your in-game-name thread".

Also, our good friend, GoodPhriend aka GoodFelix has moved into some new career opportunities and he graciously relinquished his spot in our alliance. I mean, he contacted me! We didn't have to go looking for him. So many props! So many.

We have a new alliance member to compensate for our sadness though: Ben Grimm! I think he has a good handle on what our alliance is all about (and what it's not). So, welcome Ben Grimm! I can see you're already shaming my low, low scores.

Our alliance roster may be shifting, but we'll keep our attitudes positive! Keep up the 'stare!

Thanks guys. Looking forward to playing with you guys, and I want to thank Decoy Duck for offering me the spot. I hope I can help out with some of the events. I just crossed 600 in the Cap event, but I don't know if those points transfer or not. And I've finally finished every node in the easy PVE, and about half of them in the hard (scaling has gotten pretty bad for me on it).

Anyway, hello all, and I hope I can help us get lots of loot.

I lost my forum account so I created a new one but I guess now my forum name is more in line with my in-game name

As for how I got my names:
Purin is Jigglypuff in Japanese. I only knew that because at the time I had a Japanese version of Smash Bros on the N64 and I used the hell out of Jigglypuff/Purin and I loved it to death. At the time I was just Jigglypuff crazy and all of my online names either had purin or Jigglypuff in them. It's not my fav pokemon anymore, but it's still cool and hey it got re-typed this generation!

NoKnuckles refers to be double-jointedness. Watch out, my explanation might be a little nasty

I could do weird stuff with my fingers like twist my thumb backwards or bend my fingers really far back and when I do those sorts of things my knuckles kinda indents into my hand and it looks like I have no knuckles

You do know there's a "First unread post" link at the top of each page on the right next to the page list, right? Never scroll again!

Yeah, it keeps me from running into the problem of not having the right personnel for an event. Makes PVP a little more challenging, but being able to completely switch out your team multiple times is both a lot of fun and a good way to get around limits on healing. Also, I'm just OCD enough that I find it very satisfying.

Sorry all, didn't look like we were able to pull Top100 on this one. Looks like the middle of the day in the middle of the workweek (for some of us) was tough for us - but let's give the competition some props too! Fierce this time around!

Anywho, I just re-arranged my hulk from 5/3/5 to 5/4/4

Too many people with them damn 69 Dakens around. Everytime hulk-a-maniac over there decides to get angry (and we don't like him when he gets angry) decides to blow up a black tile, watch out for the lashbacks. And those damn ticks to damage back at you at rank 5. Got a patch in your group, you taking some serious beats (opponent as well). Daken making your life hard, wait until Your Hulk starts grinding you...

So, I figured I would kick up his red and kick down his black. See how that works out for me...

On another note, the only reason I am still "competing" in the "easy PVE Venom" is because DD is there (in my bracket). Care Bear Pride!!

How did you get your name?

Random roll for a name, when playing on Bleeding Hollow (World of Warcraft- about a decade ago). Tonzil was the random name given to my Warlock. And, since, it stuck. Had a Tonzil in just about every MMO (or other online, even offline game). Tonzil was the name of my Zealot in W.H.O. as well amongst many others.

That blue power is one of the single most fun powers to deploy in the game, once you get the hang of using it for zero cost.

The name DecoyDuck is some mash up of old Tiny Toons cartoon characters: BatDuck and his pig sidekick, Decoy. Not only was Decoy the punchline to many of BatDuck's antics, but he wore a bullseye target on his outfit, in order to draw fire.


My few forays into online gaming has gotten me a reputation of being a "target". It's a handle I've carried to many a user accounts. No, I don't have a persecution complex - just a little irony when I finally stomp my opponents!

So I've been trying out BagMan on the all-goon squads - which is nice since I can make him part of the B-Team (M.Storm, IM35, and BagMan), and I gotta say... it's not as bad as I thought. I'm probably 2/3 wins versus losses with that guy. Some of it is just inexperience with "webbed tiles" and what makes them unweb. Some is that my Bagman is only level 10 and 500 health, so he can't survive a stray AoE that got away. But all in all, surprisingly doable.

It's nice having a wide roster. I've been leaning entirely on Thor and Daken for months and it's a bit straining to have those two characters do everything between 3 events (PvP, PvE, LR). Those two are still my workhorses but atleast now I have a B-team that's competent. Also with the way MMR works, stronger characters does not necessarily mean stronger results, whereas wider rosters WILL mean more consistent results

I'm not gonna be quite as tidy as you (holy moly your entire first page is at EXACTLY the same level!) but I think I'm gonna go with variety of OK heroes instead of concentrating on getting 1 or 2 guys to L120+.

I say that, but as soon as Psylocke covers get rewarded again, I'm pouring my life savings on her

I'm hammering deadly and more-or-less ignoring easy in the PVE (for all the good it will do; I start getting ready for work soon and that's it for me for the tournament). We should be able to hit top 100 in deadly relatively easily (we're at around #60 now, I think) whereas we're deep in the 100s in easy.
