I have a disclaimer to my first post. If I EVER see these goons paired with Carnage, I think I'll rage quit at seeing Alien Instincts go off 6 times a turn.

We knew it was going to happen. The final node in the 3rd sub is Venom (eddie brock), Demolisher and Carnage. So carnage with a green and red feeder.

Due to carnage's attack tiles, Venom's Symbiotic Fury can quickly head towards a 7AP cost along with Carnage's 7AP Symbiotic Scythes. With a green and red goon feeder. Don't think I'm going to bother again.

Has anyone come up with a team that doesn't get screwed by that final node yet?

Tried She-Hulk, IF, Blade...if and blade are maxed and she hulk is almost maxed....got a bad board and got crushed. I think scarlet witch would be better in that team.

All the other nodes are doable with that team though.

Also...sitting top 30 with 2 days to go on this event and have 30k....65k still seems far off

try 3 times with different combination (3*)and final win

Gamora 355, Ironfist:355, spiderman 355 plus purple and blue boost
I think boost may not necessary

Fire blue first to stun carnage
Then collect purple, Use IF to create blacktile
Once collect 12 black ap, Use Gamora bad reputation
This combination could create at least 5 strike tile
The yellow strike tile will boost attack for carnage or IF passive ability
In other words, this would create near 2000 damage each turn
Then follow stun carnage, collect purple,
Once carnage is dead, the game became easier
either gamora red, or IF could make large damage

It's another all luck, either you totally win early or get massacred after a few turns node.

Seriously, who playtests/designs a node like this and thinks "Yeah, this will be a fun event to play over the holidays".

Just like the last Boss battle and the Last new event, I dont think they test them just make sure they run by themself and as long as they dont crash its works

not really about Luck its whoever pays the most for HP wins

I beat that last node at l247 with Jean, HB and Scarlet Witch. Took out carnage first with overdrive, repulsor punch and mind over matter in one turn. Saved Venom for last. Still a sucky node though.

Beat the last node with IF + Luke + Falcon 3*. Well i guess it was luck but finish it rather quickly and got 1 CP on first try=)

So whoever planned out the last Empire State w/ 4* Venom+2 mutant goons, with TU of Coercive Field is f'n mean.

BC those stupid CMag shields counts for the Critical Mass effect.

This is turning into Galactus reloaded isn't it?

EDIT: Heh, I did finish it on the first try though w/ FThor/KK/3*Bullseye, only because Eddie-Venom fired off his Yellow, killed KK, and then Bullseye nuked him w/ his pink power. If there were no special tiles on the board, I would have died. Still not fun depending on an excellent/perfect game to beat.

EDIT part 2: Yeah Eddie+Moonstone+Symbo, with TU of Doom's Blue->Black changer. So ***ALL*** TU's seem to be the BEST one's possible. How is that supposed to be even remotely fun?

For that last node in sub 3, I use icon_spiderman.png, obviously. It's his PvE! I lost many, many times before coming up with the following strategy. I do not recommend She-Hulk...

Stun icon_carnage.png with Spidey's cheap stun every time 7 or more redtile.png AP is generated. icon_venom.png is trickier to predict since he will fire depending on the number of special tiles, but if the enemy has 6 greentile.png AP and Venom is stunned, the goon will fire and use 6 AP. Down the goon last.

It's a puzzle and with a solid 3* roster, there's a few good teams to consider.

The last node in the 3rd Sub "Back in Black & Red" with Venom and Carnage might as well have the image of the dog from Nintendo's Duck Hunt laughing at me. There's no way I am going to beat that thing. Tried it twice so far and got wiped without even killing one from their team.... icon_cry.gif

I came here looking for the magic team to not burn up 8 heals to clear. Crud.

OK. My team, and last node has actually been "easy", is switch, if, lc, all color boosts.

    Other essential matches are switch/if.

Let switch build up 15+ purple, then if purple to black.

Then, with 12+black With lc, stun them and hurt them. Without lc, get enough black for if punch to kick in. It's almost as good.

Anyone have a better team that is not max 4 stars?

For the carnage, venom and demolisher node, i used grey widow, spidey and scarlet witch.

Still end up using health packs but spidey's heal and protect tiles does help save the day.

For the last 2 out of 3 battles, carnage downed grey widow because of his red power. Scarlet witch and spidey ended up taking all three of them down.

The real question for me with these nodes is not so much how to beat them but why am I even bothering, a challenge is one thing and it can be fun, but the team setups for some of these nodes in day 3 and day 4 simply aren't fun, requiring very specific teams and friendly boards to get past them.

Please stop pitting brand new legendaries against overly strong, AP-fed monsters like Carnage! Day four, Miles Morales node "Easy" difficulty against the Carnage/Venom/Demolisher team. Can't get AP fast enough to drop Carnage before he's fed all the red AP he needs to Symbiote Scythe my team to death. Are you really not doing a balancing pass before releasing the event? Even the Spiderman node was near fatal because of the AP feeding **** with that low-cost bull. It's really feeling like the development team is intentionally trying to demoralize the player base. HINT: "Challenge" doesn't mean "hope the enemy doesn't get a cascade and you get the colors you need."

She-Hulk, Luke Cage and Iron Fist should be able to do it too, especially if we boost Purple for IF to quickly turn the board black. Power of Attorney is good to clear the board.

I beat the node using this team. Ate 2 carnage red attacks. Wasn't pretty. But got the job done. The key is to rotate your tank up front when carnage triggers his red.
  • Have to say this is one of the least enjoyable PVE events right up there with day one of Galactus fiasco. Spent a couple of days figuring out why I haven't been playing this event and I've come to realize that this feels like a poorly planned event. The node progressions are not as fun and the seem to vary between easy cake walk to a prolonged slug out or quick wipe. Luck seems to be a recurring theme mentioned for this event. Feels like that's a cheap way to make this event challenging instead of designing good node progression.

I like a good challenge and some of the nodes are stimulating and fun. I like the new spawn minions over the Ultron clones. That game play is fun. With that said, having a node with just Carnage blasting off his abilities and dragging out the match is not fun.

I am agreeing with the small choir of voices who have chimed in on the threads this holiday season for Venom Bomb - the mechanics for the minions feeding red to Carnage is a joke. This is poor design and leaves players feeling 'cheated' by the game. It can be better. And there have been better events in 2015 over the previous year.

Yeah, I give up on the last node on stage 3. I've wasted enough health packs for today. What a **** design. Having a goon feed Carnage & Venom both is ****. No matter what I do I'm toasted somewhere around turn 6 everytime.

The goons need a complete overhaul in my opinion, if they don't want them to make moves and also have us playing tactically to deny them the colours they need then they should only gain their ap when it would be possible for them to make a move that would gain that ap e.g. red generating goons should gain any ap in a turn if there isn't at least one potential red match 3 on the board.
