New Event Info: As it's a new event, here's some extra details (thank you to MrCheddar for putting it all together)

Node Info
The first sub follows the same format as most other PVEs.

1 repeatable loaner node, 3 trivial nodes, 3 normal nodes, and 3 essential nodes. In the first sub there are no survival nodes. Standard rewards in the first sub, 2 CP nodes. No token nodes or one time only nodes.
Tendrils, Tendrils Everywhere (Repeatable loaner node): Carrier, Doc Oc, Carrier.
Alien Rage (trivial): Carrier, Carrier, Demolisher.
Bedlam and Bullets (trivial): Mutation, Soldier, Demolisher.
Experimental Chaos (trivial): Doc Oc, Horror, Carrier.
A Boy & His Dogs (normal): Lieutenant, Mutation, Mutation.
Running Wild (normal): Carrier, Carrier, Demolisher.
Dark Reinforcements (normal): Venom, Demolisher, Daken.

Miles Morales: Carrier, Carrier, Horror.
Spider-Man (Classic): Horror, Horror, Spy.
Steve Rogers (Captain America): Pyro, Soldier, Pyro.

Goon Info:
There are 4 new goon types in the first sub (special tile overload):
Demolisher
Appetite for Destruction ( greenflag.png 6AP): Creates a 4 turn countdown tile that destroys a random basic tile every turn and deals damage when it reaches 0. Destroyed tiles do not generate AP.
Chew the Scenary ( redflag.png 6AP): Creates a 4 turn countdown tile that deals damage and converts 4 basic tiles to green.

Carrier
Symbiote Tendrils ( greenflag.png 8AP): Creates a 4 turn countdown tile that creates a random friendly strength x Protect, Attack or Strike tile each turn, and deals damage when it reaches 0.
Critical Mass ( yellowflag.png passive): At the start of the turn, if there are more than 3 friendly Strike, Protect or Attack tiles, improve the strength of 2 of those tiles by X.

Mutation:
Rabid ( greenflag.png 5AP): Creates a 3 turn green countdown tile that deals damage plus additional damage for each friendly special tile on the board.
Bark & Bite ( redflag.png 7AP): Creates a 4 turn red countdown tile that creates a strength X green strike tile each turn and does damage when it reaches 0.
Guard Dog ( yellowflag.png passive): Whenever a match including a friendly Strike, Protect or Attack tile is made, deal damage.

Horror:
Precision Slices ( redflag.png 7AP): Creates a 3 turn countdown tile that deals damage and destroys 3 random enemy special tiles (does not generate AP).
Symbiote Stalking ( greenflag.png 6AP): Creates a 4 turn countdown tile that creates a green attack tile reach turn and deals damage when it reaches 0.

My favourite time slice starts in just under 7 hours and I'm kinda curious too. Can anyone say what's in the first sub, presuming there is a first sub? Any wave nodes in there and nodes that give out tokens like the most recent new events (Enemy o/t State, Hearts of Darkness)?

Hopefully this is not just another 'beat the Dark Avengers for the Nth time' (for N -> infinity), but recent additions have been fairly diverse so that's a positive sign.

Thanks I was going to write a similar post describing the event.

As of right now there are no Survivor nodes but with the new goon type I can see one occurring. I am happy there is a new goon type. They are similar to Ultron Sentries as they place a lot of special tiles except it's by CDs and they cannot move the board. So far, they are not too dangerous. I find using Mohawk to work really well because she can flood the board with her Attack tiles.

I also want to thank the devs for making Venom yellowflag.png the T100 reward. We have all agreed that yellow is his best color so it's a huge surprise to see this one as his T100 as opposed to the expected blackflag.png cover.

Enjoy everyone! Don't grind too hard, it's Christmas icon_e_biggrin.gif

I have a bunch of 166 and a 270, I have no difficult getting to the final nod and, with Luke, a boosted character and a character who could make use of enemy special tile(such as Dr Oct), it is not that difficult to finish the final nod.

the problem is, I completed the final nod around 10 times and still couldn't get the CP. and without the essential 4 star spidey, plus it is Christmas that I can't spend much time on games, it is not possible for me to get the leg token or the new venom.

Finally there is a new story event with new goon, it is interesting, well, but during the Christmas.....

Your Cage is level 119, that's what's wrong with your game.

Maybe you REALLY should level your chars one of these days.

You know, I should try Mohawk. If you're stuck w/ a lousy board, the strike tiles will easily flood the board. icon_e_surprised.gif Either that or use Cage to reduce the passive damage.

and I agree that Venom yel is easily his best power. Brock is not great as far as star.pngstar.pngstar.pngstar.png characters are concerned, but he will be needed for an essential down the road.

Here's an upvote for your comment. Congratz. icon_lol.gif

Okay, now to direct our attention to your comment re: Ock. The problem w/ having ock in a node w/ green spammers is that he can quickly use his aoe against your team. And while the board is flooded with enemy tiles, you can't use Ock on YOUR team to get rid of them. So while I appreciate how D3 wants to use a different villain to move the story forward, in this case the inclusion of Ock means the player has one less effective character to bring against the symbiote nodes.

i wonder how many would play PVE if

a.. they would take away the 4 star needed in the Ess node

B.. they would offer them for sale with the cover for enter amount here

i will keep pushing but if i fall below a certain level i think i will quit.

    after stage 1 was 34th

also they said they are going to replay this... I wonder if they are replaying the PVE or if VEMON will be the sim reward

pts went up what 10% from stage 1 to 2....

I played MPQ long enough to remember when the required 3* is a 10% draw in the cover pack. If D3 decides to bump up the essential rates to at least that, I think more players would participate. On the flip side though, if more players can clear essential then it would make placement even more competitive, and this could in turn lead to greater burnout among pve players. So it's a glass half full, half empty situation imo.

These new goons are pretty cool! They're annoying attrition-wise, and things can very quickly spiral out of control, but I'm just happy to see things other than 7000 damage sniper rifle/deadly shots and threaten/tommy gun death combos.

First node of Empire State is a bad joke. Board filled with green and black (neither of which the *mandated* heroes on this node can make any use of), goons that hurt you when you match away enemy special tiles, said special tiles getting boosted *every* turn...

Follow up to previous post: first node on Empire State is entirely dependent on board luck. Managed to successfully complete it on the third attempt when RNGesus decided not be a total tinykitty.
