I like using my beleaguered customers as guinea-pigs, too, especially immediately after they've endured two weeks of sub-par service and are getting antsy. Funny thing is, quite a few of them bugger off and don't come back, and I can't for the life of me imagine why.

Is there an emoticon for "while the underlying exasperation is sincere, this comment is an attempt to be humorous, not rude, and I apologize if it comes off otherwise"? There should be.
    Get dumpstered nerds!

    Oh OK, thanks!

I can definitely understand that sentiment, and agree on the emoticon thing. The internet is a horrible place for getting emotion across. We didn't roll out the other event because both work decently well and we can get some good metrics over the weekend from this one. In the meantime, we can tighten some of the screws on the other to make sure it works better than it does now (which appears to be fine, but more polish is a good thing).

Is there any news on whether or not there are plans for more persistent PvE content, so that the playerbase has something to do PvE wise in times like this where there are only PvP tournaments running?

That would be great. I would love to have previous PvE stored so that I can periodically revisit them like the Prologue. It would also be great if they reset after you 100% them.

Yeah because having a PvE event rolled out with potentially still broken scaling is a far better option that you guys would never complain about compared to a relatively simpler PvP event.

If you're saying the wonky scaling system is so fubared that Demuirge is unable to release any reliable PvE at all, that's news to me. I read that they just wanted to get some precious, precious data. It's on page 2, go have a look.

Roll out one of the old ones that did not have scaling at all...

I've said it before--my understanding is that the new PvE MMR mechanics are gamewide, and any old one rolled out would scale the same way as TaT and OSCORP.

Then that would have been beyond moronically stupid of them

It's completely understandable that they would want to polish the next event before releasing it: its just disappointing that they weren't able to fully polish the content by the weekend. I apologize if my previous riot post was taken as an actual complaint: i just love that emoticon and was looking for an excuse to use it.

Absolutely. The reaction to what is, for at least a few, a third week of no PvE might not be pretty, but can you imagine the implosion if they released Chapter 5: Resurgence of the Borked Scaling? Whatever battering on a test server it needs to be sure it's good this time, they ought to take the time to do it.

Also: you can grind idly in tournaments if you want a distraction. May not work for some, but you don't have to be going nuts for placement to play. Either way, you're beating up superheroes by playing Bejeweled, and I don't find it hugely different.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I ain't gone yet, or I wouldn't be here watching what they're up to, I'd be whining about still needing to do the post-update respec on my Wanda in that other licensed game with more than a hint of Diablo about it before I can keep playing her.

The sad thing is that you can't even grind tournaments without it being harmful to your ability to place in future tournaments, because your MMR will increase as a result. My plan for this weekend is to grind from 400 to 650ish points for the Wolvie tournament, grind up to 300 in the Daredevil tournament, tank until the last day, and then grind up to placement awards: all of which can be accomplished in ~3 hours. I guess thats plenty of time to be spending on a mobile game, but I would like the option to meaningfully spend more time on the game through some sort of PvE content.

It's a no win situation for them. If they release a partially broken event people will complain. If they don't release any event people will complain. That's the way of the world these days and the mass of complainers are ruining it for everyone.

Better no event than another 5 day grind of level 230s.

There's no scaling in PVP. I'll focus more on grinding ISO than placement. I don't get as stressed about defeats that way, too.

True enough. I discovered that to my cost before I'd gone prospecting for mechanics info here, got a bit carried away in Shield Training with I think Thor/Juggs/Venom and made it up to 1000. Next PvP I had such a **** face at what it now thought I should be fighting. You can still always grind for a bit then tank for a bit, as you say. I don't go out of my way to tank, personally, but with my typical performance in the Lightning Rounds I get on, I don't much need to.

I'm right there with you Moral, once The Best There Is ends tonight I'll pick up on the Daredevil event just to get ISO. I could use a Blue Dr. Doom cover, but I'm not going to bust my balls to earn it.

    If you're worried about mmr
playing to 400 for the token and iso on the first day of tournament is good way to fix it up
I typically wake up in the morning with ~-200 points at 12-15 points per loss icon_razz.gif
