I voted for the Iron Suit Spider Man, since that came out right at the peak of my comic reading days. That metallic green cover was awesome, even at a time when comic publishers were doing all kinds of fancy things to boost sales (most of which worked, b/c they suckered me in and took a lot of my money!).

Maybe what should be done, instead of making the 4* Spiderman the Iron Suit Spidey, is to change the current 3* Spiderman's cover to this:

then, purpleflag.png Spider Sense would truly make a lot of sense.

if ^this was done, I would change my vote for 4* Spidey to be Black suit, and would love for the cover that fight4thedream posted to be the in-game cover. such a work of art, with the use of only black and white to convey that image.

I also think 2099 would be great. he was a fun character.

another great addition to the game would be Doppleganger, since we need more spiderman villains!

I've always wanted Armored Spider-Man in-game, mostly cause I had the action figure as a kid.

I kinda want this cover instead, it may seem familiar icon_e_biggrin.gif

But no matter how much I want that variant in game, I don't think removing Classic is a good idea. And even if they did replace Classic with Armored, that would make the healing skill even more out of place.

Some armor. It got destroyed in that very issue. Pete never bothered building it again that I remember.

That awful suit just screams "90s gimmick to slap a foil cover on a book!"

maybe, but that wasn't the only appearance of Spider Armor. that version was Spider-Armor MK-I.

Peter later made version MK-II and version MK-III.

while they are different from MK-I, there was enough interest to continue making armored versions. and the current Stark Armor also fits in the mold of Peter continuing to use armor.

I think MK-I is just a cool throwback that marks the beginning of the armors, and is very nostalgic. and I cant' get over how much it makes purpleflag.png Spider Sense meaningful.
  • I want the all new all different upcoming spider man to be the new 4* spidey. It's just a fully utilize Peter Parker as Spider-man in an iron man like role. No villain swaps, no clone, no evil symbiotic, no civil war manipulation, no alternate universe version, just good old Peter Parker just more grown up. Essentially Peter Parker Spider Man evolved to the next level kind of like moving from 3 to 4 *

This is Peter Parker that acted like a complete moron and made a deal with the devil, which resulted in erasure of decades of his marriage and horrible mutilation of character developement. I don't think most people would welcome him fondly...

I remember seeing this cover in the Wizard previews and thinking: "Not gonna fall for this one. Cheap gimmick. I don't even like that armour design at all".

Of course, two months later I bought it without hesitation.

Silly and expensive as they were, gimmick covers were a lot of fun to buy and collect. Image comics did a few really memorable ones. In today's age of digital comics gimmick covers would actually make more sense to restore some relevance to comic-books as objects of art.

Right now it is all about variant covers.. and i am sorta tired of it.. 40 variants for each issue.. it is getting out of hand.

Um, wow, that's quite a costume. Looks as if Spidey went shopping for costumes at the same place as Gene Simmons does, and then paid extra for extra studs.

no one(except for nerds) would know the difference between classic and original

it's for the good of the game....3*Spidey is a cancer waiting to infect the rest of the characters

IMO 3* spidey already made a deal with the devil to be nerfed into bagtown

I hope you guys like my version of Iron Spider, because I made a speculation post about it (people can't seem to find mine for some reason...)
