To clarify my previous posts:
I agree that MNMag's is more versatile, but not that his new build helps you win more consistently.
4.5 Windstorms + 1.5 Magnetic Flux would be like taking on 3*Thor + Lvl 220 X-Force.
2.5 Windstorms + 1.5 MF is closer to lvl 130 Hood + lvl 130 - 3*Magneto.
Magstorm's new offensive upper range is still comparable to OBW/Ares, depending on enemy.0 -
He gave up 2 blue placeable tiles for 5 random red tiles, that's a net gain overall and has led to some nice cascades. Overall while not a buff, this was not a nerf0

And still the people who do not EXCLUSIVELY use a 2* roster continue to say that this was not a big deal.........

I'm a only 2* roster (I have a few 3*s with a decent amount of covers, but none leveled), and no, it's not tragic. It sucks, because they were really good, but Magento is still good - arguably top five. My top five would be; Thor, oBW, Ares, Daken, Magento.
Stormneto is still arguably the best 2* dou. The other contenders being Ares/oBW and Wolverine/Daken.
If we're talking about trios (Shield Sim, PvE, Gauntlet) then Stormneto is definitely still the best 2* team - there's no other team that have a chance to reach up and over the 2* realm like they do (especially with boosts). Pair Stormneto up with Thor, Ares, or Hawkeye for some color range and/or extra punch. You can also try Daken or Wolverine for more sustainable approach.0 -
I completely agree. It's reduced the powerhouse of Magneto + Storm but it's also made him viable for a whole lot more teams. Playing the black vortex event with him, rocket & groot and 2 captain marvel and it's working well. The purple still gets off a crit and helps to gain some blues while also making his red quicker, as it quite often came so late in matches that it wasn't really useful before.
I worry more about 2 storm's usefulness after the change than magneto's if i'm being honest.
When it comes to 2 teams i've always much preferred OBW and wolverine anyway, think storm & mags are overhyped. Might be really powerful team damage dealers but they're far to fragile on defence in pvp. storm and mags were one of my favorite teams to come up against as you can take them out before they even get an ability off. Literally every other 2 team combination caused me more trouble.0 -
Mag and Stormneto have always been bad in defense because the AI could not properly use Polarity Shift. I only use them in PVE.0

Before the change I used Storm/Magneto/Hawkeye to go through DDQ's enchilada. When I learned about the change I thought "OMG how am I gonna do it now". While I ususally got my cover it often felt a bit like walking on a tightrope, adding even a minor nerf on that felt like it would kill the team... and I whined a bit.
After the change I still go through DDQ's enchilada with Storm/Magneto/Hawkeye, it still feels like walking on a tightrope sometimes, but once you insert Magneto's red pulse into the timing you still can manage to go through same as before. So I stopped whining. it's more a lateral change than a nerf.0 -
I still like mag. I'm just glad i got into the 3s before this nerf because stormneto carried me through pve.0

I use Hulk/LazyCap/Mags for the 3* survival DDQ node, and post-nerf this node has actually gotten easier. Before, I could stun all day, but getting red was a pain. Now, I can still sort of stun all day, but getting red is much easier, which lets me clear the nodes much faster. I usually don't even get touched in this node, or occasionally Hulk will take a Thug pistol and get angry.
I think it's a great move by the devs to put some distance between Mags's purple and GSBW's purple. Now when GSBW makes 6 green tiles for a little more purple (and probably two or more crit tiles), it feels like it's an actual 3* power.0 -
I still find him good. Getting that red off can seriously reign in the gap if you've been taking a pummelling for a few moves so anything that helps build it is useful in my eyes.
I'm still running him with Cstorm and it works fine, if a little slower. I usually run 2* Cap marvel too so there's a good bit of potential for board shake ups across the 3.
That being said I'm stuck either way as my other two stars are still too low and I don't have many 3*s with more than 2 covers.0 -
I'm way way wayyyy out of 2* land but Mag/Storm/Thor is my go-to team for DPDQ every day. On average its probably 5 less AP gained per cast but the extra red does help Thor a little. Its a nerf but probably one of the tamest nerfs in MPQ history. Be glad he didn't get the Rag overhaul.0

Mag + Cap is a great goon-killing team. Mag feeds both blue & red to Cap so Cap can get rid of all those pesky CD tiles. It's slow, though, since even boosted, 2* Cap hits like a wet noodle.0 -
Anyone know when Magneto's gold sell value will expire? Started a second one to cash in to net a little profit.0

This super hard nerf to Magneto has ruined all chances of me completing Deadpools Daily challenges. The ONLY team I found able to win the daily challenges was a team of Hawkeye, Storm, and Magneto. Now that Magneto is complete trash, polarity shift being his only useful skill, the daily challenge is impossible to do. This nerf in my opinion is too much and dropped Magneto from one of my favorite 2* to just a waste of space.0

I dont get the fuss with this nerf really. I can usually still hit a 5 line of blues and most the time at least 4. I still use him with Storm for the DD 2* events still win them convincingly. I certainly dont consider him useless now.0

I'm not sure how poorly you're playing, but I've been using the same team every day for as long as the DDQ's existed, and completing it every day.0 -
I just sold my MnMags for 550 HP and opened a bunch of stockpiled taco tokens to try to rebuild him and sell him off again if I get the chance.
If this was Ares, Storm, Thor, or OBW I might think twice before selling, but Mags deserves a roster spot only after the HP reimbursement. Exploit it while you can.0
