If I'm not mistaken, there's a new Marvel movie out this week.
The past two movies got us cool new PvE content. But this time...nothing? I know we just got The Thing and all, but why no big celebration with an Ultron or Growth Industry-style event?
you should look at the crystal ball again

I should have quoted the person I was responding to with my impassioned defense of Michael B. Jordan, didn't realize it would go down the memory hole. Just from my memory its something like "I'm not racist but... Michael B. Jordan is an uppity... " Anyway, props to the mod team, and I actually mean it, dudes like that are probably the biggest problem with comics fandom. Also, Michael B. Jordan is great.

My least favorite Marvel movies? Elektra and Ghost Rider.
The first Ghos Rider was ok. The second Ghost Rider was horrible. I think they had half the budget of the first film and didn't even try to make it a good script. In fact I am surprised Marvel even signed off on the 2nd movie it was so bad.

F4 didn't get any love from critics either (14% on rotten tomatoes) so why expect big love from mpq?

Well, Ghost Rider and Blade have reverted to being Marvel/Disney properties... and we know a new Blade movie is in the works.. so maybe we can get a proper Ghost Rider, or even a Morbius one.

Ok, I need to cape for Michael B. Jordan, who put in two pantheon television performances as Wallace on The Wire and Vince on Friday Night Lights. Michael B. Jordan is like the Michael Jordan of making grown men cry. Dude may be arrogant, but he is quite talented. (Also arrogant is a good fit for Johnny Storm.) Also, Chronicle was great and he was great in Chronicle. No clue whether this FF movie is going to be any good, as the plot looks dumb as hell, but Miles Teller is a good young Reed (tho FF works better with old Reed) and I think the casting of Michael B. Jordan as Torch is solid. Also, I'm willing to forgive them going with the Ultimate FF origin if they also take Reed where Ultimate Reed ends up...

How are you gonna leave off Fruitvale Station? Great movie.

As for PVE content.. God Doom in Secret wars would rock!

    Do want. Very much so.

As for FF, Marvel Studios and Disney are doing to FF what they are doing to the X-men franchise, only more so.
Marvel's been trying to devalue the X-men movies for some time. Ever notice there's no merchandise for X-men movies when they come out? Fantastic Four's gone one further, the comics have been cancelled until further notice.

I don't lament the loss of Fantastic Four so much, but I do lament the loss of Dr Doom from the MCU.
Then again, the MCU has this really annoying habbit of killing off every villain they have as soon as they appear with the exception of maybe one or two.

They will still exist in the comics, i think this is how they are getting the rights back.. Thing is now one of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Victor Von Doom will become a sympathetic superhero (see secret wars #3) and looking good to be joining Dr Strange and Reed in a new team.

the remaining mutants are mostly being re-classified as Inhumans, the mutant gene is actually the terragenesis gene, so they were never mutants to begin with..

October is going to be HUGE in the marvel universe, so.. who knows what will happen!

Yes. Wasn't there a magic lamp in one of these games that generated random summons, but eventually it wore out and all it would summon was a chocobo and you had to go behind a waterfall to regenerate it? I'd love to see a low cost random summon spell out of Rydia. Are you going to get Leviathan/Bahamut level damage or Chocobo/Goblin level damage? She also had Black Magic that she could fall back on. Go Summon/Black Magic/Black Magic or Summon/Black Magic/AP Generation.
That was FF5, so Rydia wouldn't be using it. Faris or Lenna would do just fine though!

Yes, my bad. FFV might be the best JRPG port to the phone of any I have played.

Anyway, you guys should get into discussions with SquareEnix on this. I think this format lends itself incredibly well to their brand.

Alternatively, after I heard that Hyrule Warriors was a thing, I thought it might be time for Nintendo to enter the App market through a third party developer. Smash Bros. already proved to Nintendo that combining their various properties into a single game could be critically acclaimed and profitable... Smash Bros. Puzzle Quest. Make it happen. I'm way more likely to start buying Sephiroth's and Bowsers than I am Captain Falcon's... icon_e_wink.gif

I'd probably enjoy Final Fantasy Puzzle Quest way more than Final Fantasy Auto Battle... i mean Record Keeper.

Agree that Fruitvale is great, llke the two tv shows a bit more, and Chronicle is more relevant to him as Torch. In conclusion, yay MBJ, glad 20three's comment god deleted.

Sorry to break the news to you, but Nintendo's already got plans to go thru a third party developer for mobile games.

Huh, really? They're not just doing that for the MCU?
Oh that's gonna annoy a lot of purists. Though personally I felt the X-men existing in a world with other super heroes felt weird. X-men works best by itself when there's an "Us" and "Them". Doesn't work when you say "I'm a mutant!" and demand registration...but Hulk doesn't need to register. Or Spider Man. Or Ms Marvel. Or anyone who's beyond human but without the special gene mutants have. i mean how is Spider Man not technically a mutant?

I think Marvel might have been on the verge of getting X-men back since X3 and the Origin movies were so awful, but then Matthew Vaugn had to go and make the best damn X-men movie ever and revitalise the franchise for good or for ill.

I'm reeding (geddit?) though Secret Wars and so much is confusing me right now. Dunno whether it's because I've only just started reading comics or if it's because the story isn't explaining itself too well.

First point: completely agree, loving the last 2 X-men movies! Days of Future Past had the QS scene that i have mentally made for 40 years put on the screen, i sqee'd like a little kid.

To get the whole story of Secret Wars, there are about 20 different titles you need to read. The 3 best, The core Secret Wars, WeirdWorld, and Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars.. although Thors and Infinity Gauntlet are hugely entertaining and i would love for the Nova Family (especially that dog!) to get their own title.

In DSSW, Out of nowhere, decades later, they accidentally explain why the black symbiote costume went insane while Peter was wearing it.. in a little 1 page 2 panel funny little scene in a great book.. and everything makes sense.. amazing how they can do that.
