The F4 get no love?

If I'm not mistaken, there's a new Marvel movie out this week.
The past two movies got us cool new PvE content. But this time...nothing? I know we just got The Thing and all, but why no big celebration with an Ultron or Growth Industry-style event?

DP movie is a bigger release to them i think, he even makes an appearance in the FF4 trailer at the end. New DP coming later this week. Would not surprise me if we get the final missing member soon though, followed by a 4* version of Torch, so we can have a Fantastic Four * team.

Thing was our FF4 movie release.

As for PVE content.. God Doom in Secret wars would rock!

    FF is a Fox movie.

Disney isn't very interested in cross-promoting a Fox movie.

The F4 movie isn't under the MCU umbrella, which is probably the primary factor in it not having more buzz within MPQ.

The new FF movie has had some significant PR issues, even up to having a review embargo until some time this evening. Usually, when you don't want your movie reviewed, its a sign that you know the reviews aren't going to be favorable. There seems to have been a concerted effort to not promote any FF merchandise recently as well.

I was hoping that the FF4 character would have been Rosa or Kain... but I'll settle for a Cecil. The Dark Knight to Paladin power switching could be cool.

Kain with the Dragoon Jump ability would break MPQ

Am I the only one looking forward to the movie? Maybe I just like most things Marvel, but I'm looking forward to the reboot. Hell, I didn't think the original one was so terrible.

The reason for no big hoopla in this game is the Fox Studios thing Optimus pointed out.

You know, I didn't think the first one was so bad either. They got the casting right except for Jessica Alba, they got Johnny & Ben bang-on, but the story was mediocre and so was the sequel.

This one looks like a total trainwreck, though.

I plan on seeing it, regardless, i love superhero movies, even the bad ones.

Sort of agree on casting for the first one.. glad Evans didn't try to hang around, like him better as Cap. Michael Chiklis was dead on for Thing, personality wise.. Jessica Alba had potential... HAD.. no idea what happened, she should have been great, but they underused her char, and made her just eye candy, nothing else.. reed was terrible.

Julian McMahon made the perfect Doom.. anyone who watched Charmed knows he can play the charismatic mostly evil anti-hero, and i think that was the most perfect casting in the movie, yet once again.. they did nothing with it.

This time around, i am not going to analyze it, i am just going to watch it and enjoy.. i don't know most of the actors/actresses, i just want to see stuff explode.

    You love the Elektra movie?

I remember when I heard he was cast as Doom, I was so excited! Then.. the character was far from sinister. Thought maybe the 2nd one he'll redeem himself but Doom was worse, he shouldn't had even been in the movie.

I don't have much expectations for this new one. This is Fox's last chance to make the FF series right.

Jennifer Garner in skintight red leather, yes, as a matter of fact, i own it.

My least favorite Marvel movies? Elektra and Ghost Rider.

You guys are hurting me. Physically.

I'd play a Final Fantasy Match 3 in a heartbeat with those characters. icon_e_sad.gif

Yes. Wasn't there a magic lamp in one of these games that generated random summons, but eventually it wore out and all it would summon was a chocobo and you had to go behind a waterfall to regenerate it? I'd love to see a low cost random summon spell out of Rydia. Are you going to get Leviathan/Bahamut level damage or Chocobo/Goblin level damage? She also had Black Magic that she could fall back on. Go Summon/Black Magic/Black Magic or Summon/Black Magic/AP Generation.

Ooohhh... or she could put trap tiles on the board and the number of trap tiles determines the level of the summon!

I'd also love to get Tellah the Sage, just so that I can sacrifice him to cast "m-m-m-meteo!?!"

Devs, got on this. Start discussions to make Final Fantasy Match 3. Oh a game about crystals being converted into a game about matching gems? How would that work?

Also, if you could make it essentially a clone of this game, I would appreciate it. I played that other match 3 game with the characters being unlockable as cards and it was horrible. It took all of the lessons you seem to have learned about the importance of unique characters from this game, and made a mish-mash of forgettable "cards with abilities".

You could do for SquareEnix what Final Fantasy Record Keeper failed to do: make the characters matter (though Dissidia did an amazing job of that for the PSP). Yes, we all love collecting characters, but when they are just a different sprite thrown over the same character, it isn't special. You guys could do it.

Ok, I need to cape for Michael B. Jordan, who put in two pantheon television performances as Wallace on The Wire and Vince on Friday Night Lights. Michael B. Jordan is like the Michael Jordan of making grown men cry. Dude may be arrogant, but he is quite talented. (Also arrogant is a good fit for Johnny Storm.) Also, Chronicle was great and he was great in Chronicle. No clue whether this FF movie is going to be any good, as the plot looks dumb as hell, but Miles Teller is a good young Reed (tho FF works better with old Reed) and I think the casting of Michael B. Jordan as Torch is solid. Also, I'm willing to forgive them going with the Ultimate FF origin if they also take Reed where Ultimate Reed ends up...
