True. I'm going to finish my climb to 2000 after work tonight, so I'll be sure to look for you.0 -

You've got two options, I think.
One, level past your soft cap. You're a sitting duck up there with 120s. Everyone's going to eat you for lunch.
Two, shield for 3-8 hours, and hope that you clear off everyone's queues in that time period. Then boost everything, and play your matches as fast as you can, and hope for luck.0 -
I made it but i started in the first week. Took me 2 shields because i dont have a very strong 3 star roster. Kept getting to about 1700 points and getting smashed So shielded. Climbed back up to 1800. Starting getting attacked. Shielded and then pushed to 2000 using boosts and health packs. Plus hitting the same guy 3 times who was shielded with a roster i matched up well against.
Was number one in the bracket for about 3 minutes before i got reamed all the way back down to 1033 points.
So very do able but all depends on strength of roster on how how long and how hard it will be.0 -
I'm going to push for 2000 pretty soon, and I've hit a reasonable safe zone so far - currently I'm at 1574, and I typically lose about 100 points overnight, and can earn about 150 daily from the playtime I have on average, so I'm gaining slowly. 166 Luke Cage / 166 Cyclops / 166 Kamala Khan has been a fun team that has earned me a small handful of defensive wins as well.0

Forgot about this till I saw this thread.
Been avoiding the shield sim like the plague for the last few seasons.
Anyway with the season 10 pack out of the way I decided to jump into this.
So far so good up to 1100 in about 70minutes where I have stopped for the night, but reading this thread looks like the second part of the climb is going to be a lot trickier.
Soft capped also at 120. In the process of batch levelling my roster.0 -
capped at 94 (flamesuit on)
My Equilibrium point is about 11/1200.
+ve. Hit 1400 for Patch and still not hit a wall, close to 1500 and would have pushed if the health packs held out (pushed from 900 - 1460)
-ve. I don't know where the wall is, top of the leaderboard is mainly lvl270 and the odd smattering of 166.
2k is pretty much not doable without heavy investment in shields, i would love to hear otherwise from a capped lvl94 team.0 -
I just hit 2000 on a push that started from 1601 till 2000. I started my climb about 10 days ago on the backs of 250HB/205XF/166cMags. I was never attacked on the way up. I was also never attacked on this last push with a newly leveled 270 HB/XF/Mags. I never felt that I had to shield and I also took time to heal XF in goon matches. I'm curious to see how much I'll fall later.0
-
Did the same, pushed from 1600 to 2000 in one run, on the back of 200Thing/200Fury/166Hood. Very few attacks on the way up. Have lost about 200 points since hitting 2K.
Jonny1punch has been sitting up there at 2K for a week or so now, unshielded. Lord knows what team he's running, but clearly it's working! I haven't been able to line him up to check and see.0 -
So it's essentially not hard, if you have some of the best teams in the game fully leveled?
Like if you're not sitting on maxed out 3's or healthily leveled 4's its not reasonable i'm guessing?0 -
It's not hard if you have a good trio of maxed 3*s, or some well covered 4*s, yes.
If you're sitting on fully covered (or close to), but soft capped 3*s, you probably have a shot at the PX, with a little bit of judicious shield usage.
If you're sitting in the early transition, you can probably make it to the Loki and Patch covers.0 -
No. 1 in my Sim bracket has a lvl 206 5/5/3 Devil Dino, 183 4/3/4 XForce and a 153 4/5/3 Cage as his top guys. This person has 2103 points. I'm not sure if those were the ones used for their climb but it shows that you don't need to have a top team to make it to the top.0
-
As an update i'm in the same bracket as morph3us/Johnny.
I've hit 1750 in this run and could push to about 1800 but it's a battle left and right. Still not sure if 2k is possible but it would require tactical shielding as it's getting to the stage where i'm being hit regularly
Anyone with a cap in the 140s should be okay for a go, it's a mixture of your bracket and timing.0 -

Nice one, I was considering capping my 3* at 94 whilst I'm collecting covers, do you think it's a good strategy. Sorry for the off topic question0 -
It's kind of funny how many meanings get attributed to the phrase "soft cap." I'm pretty sure it just means you've leveled someone to the max possible given the number of covers they have (when they have fewer than 13). If you have 13 covers but are just choosing to leave your characters at 120 because you're iso poor (or believe stupid scaling conspiracies), that's not soft capped. Make up your own new term!
Also, pick two or three characters and level them up so you can actually compete in PvP. It's good for you.0 -

No! Bad strategy!0 -
It's doable as long as you have some good 3*s, at least level 140-150+. But if you keep a lvl 94 soft cap... Do you even need 4* covers?
I've inserted 2* Stormneto and Hood to swiftly lose 300+ points from 2050~. Will repeat for swings of varying amplitude, and skip the retals; people that hit me can use the easy points and I can use the ISO from reclimbing. Sold every single cover from the progression but it's still 1000 times better than it used to be.
Edit: inserted trusty Stormneto and Hood again at 2000+ points... Grab them points while you can, I will switch back at 1500-1600 to reclimb.0 -

that defeats the point of softcapping0 -
I've hit 2000 progression few days ago no problem with lvl120 team (Patch+Loki+Magneto). Used just one small shield at 1800 to clear retaliations. Sure, you're easy target at that point but the damage output is enough to kill 166s quickly enough and I didn't even saw a 270 (like maybe one lvl200+ HB).0

Got fed up and levelled Thor and doom to 166. That got me to 2000 easily enough. So hit me now and I won't retaliate.
Edit: flaky internet connection was lost when I was trying to train professor xavier. Restarted the app and the cover is missing now. Tried climbing over 2000 again but it's not rewarding me the cover anymore. Have to log a ticket now...0
