PVE Heroic: Venom (29 June - 3 July)

But in those cases skipping is at least an option. In PvE you're pretty much stuck playing against him. Makes me really hope that Venom Heroic will never be used for a new character release.
Agreed as a scarecrow he might have some merit. Mind you I tried my 4 cover who has black and I still got hut but maybe you need more black to make him scary.
Was also doing OK at the time so if the bounty is high enough you are going to get attacked anyway.
Still the value of a character should not solely be defined by their deterrence value.
Agreed really hope they don't spring him with a new release.
Got lucky with raging fury and took them all down on carnage rules the first time.0 -
DD has been the hero in the carnage nodes. His destroys tiles and damages and (always stun if possible before using an ability) , then his red.
Wait on casting his red until you see have carnage stunned (so an attack tile won't immediately overwrite his trap) and a clear match 3 red is visable.
KK to heal whenever an ability is cast, once you have carnage down a bit from tile matching and radar sense, then start to unload with Kamala if you have greens.
I have only wiped once (thing essential) but have done 2 clears successfully.
On the story nodes, KK, DD, Hood.. always, and hoods yellow clears out pesky attack tiles and downs carnage quickly. Wait to use it until carnage is low enough to be killed by it, and take out as many enemy attack tiles as possible when you do it.0 -
Joined the even with 7 hours to go. Got into an easy bracket. Only had time for 2 rounds. Didn't bother with the harder nodes and still finished 43rd. Looks like this is the way forward for PvE for me. No point spending 3 days grinding when I get better results in less than 7 hours.0

you missed out on tens of thousands of iso and some very nice event tokens (yay for extra thing cover) by doing that.0 -

For those whose scaling isn't too bad and have the option...
Against a carnage node:
1) any damage dealer
2)
3)
Use juggernaut's green a lot, it will clear the board and get heals. His red(for me) hurts him for 988 but Kahn heals for 930ish..so it only hurts juggernaut for 50 hp in the end.
My Kahn is at 122 5/4/3, Juggernaut full at 40.0 -

Spiderman's current build would border on being considered a criminal offense in some legal systems...
I mean, OBW is a 2*, and she at least has some decent (OK, great) "non-offensive" skills, but Spidey?
Tempo-heal, micro-stun, and (arguably the only truly useful) protect tiles? And he's a 3*?
Huh?
DBC
well at least his blue is usable, stun daken as often as possible when using KK's purple or making green matches to make sure he can't make his tiles.
other than that, purple makes match damage 1, and if i think daken has enough blue for a CR i make sure spidey is out front to take the hit.
he is useful as a target.
Spidey's blue stun is useless when there is a buffed Daredevil and Captain America who have better blue stuns. Spidey's stun is not decent unless you have 10-15AP, which I would rather use for the use for DD or Cap. Although his webs make his shield stronger, it's annoying when the enemy keeps matching it and it doesn't create a new one! Bullseye's purple makes a new shield no matter who matches. The move is called "Spider Sense" so you would think it would work offensively AND defensively!
Basically all I've done with Spidey is use him as a meat shield because I will never win a match if he's by himself. He really needs to be reduced to a 2* and drop Bagman to 1*. Make a new 3* Spidey - Black Suit, Armor Suit, 2099, Scarlet Spider.. anything is better than this! He would be more useful for 2* players.0 -

Yeah, that pretty much describes me. My PvE play has become pretty dichotomous these days. Tokens have never given me much of anything in 600+ days of playing, and I have more ISO than I need ATM, sooo...
I either jump in early, grind to progression and bail, or join late and shoot for >T150, but rarely both simultaneously.
Way too much work grinding for 3-7 solid days, so I pick which reward I really want and play (or not ) accordingly.

i need nothing out of the sim pve.. but those 1k iso nodes are going to be the reason i do a full clear each sub. Will try to keep out of t150 so those who need carol can get her.
but less than 7k iso from taking a 2nd person to 166.0 -

don't hate the playa' hate the game

Also, I got Thing red from venom token so...anything I get from here on out is a bonus0 -
Got my progression, safely inside T100, but too far from T50 to get there. Coast time. One will have to do, which gives me 3 covers for him, and his 4th will come as the progression in Simulator.
Picked up from a taco and from DDQ, so that will make it a 4-cover day today (5 if I count the I pulled from another taco but have no slot for). Can't complain.0 -
Wow.
So, I did my late start as planned. Came in at just south of 700, pushed to just north of 200, and it doesn't look like I'll be getting much farther due to the roster restrictions, but here's the thing.
In my estimation, I've already won this PvE.
Was hoping for a T150 Falcon, ended up pulling an lDaken on my second of two earned Standard tokens, and if I quit right now? I'm already much farther ahead than I could have wished for.
Everyone who reads my posts knows how I feel about tokens. For those who don't, I HATE them. But d@mn, every so often, luck shines on me, and it is a REALLY good feeling.

P.S. Edit: Figured it out!0 -
finished up 'Rescue Mary Jane' on my stream:
carnage is stupid.....blade can use thirst to turn the tables on him however
d3 plz streamline this event again or dont run as heroic this is horrible0 -

Is it just me or is this PvE REALLY difficult?
I never thought I was going to get off the first screen!
Oh, and my feelings about Carnage remain unchanged. Love the character, animations, and perhaps the , but the black is just, well, not good.

Low progression targets are pretty easy to hit even with a day left. Do the standard clear every 8 hours and a bit of grind. It's usually win, win then.
I've been extremely lucky for this event and hit a newbie bracket. I think from the entire bracket, only one other person (and i'm not even sure if he did) has managed to clear the Carnage nodes and he's in second place.
For a grindy PvE you can put on about 50k ISO, but the only thing i miss is the HP. Have an alliance for that (sorry chaps)0 -

Couple things:
D3 said scaling is off
D3 said they "streamlined" events, which puts less unfair/stupid matchups on the map, and ideally makes the game funner.
Doesn't seem like either is the case with this PVE - fighting Carnage is one thing, but fighting Carnage + Muscles with a limited roster? Krutack you too is all I have to say.
I'm glad I don't care about placement, and don't need final progression, because I cleared once for my stream's sake and not looking to go back.
D3 needs to "streamline" this event again, not sure what they were thinking.0 -
Top few in my bracket are all soft capped peeps with max covered 3*'s, either all @ 94 or all @ 120.. i am a paltry #5 with 60k points...
#1 is a massive roster of all lvl 94's0 -
Did ok in this one also mid 60s but run out of healthpacks in the end. Need to think more carefully about jumping into Pvp before a node refresh. Not the best strategy.
Won't do that again. Was hoping for health packs from the vault today. Got the other day just before work so in reality got nothing.
Anyway glad this one is over and hope not to see carnage and muscle for a long time. Should have not said that. Probably be up in the simulator now.0 -

I see where you are coming from but the spidey progression was not needed. I have enough iso for where im at and my draw rate on event tokens is abysmal. I needed Falcon covers so it was worth the shot. Apart from iso from each node i ended up pretty much on par or ahead as i wouldve by grinding in a vet bracket and finishin outside top 100.0 -
Needed both the Spidey prog and the three falcons so pushed till I got them glad as falcons now doing OK in the sim.
But that is interesting to know. I knew you could snipe late brackets in PvP and pve but did not know you could jump that late.
Suppose if you get a fresh bracket your all in the same boat with low effort high reward ratio. Might try that when I am really busy with work and don't have much time to play.0
