I hadn't allocated enough time for the grind down for the first sub and finished it in ~11-12th place. So for the second sub, I opened up the HP floodgates and managed to win it (not that I got anything out of my tokens) and pulled into #2 overall. Plan on doing the same tonight, so if you're in my bracket and trying to pass me for top two, be forwarned: because I'm going to buy that second yellow if I don't earn it in the PVE, it's worth 2500 HP to me. Therefor, I'm willing to spend 2500 HP to get it, and that's more than twice what I needed to do to secure Florida. Chances are, 1000 HP should get it, and I probably won't need that much, since I was coming from behind last time and will be working from ahead here. In other words:

    This wont end well
  • In this pve I saw clearly again, after a long time, why MPQ is a failure as a game. There is absolutely no satisfaction to be gained from playing the game, other than to satisfy a collector's desire. I have never felt more frustrated playing a game in the last couple of years. Playing against a 300+ Bullseye certainly doesn't help, as he slows the game to a crawl. A lucky cascade in the first 2 matches can give the opportunity to Ares to KO a valuable team member in and Daken/Moonstone/Venom can pick up the pieces. Even against goons I wiped several times. Having 3 goons who generate green means they put 1 green tile every 1-2 turns. A bad board means you MUST quit and try again because those Snipers can KO anyone with the 11-12k damage they deal. I really, really, doubt the devs are playing the same game as we do. Even the 10 health packs are barely enough for me to clear a sub in the current pvp. They either need to reduce the enemy level cap to below 300, or make it so retreating doesn't cause health loss. The game completely ridiculous as it is now.

You're ignoring the key point---AFTER The Hunt is over. Is anyone gonna care that Venom event won't have global scaling? icon_twisted.gif

We're all holding our breath to see how this one goes. Somebody in their bracket, let us know!

I think Ben is the crowd favorite for this one (just because we've all watched him yearning for so long for the Thing to be released in game). Sorry, Sang.

Having said that, everybody loves a good villain too icon_lol.gif
  • Forgot to post I just finished doing Florida subevent in my stream a while ago if anyone wants to see what's up - no real unfair nodes but scaling can kill you(which seems to be the theme of streamlined-The Hunt), doing a grind to 0 run now

It feels good to actually try for a top 100 personal rating....it'll feel even better with no scaling
  • Got my second place finish, but only 227 points ahead of third. That was a very tense ending, I have to say. Already got my Thing up to 2/4/1, waiting to see a few things before I take him any further. Sangfroid actually wasn't the guy in third, either, though he was close behind.

Not sure how David888 found those points to make that last run win the sub by 600 I was down to 1's with no more than 140pts left on the board

Thanks. You definitely made me work for it. Not sure where his points came from either, he hadn't been on my radar.

Congrats, Ben! It was a tough bracket. I was worried about keeping top 10 for awhile but managed to stay in there.

And now I'm going back to barely playing PvE because I can't take those end of sub grinds. So happy to be done.
  • Too funny!

I just accidentally got T50 and a new 4* 1-cover trophy for my case!

Late-started, pushing for T150 (no Spidey purpleflag.png s yet), and ended up at 48!

Kind of bummed to notice that the 2 cards for T50 changed to 1 while I wasn't paying attention, but who am I kidding, he would have just been stuck at 2 instead of 1 forever anyway! icon_lol.gif

How the hell do you guys grind stuff down to 1 point? I cannot comprehend the amount of tedium involved.

Grats Ben! I managed to climb into top 20 in the same bracket after seeing the 2nd cover for top 50 was pulled. Barely hung on myself but glad to see you got the extra cover!

I started 5 hours before the end of the sub by hitting the hard subs I knew that would eat health packs. And yes the tedium was frequently punctuated by cursing the AI for the constant multi-row matches that would guarantee lots of damage.

As above, grinding one means starting from at least 2 hours from the end of the sub. Did it twice for Carnage... should have just skipped him as Grim seems the more useful.

Forget the tedium. I don't have enough health packs to that.

After being totally underwhelmed with my 5/3/2 Gamora's performance in this event, I completely slacked off on the weekend. I won't come close to that red Gamora progression and don't seem to care. She's going to be a bench-warmer for a long time, and likely won't get finished until a few DDQ cycles go by.

Her green outright sucks, especially in comparison to 2* Storm's blue. More expensive, less damage, less useful stun. Despite being a higher * character and over 50 levels higher! Maybe Wind Storm is OP, I don't know, but the gap between the two skills is so huge that it's frankly hard to believe.

You really need to have her black at 5. She's fantastic in her featured pvp and any events where she gets to tank.

My Ultron team was Gamora, Iron Fist and Classic Hawkeye. Always kills Ultron before I notice.
