i'm actually kinda into these goon nodes (with the caveat they aren't feeding the active enemy the right color AP - i do also recall wiping to yelena and recoiling in embarrassment)...but very manageable otherwise with Lcap or even squishier guys like loki, falcon, or OBW if the scaling's not too crazy. which, it hasn't really been for me in this event, i'm killin it with no community scaling. hooray for hella beast covers...?
I love how three straight replies to my post all essentially say "LCap, easy, duh."

My LCap is 0/2/1, guys. Not everyone on this forum is a 20+ max-3* cover player.
That's no excuse. 85% of players have access to 2*Cap, 100% of players SHOULD have access to OBW.

    Goons are easy fights.

Goons scaled so high for a reason, ya know.

So, did anyone else experience odd scaling in Wakanda? So far, this PVE has been a blast, long and grueling, but nonetheless, fun! But last night, for the first time in this PVE, i had a node scale out of control, and lost all 10 health packs trying to beat it.

Final node, (IM40, BP, Goon) first run through was lvl 178, not hard, 2nd was 182, not hard, (now 8 hours later) 3rd was 229 (**** with the huge jump) , lost twice, but finally beat it, when i went to try it before bed last night, they were all 341..jumped 111 levels without being touched ..needless to say, no amount of boosting helped and i could not beat it (close with mags, lthor, hood)
last night was tough, but doable for me. used some health packs but nothing out of the ordinary. in fact my first clear of dc this morning didn't require any packs to finish it, which is nice. I got some good boards and a couple of cascades, so I fully expect the next couple of runs to be much harder after it scales for my good/lucky play.

Same, first clear today was cake. I do find it odd that even on nodes with no CAP, or a node with no GSBW, i cannot use team-ups for either of those chars. Not even on a 3 goon node.

Those characters aren't evil enough for Prodigal Sun *kappa*

nope wakanda was heaven compared to previous versions

Just finished Washington D.C. on my stream - someone said there were feeder goons but, didn't really notice it as it was overall pretty tame. Definite improvement from the previous Washington D.C.!!!!

apologies for the stock response, tried to throw in some other options as well. but as was mentioned, the 2* cap can serve the same purpose (although I don't really like using either of them if i can help it, just because of their pace)...i'm personally in a hellishly slow 3* transition (soft capped everyone @114 for the time being), and still think that dealing with goons was easier in 2* territory. if you've got enemies scaled to a 2* roster, with OBW any goon node is pretty do-able. i used to always run thor/magneto/OBW, use mags pink to clear lines with CD tiles and feed OBWs blue, and pray to the MPQ gods for some good cascades on thor's yellow...
  • Prodigal Sun: Hell's kitchen completed on my stream(should be in the archives now), thank shuma gorath they rebalanced this subevent and turned off community scaling - MUCH better now!

this event needs to end.. 7 day events are no fun when you really need t50 and multiple covers of the reward.. i don't have the stamina for this.

you "need" multiple covers of beast?

My poor beast is a whopping 0/2/2... so yah... no idea why he is one that i have issues getting.

Him, She-Hulk, Doc-Oc, and BP.. they avoid me.

I hate these 7-week (I mean DAY) events. It's like having a second job that might pay me 2 cards for seven days work...

That said, I have to go with raisin on the "need" part. Need is a bit strong for Beast, isn't it? I'm basically breaking down and building a Beast because after trashing what feels like the equivalent of 3 fully-covered versions of him (currently 4 covers AGAIN), I'm willing to see what happens... until one of my three "white whales" shows up anyway... icon_e_wink.gificon_e_biggrin.gif

If we could trade cards, I'd gladly donate mine to you so I wouldn't have to experience the pain of dumping even more 3*s... icon_razz.gificon_lol.gif

if I didn't feel the need for hp, wouldn't try nearly as hard. t50 every sub adds up tho, and I seem to be using quite a bit in pvp, but I've hit 1000 twice now, so there's that.

You make it sound like a bad thing that Beast avoids you!
My bracket is lazy as hell, hardly played this and somehow still scraping 5th....

Is there still a free Sentry cover for this?

Yes sentry red is still there. Probably a lot of people with sentry maxed out on the red because of the prior runs of this event.

Seven days is way to long. My bracket the leader effectively won this event days ago. I also can skip the last day completely and it no longer makes a difference.

Still prefer the scaling on this one though.

Having to take Cap in the essential nodes kinda sucks. I guess it's better than the alternative - getting a thousand claps. That sucked a little bit more.

Sentry red node started higher than nodes near final grind .. youch.. i will beat it though. (first try, they obliterated me).

i saw it and decided to do big enchilada first lol. i'll get around to it. lthor being locked out will hurt me, but i should have enough other boosteds to pull through.

according to some ppl, the bracket-leader winning "days ago" is a "benefit" of 7 day events icon_cool.gif

Also, I know there's some confusion - Sentry node shows up after you complete ALL non-essential nodes. Called 'the final choice'.

Just finished "Thunderbolts Mountain" on my stream in case anyone wants to see what you're up against!

Finally got through the Thunderbolts Mountain for the first time in ever... in the past my roster kept getting clobbered around "Rescue The Sentry VI" - got the Red Sentry. Not sure if I want to grind enough to get the Red Magneto, though.

icon_mrgreen.gif They should keep no scaling simply because it helps players like you have access to more content.

    That's awesome. icon_mrgreen.gif

    PS: grind mag, he's awesome.
  • How far do I need to go to get the Sentry?

    Wondering if I should bother...

Hope this is in time for you if you still want to try, but for the Sentry red cover you need to complete all the standard Easy, Hard and one-time nodes, before another two (one-time) nodes open up of which the second one gives the red cover.

This means you need to complete the 3 paths available to you once you begin (Middle is one-time, right is Hard, left is Easy). Essentials are not necessary for the final 2 nodes to open up. So 12 nodes need to be completed for the cover, be warned that the final node is not an easy one (managable but not easy).

    Hope this helps!

I didn't bother with the red Sentry, since I have no roster slot for him anyway, and my node had a level 159 (I think) 3Thor in it.

I beat everything else with my Magneto+Ares+Loki team, but I didn't feel like potentially wrecking against that Thor for the sake of a cover I didn't really want nor need. I hit my T150 goal without it so my Beast is now 1/1/1 (whee icon_razz.gif ).

    On to the next event...

First, I really appreciate the response. That said...

This is becoming more of a thing for me, but I'm not even going to bother. The amount of work I've been investing lately to get 1/13 of 1/84 (and constantly growing) of the available materials in this game is just unreasonable.

    Back to MFF!

    Cheers!
