    Yah, this is spot on.

With the wallpaper being a generic whitish, are you planning on using that space to promote characters/events?

I can understand the blank space if you use it, change it up, toss in some niftyness.. but as it stands, if you are not, then allow us some color schemes to choose from.

I kind of like the feel of the site overall.

The black text on the white background is just a bit too bright.
Quoted text is much easier to read than the normal text... I'll just have to quote my own text to have it be legible. icon_e_smile.gif
The banner on the top is a bit big and I don't like that it stays there. If it is going to stalk me, it should be less intrusive, otherwise, can it recede after a few seconds or when you scroll down, then slide back down when you move your cursor to the top? Or does that impact mobile viewing? Anyway, with the size it currently is, I expected it to remain at the top of the page and be able to scroll past it, but I view it in a minimized browser so it is taking up valuable real estate.
I won't be making use of the old format anytime soon since this one doesn't really bother me... though it was nice of you guys to make it available. I'm a visual guy and I'm immediately drawn to this new site. Good effort, just need to tweak it some more.
  • The banner on top takes up quite a bit of screen space - I'd prefer if it was reduced a bit, or, failing that, if some stuff was moved onto it (putting the navigation information - the Board Index > Marvel Puzzle Quest > General Discussion - might be a better use, since there's enough room for it if everything's moved up a bit).

Yah i know, quoting myself is sad.. but does anyone think they left those margins and the wallpaper for a reason?

If so, can we get a dev to use it? Toss up some Vision or Ultron side bars or something!

Use my Stylish override sheet for a quick-fix, if you want.
It cuts down the fat on that banner substantially.

Also, if the publisher doesn't pick up the slack; I'll be putting in some time on building out that stylesheet further to cover more aspects of the forums to make them usable on desktop systems again.

Speaking of which; this revision should clear up the wasted space on the topics list:

Can we kill the black bar? On !y tablet I can't even see what I'm typing. It blocks my text. Typing this blind so excuse any typos.

With the developers' love of metrics and analytics and possibly other ics, are they tracking the following:

Number of users using the new style
Number of users opting instead to use the old style
Number of guests sticking around to use the new style compared to before the change (as guests can't choose the old theme, they can vote only with their feet)

    Just wondering...

    One last thing.

It turns out that you don't have to log in to be able to use the old theme. A little experimentation shows that this works.
  • The new forum lay out is too BIG and BOXY.

Plus, I really like the feature on the old forum layout that highlighted all conversations that I had not read yet in RED.

And I agree with the sentiment that the bar at the top of the page is too big. It also does not remember when you choose to go to the old layout. As soon as you click to go to a new page, it reverts to the new layout.

The old layout was easy, to the point, and the Mods did a great job of keeping things in the proper sub-forum. The only problem I had with the old layout was the lag/crashes when too many people were on and it would time out.

Is there a way for the devs/site mod to add an option in our personal settings that will automatically take us to the layout we desire? Because the new layout is too hard on the eyes and it just... icon_neutral.gif

@_RiO_ For those of us not browser code savvy, can you give us a walk through on how to do this? Maybe create a separate post and have one of the mods to sticky it?

On my phone, the new site allows me to see 2 posts at once instead of all of the posts at once. That's a terrible downgrade in functionality.

Adding "Style=1&" after ".php" has literally saved my ability to browse the site, since I most often use it while not signed in, and the "Old Site" option is not available to me when not signed in.

With the forum style change, my buddy cannot access the forum at work. I was going to tell him to go to the old theme, but since you need to be logged in in order to access the old theme, and he cannot access the new theme to log in.... ?

Do you folks supply a workaround link for places that block certain sites...? To make it look like a business site instead of a forum site or some such?

For instance.... Those who find they are blocked from HCRealms.com at work can access it via domain redirect at MOREPROFITSMOREPROBLEMS.COM

if he can access google, use google translate, and translate it to english. You will be able to access the site, and your work will think you are just on google, as it will run in a shell inside of google, with a google ip address, and never actually know where you are.
