Hi everyone,

Welcome to the new D3 Go! forums!

After some server downtime this morning you're likely noticing some changes around here. There's still some dust to sweep up and a few things that need tweaking, but we're ready to get the improvements underway.

D3Publisher is now D3 Go! and along with our new name, we have a brand new website where the forums will now live. The old url will still work, but we are now officially located at d3go.com/forums. With this new change, you should find that the forums are now more mobile-friendly (and more pleasing to the eye).

We appreciate your patience as we get our new sites into top shape and work out all of the kinks. Enjoy the fresh coat of paint and improved functionality and thanks for being part of the D3 Go! community!

*Note for forum veterans - we'd love it if you give the new-look forums a try for a while. However, if you still prefer the legacy look, you can view the "Old Theme" using the link at the bottom-right of the screen.

    I'm digging it.

Not a fan for a lot of reasons, but 2 things stand out.

    1. The contrast between the white of the forum and the awfully patterned light-grey background isn't high enough. It hurts the eyes. Hurts! This is a rather severe violation of website best practices. Please darken the background and ditch that pattern. Serves no purpose and is actually a detriment.

    2. The link at the bottom of a thread to go back to the sub-forum is missing. Having to scroll all the way back to the top to continue reading other posts is just a nuisance.

    Thanks.

We are looking into improving the functionality of the Old Theme. Right now it doesn't seem to want to remember your preference and clicking links within posts brings you back to the new theme. Please stay tuned while we tweak that into shape.

We are also looking to add (breadcrumb) links at the bottom of pages as well to help with navigation.

My biggest complaint is that the site/forums doesn't resize itself to my screen resolution and I therefore have a lot of white space on either side of the page when viewing on anything larger than a laptop screen (approx 1200 wide). It does resize itself down from this width automatically, but it still makes for a very poor user experience compared to the old theme which is always full screen width.

I like the new theme on my iPhone, so much easier to navigate and click on things without as much zooming like I had to before.
  • Thumbs up from me so far, looks much more modern.

It's always an adjustment period to get the hang of a new site layout. I love that the graphic was removed to keep things simple. Initial impressions are positive. I'm not sure why the old layout needed improvement to begin with but I'll adapt.

I'm not seeing this. I switched to the old theme and it's remembering it fine. I've not had it switch back at all.

Mobile user (iphone) and it's a mixed bag at first glance. The interface for commenting is quite a lot better but when you have quotes within quotes it's an absolute mess, almost impossible to read.
  • Glad I'm not the only one suffering from the new theme.

I switched to the old one, and it's far more pleasant for the eyes.

The new section titles are too big for me.

FYI, I did not know my password, so I clicked on "Forgot your password" link, and I landed on "this page does not exist".

Found my password digging my emails, fortunately, or I could not have logged in again.

I think it's more to bring it in line with the new site design so it feels like a part of the main site and not a separate entity.

I can get used to this one. The one last week just seemed too flashy to me. This is much more simple and straight forward. I also like the Games/News/Blog/Forums options at the top.

I have to agree. I had to switch to the old theme because my eyes were hurting so much.

Disappointingly the change has truncated Daveomite's masterpieces (along with the picture signatures and presumably the meme threads too). That is a real shame!

Edit: didn't need to shout, not sure why meme needed caps...
  • For me, the old theme being less flashy makes it a bit easier to get away with browsing while at work. If someone walks by and sees my screen it doesn't stand out so much. (I can't be the only person wasting time on the clock on here, right? icon_e_biggrin.gif )

I find the new theme to be visually pleasing, however for a PC user it utilizes screen real estate poorly. I can only see half as many topics on the screen as before, and it doesn't use the full width of my screen. So it requires two to three times as much scrolling to see the same amount of information. If you could get the same screen utilization as before with the nice new look and feel that would be great, but for me I'll take the usability over the esthetics.

My biggest problem with the forums on mobile has been that the link to jump to the first unread post in a topic is tiny and very easy to miss when you're trying to tap it. I was hoping the update would fix that but it hasn't been any easier in the new theme.

Also, you guys are having some issues with nested quotes on small screens: http://imgur.com/n8ZpZRA

It's FAR easier on the eyes to read anything inside the quoted text by the way.
Makes me want to post all future responses like this.
