Is there any information from the dev that SW is not going to be a 2*? Considering the comparison to C.Storm's Wind Storm for her Purple, I'm afraid she may be a new Glass Cannon of a 2*.

Click the link. The screenshots clearly show her being a 3*.

Ah, I see now. Those weren't loading last night for me and I couldn't see any of them.

You would call that perfect diamond shape chaotic?

I think it creates purple tiles randomly in a radius around the tile. That's chaotic.
Its not a regular square shape and you must have some control over her green. I dont mind her blue being really random, but if you want a usable special tile remover you cant go with a totally random choice of tiles around the target.

According to datamining you can choose the tile her green centers on but the burst is randomly determined.

Wanda runs Purple/Green/Blue with each of her abilities taking on a different aspect of her chaos magic. Her Purple, Reality Crush, is her heavy hitter that deals damage and stuns opponents facing off against it. This attack deals heavy damage to the entire enemy team then stuns one enemy for a couple of turns. At max level her attack hits harder and stuns longer than MPQ fan favorite Storm (Classic)'s Wind Storm. And since it uses Purple AP to do it, it provides a damage outlet on a color that generally doesn’t have one.

The Queen of Chaos’ Green ability is Hex Bolt, which is a somewhat chaotic—of course—utility spell. Her Bolts are relatively cheap at 8 AP and destroy a single basic tile. At that point, it then destroys a number of surrounding tiles that will pop any Attack, Protect, or Strike tiles that it happens to hit. In the process, it will also give the AP from the destroyed tiles, so it can be used not only to get rid of enemy special tiles but also as a tactical AP generator. At max level, it even gains the ability for the surrounding tiles destroyed to include Countdown or other more unique special tiles, letting Scarlet Witch deal with just about anything the enemy can throw at the board.

Lastly, Wanda’s Blue ability is a boon to both her Reality Crush ability and anyone else that uses Purple AP for their own abilities. Arcane Incantation, a passive ability, creates a random Purple Countdown tile each turn if Wanda doesn’t already have one out. After a few turns, it explodes, creating Purple tiles in surrounding squares. The resulting tiles will create easy to make matches—if they don’t match themselves—causing cascades and more AP generation. The end result is a somewhat slow and chaotic escalation of Purple AP generation for the team, which can then result in the explosion of a Reality Crush down the line.

I guess it depends on how many purple it creates, but if that CD tile starts anywhere lower than 3, this seems like a potentially broken (nerfable) ability

It will be Beast's old blue ability where it essentially collapses on itself, and he usually generated 3-4 AP, more if it showed up near blue tiles, so if her purple is the cost of say Deadpool's purple, then this seems okay and if it's on a 3 countdown it's only 3-4 AP every 3 turns, yeah that' not broken, just curious about the green if it's as powerful as it seems I don't see it lasting long at 8 AP unless it only blows up like 8 tiles upon max level so essentially you are trading 8 green for 8 random thus not broken.
  • Just based off this pre-release information, it really seems like she's going to run circles around her brother. Shouldn't it have been the other way around? icon_e_wink.gif

Sounds like she'll be nerfed. Only a matter of when. The only reason i can think of that they would make her abilities strong right now is because of the movie and the new Ultron event. Once the hype and the movie is over, she's fair game for the nerf bat. Those who want to spend real $$$ on her, think real carefully.

How long do you think it'll be before she gets nerfed? (Would be interesting to have a poll on this)

she's totally gonna get nerfed. They're gonna take ap generation out of the game like true healing
  • Not every AP generation ability has to be overpowered. If it takes 3 turns for the CD to kick in, then that's probably manageable. The Fisk Defense sure isn't overpowered and it generates AP, but not very fast. I think there's a general undercost for passives in this game so it has a good chance of ending up being overpowered, since you should be able to get 3 passives for free in an ideal case and still cover every color, and yet some of the passives seems to be designed assuming you'd have to give up a color for that which is usually not true. Usually it makes no sense to double up abilities on a color anyway and you're almost always better off with a decent ability + passive in that color instead of decent + great ability in that color.

Fisk is more of an AP trade(It'd be more valuable in MTG, but that's a different conversation), but I mostly agree with you.

I can just see her getting nerfed because they've been so harsh on all AP generators(Hood Magneto Mystique 4*Thor)

I just like her color combos. Finally someone to match with all the Red/Yellow/Black that have hit recently(ish).

    Hey MPQers!

Scarlet Witch will make her MPQ debut with the new Avengers vs. Ultron Event! You will be able to earn her character starting tomorrow!

Until then, Casey's got you covered with a ton of comic recommendations. Did you know that she started made her Avenger debut in 1965? Or that she married an android? Head over to the reading list for the full list.

We have a pretty big list this time around. Something now there? Please let us know!

I was hopping a better character. She will be quite good but I thought she would belong to the top tier list.

Her purple is juste weak compare to the Deadpool one. 1800 team damages less for just a strong stun ? Her green is not really amazing either, it's just a fine and cheaper version of the Storm's green. On the other hand her blue seems strong

I think she will be really interesting with Deadpool in 3/5/5, but I will see if I'm right when I will play her.

    Thank, IceIX.

    Mixed feelings...

Reality Crush is nice but 70 extra levels and 3 more AP barely lift it above 2* Strom's damage, and it is a massive stun but random isn't ideal.
Of course, 100%+ health elevates her over Storm!

Hex Bolt would be nicer outside of green - 8 AP for 5AP with solid tile destruction isn't shabby at all.
I'd say very good in the right team (e.g. with anyone who has a massive non-green attack), but not one you want to pair with just anyone.

Arcane Incantation is a lot of fun - at 5 covers pretty much guarantees a free match every 3 turns.
It's no comparison to a 3* AP support specialist, but it is enough to make her a high priority target with 8.5k health in PvP and a solid choice for over-leveled goon fights in PvE.

I'd say 5|3|5, and would like to collect. icon_e_biggrin.gif

Not quite as "op" as people were shouting when the pre-release info came out. She seems like a solid mid tier character but random stun should never be a thing and isn't worth taking lower damage compared to Deadpool's whales. Definitely thinking 355 with her as her blue could be nasty with Fury or Deadpool.

Getting 1 extra tile for 5 Green vs. 3 Green seems like a pretty lousy deal. Any before anyone points out, "but you can also destroy Ultron tiles at 5", this event will long be over before anyone has her fully covered.

Yes, it looks like the trend is for new chars:

    4* = mid/high tier 3*.
    3* = mid/high tier 2*.

    Feels a bit sad.

The worst thing is they are not completely useless, so they wont even get a respec-buff.

I think any x/x/5 is fine, with the others are conditional on when/how you want to use her.

I'm personally leaning 4/4/5. 5 green is really just a question of "do you want this to deal with countdowns/invisibility tiles. That's a nice condition, but don't think it's worth more than the extra damage/stun from purple. At the same time, the AP generation makes it at least worth maximizing the tiles.

This does violate my "don't **** the biggest damage" mantra, I think the other two are powerful enough to skimp, since she'll mostly be a support piece rather than primary damage dealer.
