It's quite easy to finish in top 45 with OBW + whatever. I did that before the nerf and after nerf the relative placement is still unchanged (there just aren't that many marauding 3* doomsday teams out there). That'll get you the basis to start building your team.

At any rate, if you want to build a 3* team, what you need is Iso8, not covers. You'll quickly find out just how much Iso8 these guys suck up.

Well, I must be a much worse player than you are. I never manage to finish placed high enough to get any of the 3-star covers, except on very rare occasions, and in these cases I'm sure it's rubberbanding. And yes, I see many "marauding 3-stars doomsday teams" out there when I play. Are you lucky enough that you don't?

Now your last sentence is somewhat confusing...you say I need Iso8, not covers. So please explain to me how on earth am I supposed to level up a character without covers? Am I expected to buy those covers for the paltry sums they cost? I have tons of Iso8 in stock - exactly 58,723 - and no character to spend it on.

How exactly did you level up your heroes without covers? I'd appreciate it very much if you'd tell me.

As long as you're not facing Magneto (classic) the high level teams aren't as intimidating as they appear. If you don't have Spiderman you can't fight a team with Spiderman unless you're extremely good at this game, but Spiderman is getting less popular in the meta game because he doesn't deter high level aggression at all (because every high level guy has a Spiderman too, who owns his mirror match). If you're adversely affected by Thor/Wolverine nerf, you should just shoot for hitting around 20th place (higher the better, naturally) with 3 hours left to go on a tournament and shield. This almost always will ensure you finish with a top 45 which gets you one 3* cover. Do not make the mistake of thinking you can be competitive in the last 3 hour when the frenzy begins.

Hmmmn I find Spidey to be very weak and easily killed.

When his blue skill is at lv 4 or 5 your pg will always be stunned. Trust me, at lv5 the bu cost only 2 AP, so you don't kill so easily Spider-Man, especially with a 2-star team.
