  • Wow, got through ares and juggernaut only to run into ares and juggernaut again in the final node. Nice! My team hasn't recovered from the last match. Awesome icon_evil.gif ..... icon_rolleyes.gif
  • Was top 5 over the weekend. Now the workweek starts, so time to take a dive. No way I can do anything of worth in these 12am-12pm subs.

Hopefully that's true of approximately 999 other players. But it won't be.

I was looking at a lazy top 50 when I joined, but since I had the time I managed to get up to 1/2 position. I'm actually off this week and strangely enough can continue to do roughly optimal clears. I may still relax into a top 10, but this will be the last one for a while where I can or will fight for top 10 position. Just feels too much like work at this point.

I have gotten a recruit token from each of the missions so far, no 3*'s icon_cry.gif Currently ranked in top 50, so should be able to try out Khan soon. Question though, why were all other missions 2 at a time, but Russia standalone?

Ah! You missed the point of D3 doing this----convincing players to buy heal packs. icon_twisted.gif

To give us grinders a small break for the start of the work week? I'll be honest. I stayed up til 4 am this morning to ensure my top 25 placement in my season bracket. So less grinding = much needed break for me personally today.

I also have a 12am-12pm sub. I was battling for 1st due to this awesome lazy working weekend, but now I'll be taking a bit of a slide due to actual work as well. I'm hoping I can still achieve top 10 though!

Remarkably I only fell to 21st when I went home around 1pm est. So what little I did do was enough to maintain some placement.

Kinda wish the 1-sub event was overnight, but that'd be asking for logic in a game mode that generally has none.

I fell from 1st to 2nd. Lol. I'm kinda glad we have the 1 sub going on right now. The nodes that start at 12 am, I can do one clear when it starts and maybe 2 clears before I go to work.

  • Was ranked 20th after 3 days of steady playing. Won't be for long now. My phone had to be factory reset and when I re-downloaded Puzzle Quest, it started me from the beginning. I went into the help section on the app and sent them a message about what happened but it said it can take 24-72 hours for a response at which point the tourney will already be over.

  • Right now, in 7th. With a bit over 36 hours left, there's about 14k between me and 11, and about 10k between 10 and 11. I think keeping top ten - while it wont be easy - probably requires me to just keep up my pace at this point, and I'll be fine. If I can widen my lead at all, I think I can just about lock down top ten before the last set of subs.

I have to say, while I'm hating the 12 hour subs, I'm absolutely loving running the nodes with my newly maxed Blade and maxed Patch. Keep Your Enemies Closer + BR = destruction.
  • after reaching 36k points i didn´t get blade cover. I have points over now but reward is not ticked. Have someone same problem?

What are people doing to battle Rags? He's more annoying NOW, than ever......

For Thunderclap you just tank it. If you got someone who can true heal it's good but any people in the 6800 HP or higher class can withstand a couple of Thunderclap just fine. If there's a ridiculous number of blue (like 15+) on the board maybe you want to make a few blue matches just in case it cascades into something huge.

For Godlike Power, consider yourself lucky if you've to worry about that instead of Onslaught or Unstoppable Crash.

For Lightning Rod, Surgical Strike counters it trivially (Ragnarok will usually have highest match if it's not a goon, and quite a few goons are on green for strongest). Otherwise the standard strategy of clearing out the color (in this case, green) matches before a charged tile is on the board still applies if you want to be safe. Or you can just leave them alone and hope the AI doesn't match it.

He should be saved for last out of guys that can move the board so that Lightning Rod wouldn't heal anything.

To add to Phantron's post, Blade's AP drain has also been useful for me, both to deny Ragnarok's green ability and to power up (in my case) Thor.

Thor's yellow (2 or 3* version) does a great job of scooping up all those charged green tiles.

Blade is gdlk, especially when enemy has goons. Blade + green/black AP boost = gg

When facing a high level Rag, my regular team is Patch/Laken/Blade. The key to winning against Rag is to ensure his green doesn't go off against your team and cause aoe damage. And Rag has to be taken out last. You could afford to let Rag fire off blue to self heal because you're saving him for last. As someone else pointed out, Blade is a wonderful character to use against Rag. If you concentrate on making purple and black matches, while ignoring red to the extent possible and let Patch/Laken absorb any red attack fired off by Rag, you can slowly build up a tile filled, AP draining board to set up a one-turn knockout of Rag.
