There are plenty of threads discussing the new PvP format, but no poll. Let's keep this simple: "Yes", "No", or "I don't know".
You may change your answer any time in the next 5 days.

Yes, but I hate Ares buffed0

It's made PVP something other than the X-Force/Goddess show, so it's a good thing solely on that. Even if it turns into a rotating show of everyone using the same two buffed people every week, it'll increase variety in PVP enough to make it a lot less boring.0

Yes. I love it. Facing teams at high level scores that are not just xf 4thor is great. Finding a high value xf 4thor target and crushing them with torch/hood/loki is even better.0

Recently I have been putting all my ISO into Patch so that I could Hulk bomb........and that really didn't work very well this event at all because Patch's strike tiles were too strong, and he was tanking all but black making it harder to get Hulk out front to use his anger. So I had to change it up and find something else. I actually liked that. Doing the same thing every event gets boring.0

Yes, LOVE it. I didn't fight a single Goddess in the Torch event, and only a handful of Xforces. Got to break out my Fury, who is lvl 270 but very rarely gets any play. There are several characters I'm looking forward to being boosted if this continues that are good, but not good enough for high level PvP play until you jack them up to lvl 280 (Colossus, Deadpool, Lcap, Cyclops to name a few)0

I like 280 3Thor for sure. 4200 Thunder Strike and 15k Call the Storm is hilarious. Once I got into typical 3* range (600+ points), it was mostly 3Thor-Hood, with Loki, Patch, XForce, and the rare Fury sprinkled in, which is definitely still better than Xor all day every day.
It'll definitely be interesting to see the dynamic when some of the lesser/awful characters get their day in the sun, but so far so good.0 -
I think an option we would appreciate more than multiple buffed characters, would be the option to place the essential character in any spot we want. Him/her being always in the middle is reducing their usefulness. I haven't entered the HT pvp yet so if this is already implemented, ignore this post.0

It seems like it is just a band aid that delays the inevitable. what they should be doing is creating some better balance. MnMags balance looks like a good start, but then they nerfed 4 thor. When there are so many 4*s that need buffs to make them worthwhile. At this rate, many of the upcoming game changes will be reminiscent of the story Harrison Bergeron. enjoy your handicaps so everyone is mediocre.0

Voted for "Can't decide yet." I liked the idea in theory: bring more diversity to PvP and make use of a large 3* roster that I had continued to build out. In practice though, I didn't really enjoy it. Not sure why. My character selection for it was just fine. Plenty of options. It just felt like way more of a grind, match after match. I usually dislike the Wednesday end-times anyway and I still need to get used to not using Goddess, so maybe the next couple events will have a better feel.0

Not in this format.
Having 2 buffed 2*s and 3 buffed 3*s might be good, but it's overkill now. Also how about buffing them only 20 levels or so?0 -
I voted yes, but there is a caveat. I think the buff needs to be tweaked slightly lower.0

This is Balance of Power all over again, I personally hate this PVP. Every match is a slog, takes longer and you need to use more health packs even to climb to 300. Please keep the overscaled opponents to PVE, this isnt fun at all.0

Buffing other characters kinda takes away from Highlighting the "featured" character, wouldn't you say?0

I really like this idea, but...MikeHock wrote:Buffing other characters kinda takes away from Highlighting the "featured" character, wouldn't you say?
There is some validity to this statement - maybe the featured should be buffed better?0 -

He still is the anchor to the team and literally in every match. The old system trivialized featured characters more IMO, this way you can build a team around the feature instead of having a duo do all the heavy lifting while a different required character rotates in and out.0 -
This was a pretty miserable experience for me. There is no way to distinguish yourself from anyone else. There is no "defensive" team when every team is the same and so overpowered they can all beat anyone else. Then there is the health pack issue. I climbed to 4-500 with just patch/daken and STILL used 3 health packs just for torch (who wasn't even maxed so he only tanked red).
Did anyone play in the last 3 hours of the event? It was pure frustration. You can't gain any ground cause the guys at 600 can see you and with their buffed 3* can beat you no matter what team you're running. So you just keep pace on your treadmill til you resign yourself to not going anywhere. It at the very least puts the 1k progression at least one shield hop away which was not true before.
Also I'm wondering what these people who enjoyed it so much were playing against. At least in my slice with my MMR, I fought probably 90% hood teams over 500 points, the other slot went to almost exclusively 3*Thor or xforce. How is this diversity? Oh a few people had xforce Loki or xforce/Thor instead, my bad, there's the diversity. Was gthor really that oppressive to you guys? She wasn't even hard to beat.0 -
I made my 1000 point progression and at the end saw teams with 3Thor, Loki, Hood, Patch, Fury, X-force, and Xavier in addition to Torch. In fact the only team I saw many repetitions of was HT/Loki/Hood everyone else seemed to switch partners quite often and finding the same trio over and over just didn't happen. I had choices of who to fight. I picked a fight with an electra I saw just because I never see her and never fight her outside PVE.
I myself was using max HT with Patch and an underleveled IM40, except for when I wanted to use hood or loki or Lthor, I even threw Psylocke in for funsies at one point.
Goddess wasn't opressive, and I don't think any of us wanted her nerfed as bad as she was. The problem was the duo of Xor. Still not oppressive, just difficult and boring to face over and over. Maybe less so for those who also were running Xor, but anything gets boring doing the same fight over and over again and that is true for the teams you use as well as the teams you face. Say what you will about this matchmaking test, but I was not bored.0 -
I will echo what some others seem to have posted.
I like it, but the buffs should be tweaked. The difference between the main guy and the other boosted characters isn't large enough imo. 290 vs 280 barely matters.
I'd suggest the old x1.5 buff for secondary characters and keep the new x1.75 buff for the featured guy.0 -
So far I have liked it. I used Patch Loki, HT up till 800 points and then shielded because I was doing home improvement projects all day so I didn't try and shield hop. This PVP I will probably go for 1000 points and the big challenge is how fast will teams be to shield hop. If it makes shield hopping I win and shield this will be an epic fail as it will crush the 3-4* transition. If you can now get to 1000 points with just 3* only using 2-3 shields it is a big win. Overall I think they need to make the 4* transition a little easier than just hit 1000 points in PVP or win PVP, or PVE.0

I really enjoy using some 3*s again vice just 4*s and the featured. It has created more variety and challenging battles in PvP. I have fallen in love with the game all over again. It was getting pretty stale. Buffed Thor pisses me off, but damn is he awesome at 280!0
