The sim is all about the hard nodes. No one plays them, so it's fairly easy to score big, and the hard nodes give out ~1K points per run through for essentials. I basically just do everything once, and then focus on the essentials. It gets stale sometimes, but I don't mind too much. I tend to get top 10 in hard sim (this and previous runs), and this time around I easily managed 45K pts. I didn't bother with the normal nodes, and when I did do them even a couple of times properly, I'd get into top 10 easily.0

I was planning on taking the whole event off, to gear up for the next one with a new hero. But I remembered that you can get the 1k and 2k nodes in 4 shots. I did those late in the first round, and I was top 50. I continued to play ultra-casual, clearing once, playing the essentials twice. I didn't get the progression, but I did get top 150 for a 3* cover to sell and some hp. Seemed all right to me.0

So sad to sign here, I still don't have a red punisher cover.
But I'm not going to deal with that grind. It's just not worth it.0 -
Seems like many of the nodes in this last round have been designed specifically to block Stormneto...0

If you can clear the hard sim nodes then the final progression is a breeze (I have barely played each set of subs(certainly not bothered clearing every 8 hours), not done a final grind of any description on any of the subs and I could still get the final progression with 10 hours to go at the end without too much effort, maybe just over 1 clear of everything..). On the other hand it is probably the most visciously scaled event bearing in mind it is chock full of heroes including a few that are REALLY nasty when scaled.
When there were 2:24 refreshes I would have argued that having a PvE determined by difficulty rather than grind was refreshing... not sure what the argument is for it now . I would however say that, if it is scaled such that 2*-3* transitioning folks can't get to the Punisher cover, it's over the top.
IMO it should be possible for those guys to get the 3* progression cover with a moderate amount of effort because it's an important transitioning boost in a part of the game that SHOULD be tailor made for them. Maybe Simulator isn't working like that with the scaling? Hard for me to tell cause my roster can kill basically anything... so even with the scaling making me face really high levels I can't extrapolate if the fact I can still clear them means a transitioner in the same position could...
I think they can get the covers, but they need to keep in mind this pve is different. The subs are 36 hours long and there are two sets of subs, so you have to play them a little differently especially with the "gauntlet" that is Simulator Hard. If I remember correctly, I think you can pretty much play just the normal sub, and the essentials in the hard to hit the progressive. You would need someone better at math than me, but that sounds correct.0 -

I created an account solely so I could post about this. I went into the final hard node vs. 2* Wolverine, Psylocke, and the Falcon with a team of Mohawk Storm, OBW, and the Human Torch and was wiped out almost immediately by the torrent of black that came rushing down the screen after the AI made their first match.
I've noticed lately that whatever algorithm they're using to generate what colors come up seems completely broken whenever there's too much overlap in the preferred colors between the characters. This is not the first time it's happened in the last two weeks, but it's the worst time. It made me want to throw my phone, but instead I calmly set it down to make this account and write this post which I assume will be ridiculed for "confirmation bias" or something similar.
The feeling that they're continuously beta testing their mechanics makes me far angrier than health packs, or broken brackets, or any of the other things people get up in arms about. When the gameplay itself gets broken, it's hard to stay engaged even after having spent money to add roster spaces and unsuccessfully shield in the last few events. Get it together, you guys.
[I do love the Daily Deadpool, though, so thanks for that.]0 -

36 hour subs means a maximum of 7.5 times the base clear. In the third sub the base clear for the easy nodes was approximately 3500. That would mean it is possible to get about 25,000 points in the easy sub. Since points increase by about 33% each sub, there was about 18,500 available in sub 2 and about 14,000 available in sub 1.
So with optimal clears of only the easy subs, it is possible to get about 57,500 points in this event. If you only get 2 clears at the end (instead of the full 6), the points available in the easy subs are about 49,000, enough to earn Punisher. Plus you would have the additional margin of any points earned on the hard subs.0 -
Totally skipped this event after a few nodes, i needed the red Punisher but didn't want the scaling or the drain i went to go try to learn how to shield hop for the IF and then Luke cage. didn't pan out for IF missed my last hop and lost 260 points in an hour , but got luke cage red and placed 7th overall on second attempt. the RNG pixies gave me the final red Punisher cover i needed from a random standard so i guess i didn't choose poorly.0
