I simply hate the notion of 4or being buffed... now everyone without her can kiss their IF goodbye

I'm confused on what the rewards would have to look like for the rich to not get richer.

New 3* covers for the bottom 400 and 2* covers for the top 100? People who can score higher will always win the top rewards. That's the nature of competition.

The rich will still win such an event and get richer because by having more characters, this allows you to lose more games than the poor transitioners and artifically increasing someone else's score so that they'd get top 100!

The reward structure isn't the problem. It's logical for the best covers in game to be the hardest to obtain.

It's just comical at this point that the meta game champs get a lvl 300 4thor to carry them to the top. Such is the world though.

I mean. This was 100% bound to happen at some point, no? And why not make the pvp with the best rewards the one where the best hero in the game is boosted?

4or is on such a level of overpoweredness, that no boosts, and especially to level 400, should ever be in place...

I understand people's complaints on buffed 4Thor from a game standpoint, but it would also be hugely counterproductive from Marvel's standpoint to have a Women of Marvel month to promote diversity and not highlight one of the biggest females to hit the comic scene in a long time.

LOL maybe because 4thor can already INSTAKILL every single character in the game before boosts??? It's cool, we both have 4thor. No skin off our back. MPQ gonna MPQ. Squash the little guys every chance we get. They don't pay the bills.

Hey everyone, look at this awesome new character. Now enjoying getting crushed by him by people who already have 270 4thor/xforce. Enjoy spending 100+ hours fighting over crumbs...great business model. Longevity is a certainty.

    edit: lvl 405 4Thor, 24,484k health LOL

Question, why was the 3* character I got from the Women of Marvel character...a black Hood cover? Surely those tokens should give out females only, right?

Does anyone else find it a bit strange that the artwork on the recruit token page for this event includes Star Lord, Rocket and Groot? I realize this is the same artwork from the Heroic token page, but that's three male characters used to promote the "women" of Marvel event. Seems a little lazy, if not counter-productive.

I originally thought it was Starlord being surrounded by the sexy ladies...kinda thing.
Then I saw Rocket & Groot and wondered what was up...
  • Chances are, the people in charge of the layout don't give it a second thought beyond, "Let's put up portraits of featured / popular heroes to help market to the hopelessly addicted gamblers."
  • Is there any thread regarding bracket sizes for this pvp even? I would like to jump in a fresh bracket as late as possible to try and get the top 5 reward. Since I don't have a thora it'll be impossible to hit top 5 by joining a bracket that has started before joining it.

"Best" bracket of death ever oHznOKYl.png
This probably cured me from pre-registering...

That's with 36 hours to go... and quite a few other known players outside top10 as well

Not typically. I have unconfirmed suspicions that there are multiple brackets that fill during a slice in PVP based on a number of factors including MMR, sharding, etc. I join brackets around the same time each event and I get full brackets with 700 point leaders and sometimes I'm the 15th person to join. I haven't seen any pattern and with time slices, I feel like they fill at a much slower rate anyways that it is too difficult to try and game.

Also, for those that jump in late (not me), they are probably trying to rack up the most rounds they can in the last 45 minutes rather than posting on the forums. Best of luck! I don't have a usable 4hor either and it makes the "have nots" fighting like mad in hopes of top 25. Hoping the sheer hit points of Capt Marvel / She Hulk will at least make a few 4hors look elsewhere. Otherwise, I got no shot.
  • The fact that I don't have a usable 4* Thor, combined with the scramble for IF covers, combined with the fact that I can't use a good shield strategy on a Friday ending event, combined with the fact that IF Green should be in the DDQ within 2-3 weeks, means I think I'm not going to kill myself for top 25 in this. If you have 2 Green covers already from the PVE, and you plan on building IF 3/5/5 (as I do), keep in mind top 25 might not be as critical in this as it might first appear.

Hopefully, the 900 prize on his PVP will be Purple. And I'm hoping for some useful covers as the reward for that one. I hate having to shield hop just for one cover.

Hmmm, the only reason I can see that they could justify keeping the artwork the same (but with a red background filter) as the Heroic token page for the WoM token page is that both Star-Lord & Rocket and Groot have variant covers this month. So, I can see including them. I suppose. But then they've got Luke Cage and Deadpool in there with Moonstone. There's a variant for Deadpool but not Luke Cage. So there's that. Yeah maybe this is lazier than I first thought.

It doesn't matter if you join a fresh bracket or an old one. You will have more time to climb but you can't get so far ahead that no one can catch you like in pve.
Joining late can easily backfire because brackets are open for several ours. I had cases there my bracket wasn't full at the end although I joined 6 or 7 hours earlier.

I took it as someone looking to join in the last hour and do an epic climb in a fresh bracket. It's a risk reward where you are trying to climb faster than your bracket and hoping you don't hit the 4hor wall before the end to snag top prizes. To me, I think fresh brackets like these are more risk than worth and like a unicorn because of time slices.

6 hours hasn't felt any different than a typical bracket in my experience since you have multiple climb sessions possible where joining the last hour is more anniversary lightning round like and a fresh bracket matters.
