My observation is that when it's used to describe as state of emotion (i.e. "pissed-off"), or an action which is understood to cause another to be upset (i.e. "That teacher must really hate his students, watch the way he pisses-on them with his abusive criticism"). It's very profane to say "Piss-off!".0 -

As for the real problems, there's been a few. For example, certain characters still being too imbalanced and impractical to use. Like Moonstone etc. Their response to that is usually nerf the strong guys. And buffing Captain America in every PVE event instead of changing his skills to something more sustainable.
Omg Yes! Im like all this nerfing and experimenting, and the one of the biggest problems is not getting noticed. Ive had moonstone maxed and at level 50 for like a month and a half now. I refuse to put iso into her because all her powers suck in some way. I have plenty of iso to move her up several levels but i refuse.
Purple- cant warp what you want
Black- cost too much
Red-By time you get to use it there is no red left on the board.
Captian america yellow needs to be dropped from19 to about 13. If you face wolverine + bullseye his yellow starts to suck a litte. I love Captian A but it's not worth using him outside events.
Moonstone
The purple: would be better if it just shattered a single tile and did damage. Make it a little cheaper. It's worthless with special tiles on the board.
The black: Consider the cost of denying the opponent a countdown tile. How does one get rid of it? A match-3 is a good way, but that earns AP. If one could use an ability to clear a selected tile how much would it cost? That might be worth 3 AP. How much does it cost to create a countdown tile? Captain America's Peacemaker seems to be the most expensive at 12 blue but at 5/5 it returns 10 blue. Reducing timer to 2 turns in PVP isn't really useful, very few timers are more than 3 turns. We all know how many people use the 10 Yellow AP X-Force Wolverine Ability - Recovery at (5/5) with a 7 turn countdown timer. It would be a very special situation indeed, where I'd feel the need to put together 2-star magneto, dr. doom, and Moonstone for the sole purpose of snagging an opponents countdown timer, within 4 turns of a match. I can build a team around 2-star magneto, dr. doom, and bullseye for 16 black Murderous Aim.
There aren't any player countdown timers that I'd want to spend 17 AP for.
The Red: Higher base damage
Captain America Yellow
How about 9 AP. Spider Man uses 9 AP to heal damage. Why can't captain america prevent damage? By the time captain america gets 19 AP to put out shields, Bullseye has already matched 21 purple AP to place 7 shields on the board, and still has the AP. ( I realize it's unlikely to actually have 7 shields). Spider man can also create high defense shield tiles (depending on webs in play) passively. If Captain america stops receiving the insane buffs every PVE event, people will stop using him. Having 9 AP defense tiles makes him a useful party member (realize that one has to choose between dealing damage with Thor's Yellow or placing defense tiles with Captain America's yellow, there's opportunity costs).0 -
I don't think they are at all. The changes they are doing is in the best interest of the game and it's long term prospect. They already have said that a respec option is in their future plan, and are changing the way scoring works and watching how the changes are affecting actual gameplay.
Lest we forget, we are playing their game, not one we created from the ground up. For all we know, they could give their entire player base the middle finger and just make it so the games abilities are all the same, and deal 1 damage. That's the devs prerogative to do so (although for obvious reasons they won't).
As with any game, there will be outcries over changes directly affecting the player, whether that is from a majority, minority, or a fraction of the playerbase. As the saying goes, "You can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs."
Considering that it still considered in the opening phase, it's nice to see them trying different systems out. Being vulgar in response does nothing, but constructive criticism is always welcoming to the devs.
It's understandable that players such as yourself get emotional over the changes, but we have to remember that it's just a game, and not a lifelong commitment. It's like buying a dining room table and having the emotional attachment to it that makes you just want to cut your wrists if a scratch even happens to it. It really makes no sense whatsoever.0 -

With as little as I've been at the wrong end of a "Piss off!", it seems to me to be more offensive than "F-U!". I've must have been been desensitized.0 -

Where u from? I think piss-off tends go be used as a curse more in the UK/Europe than it does in the USA. We tend to say f-u as opposed to piss-off and use pissed off to show a state of anger. Not sure why it turned into something to infer anger though as the origin of the phrase piss-off is more like "go away and urinate, cuz you are full of it (urine as
opposed to fecal matter). ".
Also, why hasn't this thread been locked yet? Lol. O right...weekend0 -
Lmao @ soeno's weekend statement.0

Do you have something against Americans? That was uncaused for. We dont insult your country and probably could care less about it. I understand you dont care for this topic but . . .
Then again, that's not exactly uncommon in this country.0 -
I could also ask stupid questions like, Is BayvDang (a fictional character who isn't related to anyone) a gay or is he straight, then post a poll about it. But what purpose would it serve?
You want the poll, you post it.
If you want to troll me, have the decency to do it yourself. Don't expect me to troll myself for you.0 -

Too bad you can't add lines to poll without ruining it, a good next candidate row:
= replaced 100 HP to 50 on the high end of progression
I'm sitting on some unspent HP and skipping that tournament for other reasons, but I feel it's really just so cheap.0 -

Amazing. You completely failed to notice that I was simply mirroring toxicadam's words, whom you have by the way, left completely unmoderated.
Selective moderation triumphs fair moderation ftw. Bravo, selective moderator, bravo.
On a positive note, IceIX is actually paying attention to me!
Looks like the cynicism and ranting is really starting to pay off.0 -

I know, right? Was kinda nice.
Mechgouki, have you considered that maybe it wasn't just the one post, but an aggregate of all your recent posts that got you a time out? And that maybe you should reconsider your posting habits, rather than jump back into your hole and continue to dig?0 -
The negativity in my posts is inversely proportionate to the intelligence displayed by their recent decisions.
I mean, c'mon. Look at their most recent pvp change. Let's screw all the players in their tourneys and inflate the Shields prices just for the lulz!
Should I send them flowers and chocolates?0 -
A few of the decisions made seem unnecessarily cruel, especially to newer or casual players. My wife, for instance, has basically lost her incentive to play in the PVP tournaments because there are no attainable progression rewards that she can actually use. The restructure of the early progression rewards and the gradual withdrawal of HP from the PVP and PVE events seems like kind of a jerk move.
That being said, the overall direction of the game has not been bad. I don't think the developers are simply peeing on us.
Now, the more interesting part of this conversation: as far as obscenity goes, I think courts and television censors in this country look for explicit descriptions of bodily functions. This is why talking about s***ting as a bodily function is given less leeway than just saying the word as an all-purpose expression of your displeasure. I can only assume that this sort of reasoning extends to number 1, although I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have heard "piss" at all on television or radio until a few years ago.0 -

Very much so.0
