Is there some way my tablet could also administer a light electronic shock during the process? Let's go for a hat trick.
Light electronic shocks are in development, but no ETA.
I'm expecting that these changes and some others we've been making and that are planned will eliminate or seriously diminish the impact of 'MMR hell'.0 -
Should do, there'll be less people playing.0

You. I like you.0 -

So far the light electronic shocks seem to be the most useful change you have advanced.
And the only way the changes you have announced will help fix MMR hell is by making most of the customers quit playing out of sheer frustration.0 -

Thanks for the continued communications, Will, and for still being able to have some humor. I know a lot of us are voicing harsh criticisms of these changes, but we do it becomes we are so enthusiastic about the game. I know I took part of my day to come into give you guys feedback, and am personally disappointed in these changes because I feel they are antithetical to the feedback I gave in many respects. Looking forward to seeing some of these changes rolled back, otherwise I can only hope the the changes you have coming fix the system to make these changes make more sense.0 -
My two cents...I like these changes. It was suggested a few times that skipping should have a cost. I've found myself hitting skip over 20 times before fighting the ideal opponent. It looks a small penalty in ISO which isn't much of an issue. If you make it like 20 iso which is the same as a booby prize then that's ok. At least it isn't 5 HP per skip!
I'm glad the upward cap on who you can fight is removed. Bring it on!
Devs...can you look into how many game hours those top players are putting in? That's some serious screen time heh.0 -
Few changes in future:
Tournament fee - you have to pay to enter tournament - 100HP for begining
Skip option - if you skip you lose iso and a small amount of points in tournament
Max amount of points lost in one battle has been increased to 100
Max amount of points gained in one battle has been decreased to 25
New boost - sword - increased points gained in battle by 100% - it works similar as shield so you can buy it for 3,8 and 24 hours, oh ... it cost some HP
Healing characters nerf - healing can only be achieved using health packs
New pack, Reviving pack - if your character dies you must use this pack instead of Health Pack, Health pack only can heal character when character live. When character die and you want to use it in future you must use Reviving pack bcos character cannot heal when he is dead
Boost cost increase by 100%, you cannot win boost after winning match, you can only buy them using iso
You cannot see anymore what is your place in leaderboard, if you want to see it you must use a special dr Xavier power - Mind hack - cost 100HP
All of this changes come bcos "We want it to be most competitive at the top of the leaderboard"
More upgrades (downgrades?) comming soon...
.................................
And to be serious I don't care about new changes, I just need iso for my characters, but I am with all you guys who need covers and want to place high in leaderboard. I just don't have an idea how newcomers can fight with old dogs without spending money. Game is rewarding to me bcos only reward I need is iso. And Diablo is comming in 2 month so I will anjoy it MPQ to that time
One I am sure. Business model of this game is briliant and game producers of MPQ are my new gods0 -
Not to be rude but . . paying to skip is perhaps the dumbest idea you guys have come up with yet. Get real. All these new things are just stupid.0

What is the cost when you skip? Havent done it out of fear
There isn't one currently. People just like making conclusions about things before it ever happens.0 -
I like the drive to improve the game and the much improved communication with the community. The collection of feedback and number crunching will help the devs immensely. A couple of advices.
To the players: don't be afraid of change! Provide lots of honest feedback and the good stuff will stay, the bad stuff will be changed. Please notice that "good stuff" is not always what we want, i.e. easy goodies that would just kill longevity and drive.
To the devs: it would make sense to make changes to pvp BETWEEN tournaments, not towards the end. There is no usefulness in collecting data from an event messed with in the middle - and some players' plans get **** without any alert - yes, talking about the free targeting that was introduced PRIOR this post. Otherwise, I'm totally loving the red activity lately. Keep up the good work and please make the "red tracker" asap!0 -
But really, I might consider fighting people who have less points if the retaliations weren't set up in a way that they could turn around and take and additional 20+ points on top of what I 'gained' from attacking them0

I believe the changes coming would be fine if, if, if, if you have truly fixed the MMR. Until that is really fixed these changes can be disastrous.
If I am stuck in MMR Hell and I need 20 skips before I realize I'm stuck and have to play someone to get out of it I've lost whatever the "nominal" cost is because your matchmaking system does not work.
If i have worked hard to make a high score and all of a sudden am stuck skipping around looking for an opponent all while losing -50pt. attacks I am doubly punished because your matchmaking system does not work.
You absolutely positively have to fix matchmaking first and have a few tournaments completed which prove that. Based on Rage and Ruin I have already been stuck twice in the early stages in my typical MMR Hell seeing the same dozen players I always see. so if you think you've fixed the system at least with me you haven't.
In my opinion the only way these changes make sense is after matchmaking has been fixed and they should each be added stepwise with paying for skipping being the last one added.0 -
The only way they are ever going to actually fix the MMR hell problem would be if they went out and hired someone who knows how to write a decent AI. As long as you can consistently beat a more powerful team simply because the AI plays like a moron who barely understands the rules of the game there is very little that matchmaking is going to be able to to to create fair fights.0

'Fair' fights would suck though. As someone explained (I forget who, Phanton of Nemek maybe), if the chance of loosing were higher, people wouldn't have fun.
Fixing MMR has nothing to do with changing the AI, it has to do with how your ability is measured, and compared.0 -

So the better you are at the game, the more you get screwed - because the better you play the game the further above your character power you drift - which makes you a juicy target - so you get hit by more people that are worthless to retaliate against - nothing like losing 50 points to be able to retaliate for 0 - and soon they will charge you iso for the privilege of skipping such a worthless fight.0 -
This is so amazingly frustrating. Do you know how long it's going to take to grind our way up the ladder when every fight is only worth single digits? I played for hours this morning. Out of dozens of fights, maybe 5 of them were worth 15+. I was thrilled if I found somebody worth 10. And then I get hit by ONE person and lose 35-50 points?? Outrageous. Offer us matches that are worth something or lower the number of points lost for being attacked. To lose the value of 5 matches in one attack is ridiculous.
And then getting attacked by the same person three times in a row, for a loss of 35+ points each, when I haven't even retaliated against them?? If I haven't retaliated, remove me from their queue. They just keep skipping fights until I come back around and attack me again. One guy knocked me for 120 points in about 15 minutes. Even if there were an ISO charge implemented, a person would probably think it's worth skipping 10 fights to find the one poor shmo guaranteed to give them 50 points.
And then when I finally reach a number worth shielding myself for, I see that shield prices have increased. TWO DOLLARS for an 8 hour shield?? And a person may use 2-4 shields per tourney. And there's a new tourney every 3-4 days. Talk about money grubbing, Demiurge. You fix the issue with uphill climbing that people have been complaining about since launch by adding shields. Then you make shields pretty much inaccessible for anybody who's not willing to shell over 20+ bucks a month for SHIELDS. (10 tourneys a month, one 8 hour shield per tourney) F*****g absurd.
I've been playing since launch and I've stuck with it through a lot of development nonsense that caused other people to jump ship. I think this may actually be my limit. This is my Ragnarok.0 -

I'm not defending the current system. It needs changing. Just, those changes have nothing to do with the AI.0 -

Except that with a better AI, peoples MMR levels would be more closely related to the power levels of the characters that they have - and you would not see people being able to come out of nowhere for the 50-0 hits that we get now.
The only other thing I can think of that would help would be basing the points won/lost not on the number of points someone has in the tourney - but on their overall power ranking (just because someone has not started grinding in a tourney should not mean he has a major advantage over those who have been playing already)0
