Hi, High Stakes! - Season VII - Nov. 3 - 5

LThor for me is at 2/1/5. I've had luck in the fact that I've actually gotten 6 of his green, but not much of anything else. I chopped into my HP reserves to place top 25 for the 3 Blade covers. About to have to do it again for this...just not excited to see the level of competition in my bracket so far.0
-
Lucky for me, I don't care about the placement....I just care about that 1100 mark....this next tourney with Lazy should be interesting for me as I finally have him maxed for his tourney. Probably won't matter tho. for the win, right?0

Just saw someone with 1200 points. They must be going for 2k plus0

L 250 Thor should have a little more than 15k hit points. The problem is that everyone shield hopping will have that amount of health, so while hopping will be slower, it will be slower for everyone. People with a not-level-capped Thor will surely be targeted more, but that doesn't mean you're totally safe (you are NEVER totally safe).
15k hp is unfortunately within Sentry's op range of AOE damage + few rounds prior buildup.
Yeah, but it's enough that it's not an instant win. If every single one of the 16 WR tiles go off, which pretty much never happens, there's still 1.5k ish health left, which is within range of a single intimidate, yes. However, every missed WR tile takes about 850 damage off of the theoretical max of 13.6k damage, which extends the game by about a turn per WR tile matched/blocked by . And that's assuming that the actually stays around for all those turns0 -
Just entered this thing and have my leader shielded at 334. To me, you might as well light your cash on fire.
In all seriousness, is there any logical reason for shielding that low, this early?0 -
Anyone know anything about a player named Xman from alliance Mad Scientists?
They showed up in my nodes with a high score running a maxed Blade, Daredevil, Xforce lineup and their remaining roster was very odd to say the least, wth maxed Rags et all but no levels on their Sentry, Hood, Patch, etc.
Not making any accusations as of now, but everything looked odd enough that I am wary about attacking them, no matter how many points they are worth.0 -

If they are a new player, they are most likely spending some cash to get covers for the characters they CAN get. XFORCE buffed up is rather powerful. So they can be just plugins away. You don't have to have Sentry Hood to get to the 1300 levels.
The player is just having fun and most likely is just making resource(HP/ISO) mistakes, that many of us made when we started this game.0 -

Thanks, locked. Now I'm going to be obsessed with learning the Tao te Yama. How does he do it? Does he flow like water? Does he cleanse the soul before joining a PVP tourney?
I just shielded at 755 (my second highest PVP score ever, woo!) in 6th place. I know I'll probably drop out of the top 25, but I'm still proud of this one.0 -
I'm still finding my way with these things. I've worked fairly hard with my 2* lineup and have earned a decent number of points. But I've hit a wall where I can't improve and I keep losing battles (attacked) and they're making more by beating me than I ever made beating anyone.
1. Why do I earn so little and it seems that teams that beat me (2* 94s) earn so much more?
2. How am I to progress if the teams I face for the last 12+ hours are 166 to 200+ teams? All I can do is spend money to shield and slide down or not shield and slide down further. Seems like I simply cannot "win." It' like a middleweight fighting heavyweights. It's not pretty, or fair really.
3. Why is the red-shading inconsistent? Sometimes the deeper the red the more challenging the opponent and then sometimes not.
4. Why doesn't the world just give me what I want?
Any insights are appreciated.0 -

1. how much points matches are worth depend on the point disparity between you and your opponent. if you and your opponent have the same amount of event points, then the match will be worth something like 25 points i believe. if you've climbed your way to say 500 points and the team that attacked you is at say 300 points then the match is worth perhaps close to 40 points for them cause you have more points than they do. vice versa, if you're at 500 points and attacked someone at 300 points that match would likely earn you around only 10 points. so how many points a match is worth for you depends on how many points the opposing team has that you're hitting. so it gets to a point where, as a 2* team, you can't find anymore beatable teams to fight cause you've hit a 3* wall so your match points will start to dwindle unfortunately unless you can beat the teams of 3*s who've climbed higher than you...hope this makes sense
2. with where you're at you should focus on PVE where you can store up iso and hp and some winnable covers from progression and placement awards. basically, win and save hp in PVE to use later on in PVP. i did this for a while until i had 3000hp saved and waited for a PVP giving out 3* awards i wanted/needed and got them that way. if i were you i wouldnt stress out too much over PVP right now. perhaps play in the last few hours, climb as far as you can and shield to win at least one 3* cover. also, tanking helps to a certain extent..
3. eh...red shading?
4. there's this thing called economy..or civilization, that's based on a system of exchange. you want the world to give you what you want? you gotta give it something back. it's the 'ol faustian bargain. this game can be frustratingly slow and tedious but 'the world' (mpq) will be more than happy to oblige you with the illusion of progress and fleeting happiness if you fork over $$$$ for some hp...0 -
DrStrange-616 wrote:3. Why is the red-shading inconsistent? Sometimes the deeper the red the more challenging the opponent and then sometimes not.
The red-shading you refer to is simply an indication that the match is a retaliation against someone who has fought your team and won. It doesn't have anything to do with the relative difficulty of the team you will face, you're simply going up against the team that beat you.0 -

Maybe he is trying to spend Brewster's millions?0 -
Alright night owl forumites!(or early morning depending time zones and whatnot....you get the idea). I have managed to save my seed node once again to over 1600! so hopefully you know the drill, i've already beat my seed node using a max covered level 45 Daken/Patch team, with a level 40(2/1/2) blade for good measure, i will be unshielding at appoximately 6:35 am my time(it's now 6:15) to retreat to a high point player thus exposing myself to the masses! hit me as much as you want as i will be shielded probably for the rest of the event! hope my points help you all!0

i think Worldrunner2.0 fell asleep or something...never seen a dude crash so fast from so high! (゚o゚)オ(゚0゚)ヤ(゚・゚)ス(゚-゚)ミ ネロ!(o゚ロ゚)θ☆(o_ロ_)ozzZ0

I feel bad for Worldrunner2.0. They went from 1800 to about 850 in minutes. Must of run outta shields on accident.0

I'm doing the no-shield thing again, I think, since it's been working for me. I'm currently at 687 - only been attacked once since I jumped just above 700 this morning. It ends around my lunch break, though, so if anyone hits me, I'll probably retaliate, if they're worth enough points. Would ideally like to stay top 50.
Hoping for Colossus rewards at some point. Aside from Blade, he's the only 3* I need more than one cover for. And all the ones I need one cover for, aside from Doc Ock, have been awarded recently.0 -
Well, I'm sitting at 28th, I badly need yellow Thor covers and I've got 150K Deadpool points saved up. Get ready for the Whalepocalypse.0

I had but I was warned about his free fall and so switched targets. Anyhow got my last Fury cover as I cross the 1300 mark and I am now shielded out for the event if anyone in my sub needs first spot.0
