Only thing which kept them from getting a 10 was the token snafu for Combined Arms and Venom Heroic.

I gave it a 9, based on the fact I got GREAT pulls with a limited amount of tokens and using 50 Hero Points on one of the anniversary pulls. Overall, I came away with one green Dino (50 Hero Point Pull), one purple Dino, two blue She-Hulks, and a red Sentry pull. I did hate being shut out of 1/2/3 PVP and skipped the frustration of Balance of Power. I hated the Heroic Venom as well since I only had 5 characters that qualified for the event. I definitely think a more inclusive Heroic needs to be available next year, maybe one similar to Unstable ISO-8, where the max reward level is attainable. Just got my Steve Rogers Red cover with two days still left in the event. Overall, I'm still bummed out about missing out on the black Deadpool for 1200, but did enjoy the double ISO and the covers I got! I also took advantage of the added Hero Points bonus on purchases during Anniversary week and added nine slots. Would further ask for the Anniversary Time to be extended beyond a week.

I would have rated it 9 or 10.

Then I noticed Lady Thor has a trivial 4 turn win. She's even more broken than Sentry as currently designed. Fun to play, yes, but tragically broken. She has over three times the health of the other goddess of thunder, Storm, for no rational reason.

Next, they gave an out-of-touch series of answers in Answer Time. I disagreed with their assessment that no characters need fixing.

So .. not only will Sentry remain broken, Lady Thor will be released in her current broken form.

After that incredibly sour note, I've had to drop my rating to a 3.

I have read many complaints about the Dino covers. I guess I won the extreme lottery because mine is 4/4/2.

Basically, of the Dino covers I pulled from tokens, only one of them was Purple. The other purple was won in an Event. All other covers were either Red or Green.

    Lucky me.

You might be unlucky after all, testing has shown that 5 purple is actually pretty good at creating matches, and might actually be the optimal build.
  • 4/4/5 all the way baby.
  • I'm declaring 5/3/5 the best build, because it's what I'm going to have when I get the daily deals in 2-3 weeks.
  • Voted 9.

Pros: One week long anniversary vs just a weekend, Double ISO!, anniversary tokens with high rate of 3* and devil dino drops, 50HP daily deal!, user voted PVPS, user voted PVE, Thor Lightning rounds with Anniversary tokens, no server crashes!

Cons: Venom Herioc (not inclusive enough), Combined Arms (messed up the tokens, but a great recovery with fast response/the addition of anni-tokens to LRs <-- +1).

I'd say it was just short of perfect. The choice of the narrow roster on Venom Heroic was the only real choice I would consider regrettable. Having said that, overall, this made for a super anniversary event. Kudos.

Edit: Also, there were a few cute details.. did you notice that Venom and Devil Dino in the anniversary photo were looking at the mouth-watering cake? And the comment said that there is no cake left for us cause Venom and Dino ate it all. Also, it looked like Deadpool and Dino were either holding hands or high-fiving on the Recruit Heroes button. little stuff like this is nice.

As one of the littler guys who struggled through LRs following various forum-given advice, I voted 7/10.

    - A big fat minus to the Combined Arms and Venom Heroic Token snafu.

This made the second half and end of event even more newer player/non-3* player UNfriendly and really pushed the "you need to game the meta if you want to win otherwise/if you are not hardcore enough" envelope.

I know a lot of people loved the LR Tokens that resulted but I never managed to place high enough to earn any much less hit the Progression Rewards and I am in the middle of transitioning from 2* to 3*.

This was an Anniversary Event; spending the entire LR period alternating between gaming the meta and attempting to slug it out the entire time in attempts to place well and ultimately failing horribly and/or having bad luck with bracketing or timing just became NO FUN AT ALL.

In fact, this was SO not fun that this alone caused me to deduct the 3 points.

    - A point of discontent but not quite a minus (because probability is naturally fickle) is the fact that one person could pull 20 covers and see 0 Happy Anniversary Dinos while someone could pull 10 and see 3 Happy Anniversary Dinos.

Come on, this was an Anniversary CELEBRATION. Would it have killed to at least guarantee ONE Dino cover out of X pulls for the first cover to ensure that people who got enough Tokens could at least get ONE cover for a souvenir?
  • I voted 9, the only thing I wasn't too pleased with was the Heroic PvE. The Deadpool PvE is my favourite, though. I enjoyed all the PvPs (I'm a big fan of wonky combos), and the LR were plain awesome.
Oh, and dino. Enough said. icon_devildino.png
