Not sure whether this was raised (didn't read the whole thread).

Qn: what is D3 plan for characters with only 2 abilities? Especially the 3* characters like Doom, Ragnaork, Loki. I like the fact that 2* daken was given his 3rd ability (though that make the AI enemy more difficult). Are there plans to give them more abilities?

That's definitely my burning question too - Loki and Dr. Doom aren't minor players, they're world-changers. They need to be fearsome and devastating, and deserve a scary (though not directly damaging) third ability. It's a little disgruntling that a third-string player like ** Daken gets fleshed out while some of the most historically powerful characters are overlooked.
  • Hey David,

We already had an Avengers and an X-Men tournament.

I think it would be a great and positive change in mpq if
there would be a bonus (like a 30 level buff) if you put
3 heroes from the same affiliation (All X-Men, Avengers, FF)
    in your team.

  • Read the thread. Most of the good questions have been asked, so let me just pile on some minor things.

    1. Game chat. Improvements in the works? I think I remember one of the devs saying it's just a free engine, but honestly it doesn't encourage chatting much, with no history/time stamps/PMs/swiftkey support/etc. Most people I know in MPQ (not necessarily competitive players) are using Line, Facebook, etc over the game chat.

    2. Can we see defensive teams used by us on the retaliation popups? To see how teams perform in a given event, how to plan the conter-retal better, etc. It's just a very interesting part of the game that gets completely glossed over unless you run one and the same team the entire event.

    3. Popups. Too many screens. Could most of them be condensed and not distract the player during intense Versus moments? After I beat the last match to get the 1300 points progression cover, I don't want to see if I also got a Season progression reward or if I have got Facebook shares. How about keeping popups for only crucial stuff (the current event progression/attacks/huge patch news, etc) and having a separate Pending rewards tab? Instead of the Train tab which can be integrated with/within the Roster tab. Or maybe have a Pending rewards button close to the alliance/daily progression buttons.
We get too many screens to skip through after a battle, which is tiresome and time-consuming. Especially the new TUp screen. A request has been made to consolidate all the post-battle victorious screens into one. How come the losers get the luxury of having to skip just one screen and winners don't?

    4. Can we expect more events like the Gauntlet? It's the best thing ever, just needs some adjustments which is understandable, but being timezone independent already makes it heads above Unstable ISO-8/Juggernaut Heroic/Venom Heroic.
  • 2 Qs. Simple 'nuff.

    1) Now that the field has adjusted to the changes, who is next on the buff list? If invisible Woman, when? If not, Why?

    2) I was going to ask about a PvP improvement, but F that. Still hate it. So Q # 2 is; When do we see the next 4* character? Will we see a 4* villian soon/ever?

Something similar has been asked already, but... are you ever going to improve the drop rates for 3* characters in specific event tokens again? When there were guaranteed covers, I bought quite a few cover packs, but now I feel it just isn't worth it, with chances fairly high you get just one or none of the covers you actually want in the 42-pack.
    Seconding and adding a question.

With the massive influx of already and soon to be released 3* characters and the necessity to acquire 13 covers of each hero to make a decent character--

Why are the 3* drop rates and methods of winning 3* characters the same if not worse than when there were only a handful of 3* characters?

Related question on Token Reform. With the huge number of 3* characters (and growing), will 3* drops ever be added the to random drop list after matches. I'm not being greedy --- I'm thinking mostly about new players at the 2* --> 3* transition. They need a subset of 3* characters that drop somewhat frequently, just like many of us had and which we used to build our Rosters when there were far fewer 3* characters. I submit IM40 as a good candidate to be added to the random after-match drop list.

I cover maxed my Classic Mags with mostly random cover pulls. What new player can say that?
  • 1) Months ago, IceX mentioned that possibilities were being considered on easing the ever-more difficult transition from 2* -> 3* gameplay. What possibilities are being implemented, and how soon can we expect them?

    2) Relatedly, reward tiers have been tightened up (ie., top 5 now instead of top 10 in many events). Add in season pressure from alliances, 'death brackets' from 'sharding' and many other factors, and very often those winning the top reward don't even need them. Can steps be taken to expand rewards being given out so that more players who can make use of the higher reward tiers can actually use them? One event in the fairly recent past awarded spiderman *** covers at one each color card to the event's top 40, a tier within reach of most transition players regardless of event type. Certainly that alone would go a long way toward easing the 2* -> 3* transition mentioned above as well.

    1. Since Spider Man is so under utilised since his nerf, will the devs be relooking at his powers and up-balancing it to something useful in the offensive department? It's a shame that an iconic Marvel character such as SM (that has been in Avengers, Fantastic Four and fought against the Sinister 6) gets sidelined due to weak abilities.

    2. Meh. Nonce hogged all the questions icon_lol.gif just choose one of his.

Is there any plan to make alliance not a cutthroat situation? Currently as an alliance you should not trust anybody you just recruited because they're probably just there for the free stuff, and as a player you should not trust your alliance because they'll probably kick you the moment your performance slips if they want to be at all successful. As is right now the game seems to be social experiment proving the people can backstab each other for a 3* cover.

If this is the case you have gotten your self in an aliance that is not for you. Some of us are just there to help each other out.

Yup, I'm in an alliance that stays competitive (we're almost always top 50; frequently higher, occasionally much higher) but also manages to balance that with being pretty easygoing and non-backstabby. It all depends on how it's run.

I don't think anyone is suggesting to shift times to suit us Euros, and screw everyone else.

I know there are people who don't like the 'everyone share a bit of pain' approach, but I still think the fairest way of doing things is rotating end times.

Where are 4 PVP's a week of which 3 finish at the same time and the other 12 hours later. I really can not see why its so hard to get 4 different finishing times 6 hours apart. They could even rotate this so that the week after they finish at slightly different times - say two hours later. As there are fewer PvEs this would be harder but it still possible to rotate the event times from one event to the next other than they just do not want to.
  • Obviously I'd love the ending time issue to be addressed in some way. If The Gauntlet is the shape of thinking to come, I won't be too disappointed - but if the regular PvE events are still used for new character introduction then it would be very interesting to understand why the 'choose one of 3 end times' solution hasn't been implemented already.

Are we still asking questions? If so, I'd like to ask whether or not the dearth of HP rewards in the Gauntlet is foreshadowing the direction in which you'll be taking PvE events.
  • Will any of these questions actually be answered?

    1. All of Nonce's questions. Seriously.
    2. Any thoughts to reworking traps? I think it would REALLY fix DD if trap tiles functioned like *shudder* Bag-Man's web tiles. Daken's passive wouldn't overwrite, and that would make them harder to find. Also, getting rid of the "Trap Disarmed" message would make facing DD a lot more worrysome.

  • What is the current character rebalance list now the the old list has been completed?
  • I also cede both my questions to Nonce, hopefully that means at least a few of them will be answered seriously. They're all really good points that have been extensively thought out by someone who actually plays the game.
  • Can we expect a feature, where we can choose a set of friends on FB, which we want to share our reward with?

OMG, this. How was this not asked earlier?

    And one more ...

Once you hit 1,300 points in PVP it becomes incredibly difficult to find matches worth more than single digit points. It's not uncommon to need to spend 500 ISO skipping these low-point matches to find something worth more than 25 points. Can this be fixed?

Any chance of restructuring the lightning round rewards so that finishing 50th isn't perceived as being more desirable than finishing 25th?
