How the Hulk scoring system works ?

  • I actually use ragnarok + wolverine and thrash that fight fast. Match some reds and greens early and it escalates out of control really fast. Having him hit his red for 2000+ per 2 ap and linking more greens is just nasty.

I do the same thing with Punisher instead of Wolvie. Works great.

So do you guys usually do the "easy" or "hard" sub bracket first?

I used to do easy first - generally each match repeatedly until got the 500 ISO and character token - but since Ragnorak joined in I pretty much go to whatever fights he's not in, regardless of bracket. icon_e_biggrin.gif
That's because my main damage dealer is Ragnorak + I've no levelled buffed characters for this event, so it's a double whammy when I have to fight him.

If you're being super tactical though, the smart play is probably super-villain fights until your health runs low, at which point switch to henchmen fights - those tend not to deal any damage at all when go smoothly, so fine to tackle when out of health packs or team is OK to take a few machine guns but not to face inevitable super-villain damage.
  • Yeah the rubber band is strong in this one lol

Got this from Sudan: Throw down
*edit* got on my laptop and fixed the image size
  • i did that 247 level with spidey and mag because my wolv is only level 35. I can see how wolv/rag can run thru it really fast. Mag/spidey...have to plan, a LOT. Like, have to go after bullseye first because if he gets 2 protects up everything does 1 damage. After that can safely match purples for translocation spam.
  • Apologies if this has already been answered, but how do you maximize the rubber band effect in the side missions? Is it best to power through the main hulk missions and leave the side missions? Will points even start building up in them if you don't do one of the missions from them first?

You won't SEE the points go up if you haven't done any of them, but once you actually do a mission, you will get the effect of the rubberbanding, yes. So the mission might show 200, but you actually get 2000.

gotcha. So regardless of what I see, will the points go up just as long as I've unlocked the side mission? Or would I have to participate in at least one of the fights 'within' the side mission before the rubber banding begins?

Also, thanks for your response man! Happy holidays.
  • Doesn't matter at what point you unlock the side mission, just what your standing is relative to the main bracket.
  • I will say, the rubberbanding and the high point value of the punisher/hulk required missions has enabled me to stay in the top 300 without a ton of grinding. Thank god. I'd be burning out trying to stay competitive otherwise. It's already not worth the grind to get closer than 200.

My only complaint was when there were 4 separate events, with every single one having a repeatable. That was just a bit much. Of course, in retrospect, it doesn't seem that you had to try and wipe out all of the missions all the time... the rubber banding on this event finally seems right to me. I'm bouncing down into 2000-3000 when I wake up, but easily back in the top 300 (or even top 10) when I do the missions.

Would love to finish top 300, but top 1500 would be just fine. Even the next bracket down won't be a huge disappointment. Particularly since I expect Hulk covers to start going out like IM40 and Punisher covers have been. My Punisher is already 2/3/2, even after the 3* Tournament debacle.

The level 247 moonstone/daken/venom in sudan with a mandatory hulk teamup is fun as hell
I cleared that about four times in a row with Wolverine and Thor, and then got smacked down twice in a row. When that fight goes badly, it's over FAST.

Yeah, I just got wiped. I might've been able to recover except Wolverine had already been knocked down under 100 hp, so he was back lined waiting for regen. I stunned Moonstone, but then Venom stunned me, Moonstone unstunned -- red killed spidey and then venom devoured Hulk... I killed Bullseye and nearly killed Moonstone with Wolverine alone, but it was too little, too late.

Took me three tries, but finally beat it with Magneto and Wolverine. Was lucky to get 500 iso the first time.
  • I see that all the Hulk rewards are regular Heroic pulls instead of offering Gamma tokens for the top 600 finishers. I still want to finish in the top 1500, but I won't worry too much about my exact end place in this round of mini-events.

They did that for the hunt too. Presumably because the tokens are no longer available after the event, and someone that doesn't check in right away after it ends would lose their tokens.
  • I quickly learned to take in tons of blue on those 3x 247 ones so Spidey can stun whoever I need (Daken on last round -- his strike tiles were what would kill me) and green for creating my own Strike tiles off the bat.
  • This next phase is going to end with 12 hours left on the main timer. I wonder what we'll be doing from 5pm-5am EST tomorrow.

My guess is that it's just downtime to let people cash in their lingering tokens, but maybe a last few adventures will open in the main event?

See above, awarding heroics for these. My guess is a final showdown of some sort. Be fun if we got to fight Osborn.

The current missions lack a real ending, so I definitely expect one more thing. Kind of odd it's only 12 hours, though. It's going to be a pretty rough time for Americans, too.
