Punisher Required?

Are these one time mission boosts for people who won last tournament or are they repeatables giving a significant advantage for previous winners to win again?

In my opinion people shouldn't be punished in one event for not having placed in the top of another event. A level 6 stand in Punisher as in most missions if you don't have a character would have been enough instead of straight up "You can't do this mission unless you either placed highly in the extreme rubber-banding tournament or buy the Punisher."

Nothing unusual. The villain Lightning Rounds basically require you to already have 3* villians to get anywhere near competing to win more of them. Unless you get lucky with tokens, that means buying your way onto the train. That's how they makes their money!

I've got no problem with them making money (in fact, I've called out players complaining about things when they make it clear they dont support the game, but this is a different level.

Right now, I can fight 3 level 155 snipers for 10 points, 3 130 characters for 8 points, a level 123 hulk for 9 points.

If I have a Punisher I can fight a level 71 hulk for 50 points.

But it's not that bad in the grand scheme of things. Just grind every mission 3 times then there are no more points to get. Only a minor advantage to the punisher people because they can do 6 more missions worth points. Also I highly doubt there are more then 1500 people with punisher

Yeah would have been nice to have an impossible mission that had a punisher cover in it. Make the odds like 6% to get it and let us grind on that mission tell we unlock the cover.

It would have been nice if they had subbed him in like they have with wolvie, trying out a boosted punisher to see how he plays would have been awesome.

This is no different from MAA requiring certain heroes from spec ops. At least you can still do other quests in hopes of getting hulk; in MAA you are frozen out of the main reward.

Well, I think we all understand that this is a freemium game, but I think some people are upset that a character is required towards the beginning of the missions. In The Hunt, it was only a few missions towards the end that required characters, not the beginning.

Just because the 230 level cover missions are harder doesn't mean they were at the end. I could still do it within 5 minutes of the start of the hunt. Pretty sure that qualifies as beginning .

On a brighter note they give out packs to many many positions so a lot of people that don't have him will get him very soon. Packs are only 200hp once a day which isn't that much for a small chance at him. Then again some people will just remain unlucky and unwilling to spend a few bucks so angry posting shall commence!!! Hehe

Sorry, by beginning I meant one of the first missions in a new area. I, for one, don' really care if you need the character or not, I just won't do those missions.

A few bucks? It is over $25 to actually have a guarantee of getting a Punisher. Anything less than that and you are playing roulette where you may get a Punisher and you may get a whopping 125 iso (and the latter has a higher chance than the former)

Stupid, greedy moves like this are exactly why I won't spend another dime on this game. I was naive when I first got it and thought it might be a reasonably fair system, but I may as well have just lit my cash on fire. I enjoy the game and I'll keep playing it for free, but I have no respect for devs that have such a 'cash grab' mentality, even if that is to be expected in a FTP game.

Do you know how many heroic tokens (the punisher ones) they give you for this event? A LOT. Most people will have at least 1 punisher cover by the next subevents.

First I'll admit that I haven't spent any money on this game. And I've had some (what I feel is) constructive criticism about the prices of things and the purchase options. I still hope that we will get some cheaper options and deals that will make me want to spend $5 or $10 from time to time. But so many of these comments are just unrealistic expectations to receive everything for free. The developers have to make money if we want this game to continue to grow. I've gotten dozens of hours out of this game for absolutely free. No advertisements. No pop ups. No pay $ xx to unlock the full edition. Just free fun. Very few apps or games offer such an experience for free. And I'm slowly building a pretty good team. And that is most of the fun! When you finally work hard enough or long enough to get a great cover in a few tournaments and start to get higher tier squads. What are we playing for if not the reward of getting those rare covers that will improve our squad? I've come to view spending money as almost depriving myself of the experience of finally scoring that rag cover I've been trying to get. Or completing the build on a hopefully good addition to my team.
My point is that instead of complaining we can all work hard to get the rewards we want OR spend money if we can't wait and put in the time OR some combination of the two.
Yes levels that require certain characters to play may be off limits if we don't spend the money, but we are talking about a couple of levels in pve events. Those couple of levels shouldn't deprive you of an awesome gaming experience. And even if they do make it impossible to place in the top positions, I'm sure that if you play hard enough you can still get a hulk cover. Maybe not all three covers. But that gives you something to work for in future events, further extending the fun of the game.
