How long did it take for your first maxed 3*?

I was thinking about this last night. I joined sometime in February, & I'm getting near day 180 on the MPQ job. I have every character 3*+, but the best one I've achieved so far is a 10-cover Sentry.

I know in the days of uber-Rags and Spidey-spam it was easier, so curious about the average forum-ites experience. How long did it take? Who was it? Did you pay to get there?

I joined mid-December and I had a maxed Patch after the first run of Thick as Thieves. I think that's in the 1-3 months duration.

Started at the end of March, I have 3 chars tied with my most covers at 8 (Patch, Punisher, and Psylocke).

Within 2 months.

After I realized I loved this game I bought the Steam Nick Fury deal (normally $100.00 on discount at the time) and used those resources to buff my LThor to max level.
While I regret buying ISO in the long run, the HP was well worth it considering I've put over 1500 hours in MPQ at this point.

I started playing within a day or two of the game's release and I think Punisher might have been the first one I had max covers, in January? So 3-4 months?

I still don't have any 3 stars at max level as I don't believe it's worth the ISO. I'd rather have a broader roster.

Either/or. Originally thought covers, changed to full-max. For most it's the same thing, but I like this perspective.

I started in January. Worked slowly as it took me a bit to understand the inner workings. Got into a **** alliance and built my roster a bit but not with any help from the alliance. Joined a super alliance a month or so ago and finally maxed my Hood at 166 yesterday. I am looking forward to more maxed characters soon.

I reluctantly ended up with Punisher as my first to get covered fully and I think that took me around 4 months at least. But once I accomplished that the next two were relatively quick.

I began in October, it took me about 2 weeks to get my 1st 3* cover (Loki), but I think it took a fair few months for me to collect all 13 covers for ***Spider-Man. Incidentally that's my very 1st 3* character that is fully levelled to 141(166), however I would admit that I've spend money on the Motherlode iso (I think it was on on offer, hence the temptation) to get him maxed. At that point I had a fully covered Punisher, then the other 3* followed in the same manner.

Without spending money (as I mentioned I only did it once - then again spending on Hero Points & lucking on daily single heroic pack probably would count as expenditure) it takes me about a month or 2 to accumulate enough iso's to fully level a single character - thanks to PvE events which grants you a bunch of iso's, which speed things up to a month. Without these events (or just left with PvP), it might take a long grind to level up a 3* in less than 2 months for me personally.

I finally cover-maxed Punisher at about the three month mark but it took me another month to push him the rest of the way to 141 (at the time).

I think the timeline to a fully leveled Hero has changed dramatically from the first 6 months of the game to now.

There are more 3* Heroes and you used to be able to get a guaranteed cover from packs and events (from my understanding - I wasn't playing then).

At 81 days playing, my most covered 3* are a 2/4/4 BP, a 2/4/2 IM40 and a 3/3/4 LCap.

I have many maxed 3* covered characters, but none are level maxed (6+ months). I'm leveling all my characters somewhat evenly, because I enjoy playing almost all of them.

Yeah, I remembered I did something similar. In the past I read that if you level a 3* to 100/141, there's no significant difference from maxed, so I levelled him to 105 & focused on other (non fully covered but easily soft capped) characters. So yeah, his full level took him a while.

Yeah, there used to be, that's normally the pack I'd invest on, since that had changed, I quite rarely spend on these "mega deals".

Patch was first, I think in January or February. Doom was right after. I started early-mid-November. In terms of actually level-maxed, it was Ragnarok, Doom, and Loki a couple weeks back, but they don't really count; they hit 140 around when the rest of the varsity team did (which is still my current highest level, though I"ll start them up again soon).

Playing a bit more than 3 months and my highest 3* is BP 3/2/3 at 102. Maybe like 2 more months...

Im almost @ 4 month's and just got enough to get Spidey over 100...now the question of should I or wait till I can do that with a better character?

I'm on Day156 and the covers are starting to flow in this season with a top100 alliance and regular top25 finishes.

That said, lvl110 is my holding area. I plan to leave them there, see how they interact and which teams I like as I work towards 13 covers. I figure 57k to lvl110 is a small investment, but an additional 116k to 166 is much bigger.

LazyCap, Torch, Hood ~95 (10 covers each)
Hulk 102, Falcon 80 (8 covers each)

I'm around day 210 and just recently maxed my Lazy Thor to 166 during the Lord of Thunder.
I don't remember exactly when, but my first covered character was Punisher and think that was about 3-4 months in? I have about 6 covered characters now and a couple more at 12. I only spend HP on Shields (and roster slots). Never bought ISO or cover levels.
My ISO strategy was to boost whoever the featured character was at that time. Now, I have a dozen characters 100+ and many maxed 2*, so I feel it's fairly well rounded. It's good enough that I can place in the top 5/10/25 depending on how much of a feeding frenzy that PvP is.
So now, I've taken to hoarding ISO in order to potentially max out 3* characters. The only dilemma now is who to max out! lol I may just hoard enough to do several at a time. I have 110k ISO. I could max out Punisher (needs 65k), Psylocke (needs 82k), Steve Rogers (needs 85k), GWBW (needs 104k) or IM40 (needs 110k but this is on the back burner). My Black Panther is at 12 covers but have considered taking him up to 153 (85k) until I have his 13th.
Any advice on that would be welcome

Im at day 230 +something, I have couple covermaxed, but none completely maxed. I do have all the three stars in my roster, mostly on covers 3-10.
Im slowly maxing them, I dont want max just one but six at a time, (gsbw, Lcap maxed on covers but at level 141, pun, dd, lthor, im40 and loki missing one or two covers at about 100-141)
I have almost all the two and one stars maxed ( not the **** ones) and roster of 41. I think I would have covermaxed punisher, hulk, IM40, but I tossed many covers away at beginning, since i didnt know the big difference between two and three stars and didnt have HP to buy rosterslots for new ones. And Im f2p so it is slow. And it took me long time before I started playing in pve and pvp, I wanted to play prologue all through first... And I was long time without alliance too. And now Im in casual alliance (no covers from rewards). So slowly getting there, it did feel like really too long time to get from twostars to three... But as I have been maxing those slowly, at same level and not maxing just one over others, I have been seeing similar or smaller opponents on pvp and pve scaling hasnt ever been too high. Now Im quite happy with my roster.

I've been playing since the beginning with a small break in there. I'm on day 255 and my best two 3* have 12 covers. I'm 100% F2P though, and could have maxed them with saved HP but am reluctant to spend 1250 on a 5th cover and then have any future event rewards be near worthless. I've several in the 11-9 cover range. ISO is the big problem now, as it would take over half a million to level up the 3*s I now have.

Definitely wait. Post nerf and post true healing Spidey is a #3 support character at best. Once you do get those covers for better characters you'll be happy you didn't spend all that ISO.
