Team-Up Feature Discussion

  • TLDR: no matter how strategically you play, 3 bodies will almost always provide enough time for at least one highpowered team-up to fire, thus increasing usage of Health Packs once again.

After some playing I now firmly believe that those team-ups is just another feature in "also money" line. It seriously screw denying: before when you see some dangerous character (3* Magneto, Panther) you could focus him to kill him before he gets his AP, drain his color with two OBW skills or Hood, stun him. This doesn't works at all with team-ups: as long as you didn't kill all three (i.e. won the match already), even pathetic Lv.1 Bagman could unleash Supernova or Magnetic Translocation that ENTIRE TEAM, not one specific char, managed to collect when you were chewing through Hulk or something. After that - hello Health Packs, long time no see! Entire 1 funbalancing battle, actually.

It's obvious this is a current placeholder for what they are going to do next. I'm reading between the lines. No more boosts except critical. TU's are going to replace boosts we all know it. The glitches, the touble abilities. These can all be fixed. Interface deleting unwanted TU's (hopefully for ISO), this will come in time. But what is going to happen is that TU's will replace all boosts and with that I'm fine, I just want to know what TU's I'm coming into
I seriously doubt TU's will replace boosts. I'm betting a sizable majority of the whales spend $$$ on boosts.

As it is now, I bring 3 TU's into every battle. 1 Incredibly high cost **** one like Murderous Aim, 1 Medium cost **** one like force bubble, 1 low cost **** one like lvl 20 feral claws, purely for the aim of trying to get rid of at least one of them during the battle.
  • I started doing the same thing but then got to the point that I was winning the matches before getting enough TU AP to dump the TU's I didnt want and I couldnt be bothered to drag the fight out long enough to get the extra AP needed. Personally I've just resigned myself to waiting for them to fix it so we can dump/sell them from our inventory.

I usually just play a lowlvl PvE with Modern Storm & Falcon to use team-ups which I don't need.

Anyone else noticed the AI not using TUAP for abilities? One of the Hulk nodes (the West Sahara Spidey essential) just dropped a Thunderclap on me, didn't trigger a cascade and still had 6AP in the bank afterwards icon_evil.gif

At least it only had a couple of Murderous Aims to go with it.

Focusing on a character before he gets off his ability is not the same as denying. Denying TU's is still certainly possible, and a skill most people are overlooking. Though it is tedious on mobile to check what TU's the enemy is carrying.

Now that there will only be one enemy TU, it should be easier for the devs to display it, which I think would help people feel more in control of the match. Perhaps it should simply splash on the screen at the beginning of the match like boosts do.
  • Can somebody tell me why the heck team-up tiles still count as environment tiles from matches? They're now like other AP tiles & their ammount shouldn't be decreased in cascades.

They made a basic screw-up when they recoded env tiles to TU instead of ripping them out completely to add the new feature.
