    You guys think it's happening today? Big updates generally happen on Tuesdays right?  I don't remember...maybe I'm just being hopeful because I like Tuesdays about as much as Garfield likes mondays.

      Since there haven't been any update notes or card gallery or anything, I highly doubt it.  But with the total radio silence, who knows?

      No way. I would not expect 2.8 until mid August. We just got 2.7.1 for goodness sake.

      Has it been released in paper yet? I think the earliest we got the release in PQ was a month after the paper release.

      that's unfortunate.  Octagon was trying to stay up-to-date with paper mtg.  With the lack of communication from them the past couple weeks that usually comes right before a release, I was getting my hopes up that there was a reason for the ghosting.

      the prerelease on paper was 2 weeks ago. I think with one of the sets they were pretty close behind the release, around a week or 2 apart (which would make this or next week the release week if they did that).

      I honestly don't think they knew they were going to do M19, and certainly didn't begin working on it in a meaningful way, until we pestered Brigby enough to get a confirmation they were doing it. There's no reason to confirm something until you know you're going to do it, and likewise no reason not to confirm and promote something if you know you're going to do it. Seeing as that was like two or three weeks ago, I'd guess they still have significant design work to do, much less coding and testing. Mid-August is actually probably optimistic. Sadly, that means we're not going to get current bugs fixed until probably mid-to-late September

      I sincerely hope that is not the case.  If they just decided to do M19 a few weeks ago than they are even more disorganized and problematic than we thought.  

      I'm just hoping that they are putting it in like a normal set and are just too busy to talk to us.  If they follow their usual release schedule, we'll have more info this week or next and the full set a week later (so 2-3 weeks total)

      I'd hope (considering this is supposed to be a puzzle quest version of Magic the Gathering) someone on their R&D team keeps tabs on what Wizards is doing.

      If they really didn't see this coming however, an easy ride to the finish-line with minor turbulence would be to just expand the Origins block as the "m19 expansion," with a handful of new cards released every couple of weeks.  With m19, they don't have to code and test new abilities; just piggyback off the design templates they already have set up.

      Newer players will be happy to have an easier access to the new cards.  Older players will be happy because it'll be like getting a new set without losing an old one (presuming in this case they don't phase outs HoD)

      I'm confident they knew they had to do it. It was planned for 2.8 and announced as such.

      Can't wait for this! Looking at the set nothing really jumps out that could get out of control (besides omni but that"s a different thread) the elder dragons look cool and will be interesting to see what they do with the new walkers. I do love there are more goblins, my dreams of a good goblin deck may come true!

      I don't think it was a result of disorganization, I imagine it was actually contract discussions. For instance, Wizards may have given them license several years ago for big sets, but this was back when the core set was supposed to no longer be a thing. New set comes back in that's not in the contract, negotiations begin, and that can take a significant amount of time. Discussions may have taken so long that Oktagon began considering just not doing it, which delays things even more.

      Edit: obviously all theoretical, but I can see something like this happening.

      I imagine they'll "accidentally" make Apex of Power busted.

      this is pretty far off; they're well into implementation on 2.8 and M19

      I don't think Oktagon would have to do such kind of negotiations. That sounds like a D3 thing.
      There won't be an update soon, at least they always gave us informations about those in prerelease notes.. Still, the silence is annoying. We're placing bets on whether there will be responses to questions and who of us can come up with the most alike response..

      Yeah negotiations with WotC would definitely be a D3 thing, Octagon is probably just in charge of development.  From what we've seen with card development suggest that Octagon has a fair amount of wiggle room on what they do with the cards.  There were cards developed that were little to nothing like their mtg card counterparts.  They were allowed to release cards with significant errors and bugs, with what looks like no corporate whiplash (because of the amount of time it took to fix many of those errors plus the continuation of bugs).

      True, we don't know the legal constraints of taking on a new set.  But this game would be on thin ice if they had to renegotiate with WotC the continuation of this game for every new set.  I'd find it unlikely that to be the case, because it would be an incredibly financially risky endeavor from D3's standpoint, and I'd doubt based on their track record that they would make a contract that fragile.
