Seeing nothing special about that is said in the 2.8 prerelease notes I think it's safe to say that Origins will remain, M19 will be Standard until M20 comes along.

Im curious if Origins is going to be rotated out of standard as M19 is like origins a core set we lose HOU but do we lose Origins also hoping not.
Nope Oktagon stated awhile back that Origins will always remain to be the static set for standard.

Having read the 2.8 prerelease notes twice, I'm very hopeful. Thank you and your coworkers for your efforts to improve and expand this game.

No problem but an interesting idea came to mind and I can see Oktagon doing this.... when M19 rotates into legacy... it melds with Origins as a standard base set. This would do two things. It doesn't leave veterans out in the cold by dropping Origins as a standard base set that is static. And by adding M19 to the pool it let's newer players meld better into the same pool that the veterans reside in over time.

    Something to think on

Actually I would love to see insights on this from other vets. Any takers?

Most suggestions I saw going back to when M19 was announced were to add it to Origins as a supplemental set (like the second set of the block was treated pre-Amonkhet).

I don't mind it as its own thing, but I have a feeling that means it won't get any special treatment.

unlikely.  That would be catastrophic for new players and returning players, as they would no longer have a foothold to start-off or return in the game.

Considering nothing was mentioned about the Introductory-training in the updates (remember that forced-match with Nissa when you first started), I'm assuming they're keeping that whole deal as-is.
