Full credit where credit is due. Thank you very much for implementing this. I hope that there will be more things like this, and expansions to this, in the future. Bravo!

+800.000 iso on a row, that's great. A really good gift, thanks a lot icon_e_biggrin.gif

I'm very happy for this new piece of the game, something that should have been implemented long ago. Devs are finally admitting there is an issue and working on resolving it, which is huge. They created the monster and now they are finally trying to slay it. I can't wait to see the 2nd (and future) piece of the puzzle when they start implementing gates for shield ranks and new game features depending on it.

I do wish, however, that the grandfathering wasn't capped at 65, and instead everyone was just placed correctly from 1-100. It would have created a much larger playing field for when the SHIELD rank actually comes into play in a few week. Now we will have a large amount of the community at 65. Sure, some will pull away from that faster than others but right now the amount of people at 65 is probably large. I came in at 65 but I don't think I would have placed at 100.

Started lv 43 and got a nice pile of ISO-8. Leveled everything that was not max capped in my roster. May or may have not left a scaling sweet spot, as the levels in the last Venom Bomb sub seemed higher, but I'm not sure.

But it's all fine. It's great seeing progress in every little action one does.

First off - this is fantastic...getting extra rewards for the stuff I do anyway. No complaints here.

I was wondering, it says earn XP for opening cover packs. Does this also include standard tokens? I opened one and didn't see the pop up, but I might have just missed it too.

Thanks again though! Really happy with this latest addition...

I was wondering the same thing. I've opened several standard packs and gotten no EXP. Is this a bug, or by design? If it's a bug, did the retro packs get counted?

    Standards don't get exp.

Hopefully they'll use this framework to give events with level-appropriate rewards. For example, another way to earn 5* other than random chance - won't that be nice? Clearly the main intention for this is to set things up for the future, rather than any immediate effect. That, I suppose, and to encourage people to finish the prologue before they dive into the rest of the game...

You're the first poster to mention "framework," and I think it's definitely key to game dev's plans for the future. I can see a rework of scaling based on SHIELD rank. In addition, the rewards system can be reworked based on a player's SHIELD rank; for example, a rank 65 reaching cp progression in the upcoming heroic pve event may get an adjusted 40 cp rather than 25. And this would be a fair reflection of the challenge that a higher ranked player face in navigating a heroic event. I also see a possibility of elite tournaments, such as pvp events requiring minimum SHIELD rank to enter.

Basically, game devs are looking to move away from a one-size-fits-all approach and toward a customized player experience.

It is interesting to see all the gratitude - as at the moment it's just another Iso-Stream. A big shot at once, then a decent sized hit at regular intervals. We'll see how regular those intervals are - my guess is every few weeks with regular play, but it will almost certainly get slower the higher you go. But right now that is literally all it does.

But still, the truly exciting thing is what it represents - as you said it - it's a way to move away from the "one-size-fits-all" approach that they use right now. I'll admit I feel a little trepidation that they may make things harder for the vets, but since all the changes they've made recently have been overwhelmingly positive, I feel confident that won't be the case. Or at least if they make it harder, they'll compensate us with better rewards.

TL/DR version - this looks like a very good thing and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it (and .86 million Iso is definitely nice...)

Nice job on the implementation! The influx of ISO went a long way towards progressing my characters. I also really like the idea of another stream of rewards coming for just playing the game.

Any details on when/if/whether they will ever implement the:

"S.H.I.E.L.D. Rank and Clearance Levels will help new players graduate from the early game to an advanced roster. Veterans will see better rewards that speed up development for their advanced teams."

from: Announcement post .... Upcoming Feature: S.H.I.E.L.D. Rank & Clearance Levels!

I totally dont understant why HP/ISO/VIP purchases are not rewarded with XPs... cmon DEVs, this may attract some buyers... and yes they do deserve some XPs... amount of ISO gained for money is pathetic cuz its based on state of game in 2014 or so.

iso buying has never been wise to ever do.

For a regular player that started at lvl 65, I think it'll work out to an extra 3k-4k iso per day, on average. I'm basing that on what's available daily through game play, and some assumptions to how the rankings will scale from level 66+

For a newer player that will obviously be lowered by a tick, but I think relatively in proportion to what their iso needs are.

4k would work out to be just over a 20% increase for my own personal iso flow rate, which is quite nice. Not quite the double we asked for, but still a significant step, especially combined with the lump sum that (for me) equates to about 45 days of free iso.

Hard not to be thankful for that, but I'm definitely anxiously awaiting R109 in what presumably is two weeks.

Not being negative, with this ranking implementation & optional VIP & DDQ to earn a signficant chunk of iso8.png I see it no need to even have a shop to purchase iso8.png

Loving this S.H.I.E.L.D. rank rewards. This new feature happens to fall upon where DDQ has a versus mode, so manage to fast level my star.pngstar.pngstar.pngstar.pngicon_hulk.png (as he's nowhere near high priority to level up) to earn a token_legendary.png

The way I see it, the overpriced nature of ISO is one of the few things that keeps this game from being overly P2W. Even whales need to play to gain ISO. So I don't mind the prices at all.*

*Disclaimer: I am 100% F2P and like to try and compete with spenders.

A point of criticism: I don't really like the 'grind a single node 6 times for 10xp' format in PVE.

First of all, PVE is already biased enough towards pointless grinding:
    • Want the max progression reward? Grind all nodes 3-4 times.
    • Want to compete for 'ranking'? Grind even more than required to reach max progression
    • And now: want some XP? Oh, just grind this node 6 times.
I'd much rather see a system that rewards ALL work you put into clearing out a node. E.g., every time you win a PVE node, give an XP reward, with increasing returns.

With a system like this, you will still reap the benefits of winning a node, even if it's only one win. And beating higher scaled opponents gives better XP, so you do have an incentive to try and beat the higher scaled versions of the nodes too. And if you get stuck on a difficult node, because it scales too damn high after 4 wins, or because you run out of time, you won't have wasted all that time and health packs for nothing...

A hypothetical reward structure with some made up numbers:
    Easy nodes: 1-1-1-1-2-2 xp (6 clears = 8xp)
    Difficult nodes: 1-2-2-3-3-5 xp (6 clears = 16xp)
    Required nodes (2*): 1-1-1-1-2-2 xp (6 clears= 8xp)
    Required nodes (3*): 1-1-1-3-3-3 xp (6 clears = 12xp)
    Required nodes (4*): 1-2-2-3-3-5 xp (6 clears = 16xp)

Anyone know if pve will scale off your shield rank or still looks at top 3 boosted?

It has to be top 3, else everyone will have KDN's scaling for the next few events.
I don't think most people will be able to handle level 520 enemies.

When can we expect details on Clearance Levels? We know it's coming, how about some more information.
