Hi and welcome!
For that fragile ecosystem, we read in an earlier post that you are reading old guides from the community to figure out the game. Would be cool if you joined the Discord and the new player experience channel so we can bring you up to speed. It would also give us an avenue of contacting you directly when easily fixable issues such as scheduling errors (length and data), rewards errors (rotation, offering IF after his PVP, etc) happen.
Thank you
They got all that from here! They've been great at posting on the forum and responding to questions and suggestions so far.
Maybe all the Discord people should come here instead.
Yes, that’s what I’m worried about. That they got it from here. 😉
It’s more about getting direct communication in back and forth talk as they seem to be ingoring issues such as several wrong start times, event lengths etc..
Thank you
I think they have the right idea. Who has time to spend dealing with a bunch of spreadsheet nerds who are fussing over every slight detail? Just give us feedback here on what they are achieving in the short term until as they said they can not need say anything. Rather that than be bogged down in dealing with somebody who got 2 shards less than expected or is crying coz an event started 10 minutes late.

Oh be nice, there's plenty of angry spreadsheet nerds here!
It sounds like this person is concerned that the forum isn't complaining enough, but then listed a bunch of stuff that everybody has already complained about extensively, and that the new devs have already responded to.
The nice thing about a forum vs something like Discord is that the history is all here, and it's easy to see it. It'd be pretty simple to read back and see that they've already answered stuff about the schedule and rewards.

Has there been any comment on the lack of season pass shards (or whatever they are called), used to be 750 for completion of quests and now its 250, and that we bought the season pass but not informed at the time about the lower quantity of said shards?

However….well, anyway….obviously none so far. That’s the only comment from devs. Plenty from players.

We all know they are still looking for the 'dispense season pass shards' button.
SOOOO many buttons to push still to figure out what each one does. The latest one they pushed gave out higher boss points.

As the season is coming to an end, this is becoming more pressing as we are going to miss out on the vault tokens (the 3a4 is one of the few things worth getting in this game). Anyway, I guess nothing will happen on this in time for it to matter.

Are you always this angry and condescending about people you don’t know? Discussions and reactions like this (and some of wrong info on other posts I’ve seen) are the reason I’m worried.
Please keep it friendly.
Thank you.

It seems sensible to me that the primary source of information from devs should be on the game's own forum rather than Discord.
Not to say they shouldn't be allowed to update Discord as well, but it's unlikely they have the time to do both. It was after all a source of much frustration that the previous devs often provided info on Discord that wasn't here.
Why is there an expectation from Discord users that devs should be seeking out feedback on a social media site with no official links to the developer or publisher? Why don't we also ask the relatively small dev team to monitor Facebook, X, Youtube, Instagram, Reddit and MySpace (if it still exists) in case anyone on any of those platforms has the same issues that forumites have already reported? While they're at it can they also check for smoke signals, morse code from neighbouring star systems, intercept letters to Santa in case MPQ is mentioned and also check all the bathroom walls in every bar, school, office, hair salon and department store in case someone has graffiti'd "wish I got more season pass shards in MPQ" on them.
Please understand this is not a personal attack, merely an expression of the appreciation I have for the dev communication we are finally being given and a fear of how that precious communication could easily become lost to all of us if the job of maintaining communications becomes too big to maintain and the devs collectively decide it isn't worth maintaining. Now if you'll excuse me I need to empty a bottle and head to the sea to pre-emptively put a customer support ticket in because the tides this time of year won't reach Australia until Spring.

The games’ own forum versus the games’ own Discord? Really? You do know it’s an official Discord right? Only reason I’m here now is because 505 is practically ghosting us right now and at least @TheMigz posts some updates, even if it’s just admission post factum of messing something up when we’ve been trying to alert them about said thing for days but get no reply.
There’s some effort at least.
The Discord also has the largest bug section for the Unity related issues, and the beta was organized there (which results they ignored but that’s another thing).
But yes, thank you for asserting the forum with 6 remaining active posters is superior to all other avenues they officially communicate in. I’m sure I missed the Live Q&A they held here instead of the Discord.
All I’m asking for a more direct contact.
Thank you.

To answer the most important question: the Lion at Gripsholm..
As for “monitoring” them, they said they were reading our guides. Most of our guides stopped getting updated a few years back (and doesn’t feature stuff like “hey, an event runs this long and has these kind of rewards and a release happens on this week and that week and these events tie into it and etc.. you know basic info they clearly didn’t have access to), so not monitoring, but reaching out to help them. Like @bluewolf has been posting these kind of mini guides for them.
Thank you

Lions do stuff badly, it is true, good choice!
You do realise (pretty sure that you do so this is mostly rhetorical) that they are a sub-division of 505 games, the very same publisher that worked with BCS? It isn't like they have been flung into the ocean with only a rubber duck to keep afloat. Or maybe they will just change things? Why not, freshen things up, this is an old old game. Either way, I also assume they could reach out if they really needed help.
A prudent company will make use of whatever resources it can and so if player guides are useful to them, that is great. No reason those player guides can't be updated and posted here. If players wanna help, why make the Devs come to where you hangout?
If they wanna go on Discord and post there, they will find the way.
They clearly have their work cut out for them and I just personally feel the players can actually help by letting them get through this early phase before overwhelming them with requests and information that might not help, even though everything is being done with a well intentioned motive.
CS hasn't gone anywhere either.
Anyway - beyond our initial (my fault for not choosing better words) exchange thanks for the reasoned reply - we all love MPQ so whatever benefits that puts us on the same team.

And yet this thread alone has been viewed over 2000 times. A lot of work for the only 6 players left here. And anybody can become active at any given time - like you are now!
Maybe you should be asking yourself - well why have they abandoned Discord?

I dunno why we're still arguing about Discord but it seems somewhat likely a new team would be reluctant to interact with players there after some past mistakes that happened when other devs did.
And possibly (probably) were directed to not directly interact with players there as a result of those errors.
That said they are certainly welcome to lurk there and monitor what's happening.
The benefit of Discord is there are a decent number of people there who aren't here or at most just read things here. And in general the chat-ty format means people quickly post things when errors happen etc, there are people actively there who can respond and confirm issues, it's easier to post there (you don't feel like you need to be as precise with grammar or punctuation necessarily etc, images are lightning fast to add).
Both have a place and are fine and useful in their own ways. But imo Discord usually has the nod on "we see something that seems wrong" by a long shot especially for speed. It's just one channel mostly being used, you can see when new things are added to new channels, etc.
If someone wanted to get feedback quickly Discord when busy has a decent number who'll respond within a few minutes which is useful if you, say, are the community manager for many games.
In general it's been more useful to me to be on Discord to figure things out but otoh there are certainly things I've learned from posters here too.

But The Devs who are on Discord at present are based in US and on Pacific time too. So a whole chunk of the playerbase can't do any of that in real time simply due to time issues. At least elsewhere, the announcements are easy to track and pick up on.
2 -
@DAZ0273 I agree with what you’re saying about time of day and availability and do not in any way want the devs to post announcements here any less. And they should post here more, obviously. This is the main announcement hub, or should be, because those posts get prominent placement and are always accessible via the News and Announcements section.
All I’m saying is that for me the discord is more useful, but I’m not normal lol.
Also, no dev posts much on Discord lately. We get ice in for like a couple hours every 3-4 months or so, and s0kun mostly dips in for like 30 minutes 2-3x a week on abeta he, other than posting announcements. There are quick comments we get because honestly I think s0kun is stretched thin and can’t always manage a real post here with approvals and everything. So he’ll make a quick comment and know word will spread.
Anyway, it’s fine to be tribal a bit about one’s preferred MPQ hangout, but I think we all agree better and more communication is always appreciated.

I still prefer the MPQ Myspace page.
I don't care where they communicate (and have never cared) but they need to TELL us where they're going to communicate and how, and then stick to it.
If they want to use the Discord, great, I'll go there and leave here. If they want to use the forum, also great. But since BCS it's been this weird situation where a bunch of stuff goes on the forum but then other random important stuff goes on Discord or Reddit or Twitter or something and someone has to relay stuff from one place to another.

Idk about BCS being the main culprit.
505 laid off a ton of folks in Nov 2023 and we lost the person who I believe was the main person to communicate with us. But she had also been on maternity leave before that. Anyway I think if she was still working here they’d be better at doing comms consistently.
I also imagine things got way out of whack when BCS seem to have become much less communicative. So maybe it’ll be better as IP2 gets more up to speed.
