  • PATCH IS BUFFED, OUR DAY HAS COME
  • soooo are we supposed to go through this same map for 6 and a half days?
looks like a really boring event, how is the best possible way to approach this event?

You don't see pop-up window, lol? New missions every day, brother.
looks like human torch is a 3* afterall, really tought he was gonna be the 4*
looks like a nice new character

Looks like another mediocre *** **** with penalties.
  • Or maybe:
    Patch/Hood/HT
    1) Get bullload of green (30 would be perfect, 23+ at least)
    2) get 9 black
    3) shoot Patch' green
    4) shoot 3 HT's green
    5) shoot Hood's black
That shoul be quite mass of damage, since each CD counts as separate attack and will activate on Hood' black. But that requires to much of green. Maybe Daken would be better candidate, since he doesn't need green.

Hey, is the strategy the same for this type of PvE? I've done my first clear of the nodes which were all easy but dont want to screw myself with scaling. In 16th place.

Btw... Fishnets, Patch, and C. Hallestorm murders these guys.

I don't really know, I might have screwed my rubberbanding by starting early...currently ranked #3 with roughly 5k points. not too worried about scaling since most are goonfights....with c mags and 5 blue their level doesn't really matter

I'm using mostly C. Mags, Patch and Punisher/Cap America where needed.

Not the main pop-up, the one within the event ... right above the list of buffed characters.

  • Just for the record, it was you guys that inspired me to dump about 20 levels worth of ISO into Patch after the simulator event, bringing him to 100. I'm really loving his buff in this event.

I'm making my way to the light, though my path is fraught with dangers and enemies. I shall strike at my foes and obstacles with adamantium until the way is clear.

    Amen. Snikt.

If patch is too fierce I'm concerned these might scale super crazy due to exiting every lvl at full health. If someone experiences an aggressive/ suddent jump let us know.

    @dlaw *hugs*
  • f someone experiences an aggressive/ suddent jump let us know.

ye 1 node went from lvl 100 each to lvl 170 each in 1 jump with me, im at 5k points now and i have a really hard time clearing nodes.

Its going to be a balance. Some are 50s and some are 150s for me. I dont know if scaling carries over so I'm slightly afraid of going at it too hard. I also notice that some teams are missing from the leaderboard.

I would imagine they're waiting for rubber banding to kick in. By the time I get home I assume my nodes will be at max so my single clear will net me more points then people who clear earlier
  • Here's why I find the whole 'time everything' +rubberbanding somewhat silly. Feel free to rebut if I've missed sth.

So player 1 jumps in an hour earlier than player 2, and consequently scores less points for his first clears, but refreshes slightly earlier. fair enough. This same sequence takes place throughout the run. OK.

Let's say each of player 1's nodes are worth a couple hundred points less--maybe even a thousand--points less at the end of the sub. This only matters if player 2 is hardcore enough that he is grinding the nodes down to virtually nothing, which rarely happens. Otherwise, the advantage is all player 1's. While player 2 is scoring more per match per node at the end of the event, he's likely trailing player one in points unless he's ground all his final nodes down to 1 point. Otherwise, he still has a larger gap to make up right at the end unless he's timed EVERY sub and ground EVERY sub down to maximum efficiency.

I don't know that I've ever seen this happen (maybe TheLadder?). Any event where I wanted to compete and fought through to the end, I've had as legitimate a shot as the players who 'timed' everything. All the fuss about refresh and rubberbanding, AFAIK, only applies to the ultra grinders that are absolutely maximizing points and are consistently grinding nodes into nothingness.

Davecazz from SHIELD did a couple of grind-to-nothings in the last round of the last tourney and beat me, although he appeared to be focused only on the full grinding (wiping nodes completely), not on the timing (he obviously still had points left despite jumping into a huge lead), and he was able to cleanly win doing so (I started my final run about 10k back and closed the gap to about 2k by the end). More power to him. I didn't clear nodes completely, didn't obsess about timing, but fought consistently throughout the tourney and in particular the last 2 hours.

I came second. Got my IW. Sth to think about.

Yeah. The last "grind" is easily the most important. For the rest I just try to stay top 10. Then the last grind just try to get as many as you can.

It takes too much work to grind everything down to 1. As someone who can't hit every refresh I applaud rubberbanding. Most of us seem to be getting top 10 consistently so clearly we can't be doing it all wrong

I've got nothing in the way of actual theory to rebut you, but my own experience in the recent Simulator PvE was a bit different.

I was on vacation for the majority of Simulator, so I couldn't play during the day (EST time zone), and occasionally couldn't even play before midnight. This meant that I consistently missed refreshes per sub (usually 2 per sub). I ended up #1 in my main bracket (which included at least 1 5DV).

that wouldn't be a rebuttal anyway... just really proves the point. What matters most are those final few hours of the sub/event, as long as you leave enough time to make up the points. UNLESS youa re ultra grinding AND timing refreshes, in which case you're providing yourself with a slim but tangible edge.

thing is, the vast majority of us, even in the premier alliances, simply aren't that hardcore.

Well this should be interesting, quick scaling and we're out in front early. Hopefully this doesn't mean we'll fizzle out due to massive goons later. I was gonna try to not use patch to try to curb scaling but I pretty much need him on some of these
