New PVP Reward Structure

I know ICE mentioned that they were thinking about how to assist with the 2-3* transition and this seems like a great step in that direction. They already started giving out 2*'s like candy so it makes sense that they up the ISO reward structure and give out more 3* covers while at the same time coming up with an answer to the high number of people who complained about not being able to get all 3 covers without being in a 20 person alliance. Dare I say they are starting to listen and get things right?0

Makes sense to me. I really like my alliance but the burnout has made it hard for us to maintain 20/20 members and get those 3rd covers0 -
As a mid-range player, I really like this move.
With 700 to 800 points max, attacked all the time by 212/141/141, I could no longer win 3* cover anymore (The Hood event: finished #52). Being in a top 250 alliance, I could not have the alliance cover too.
Top 25 being out of reach now, with only +100HP possible, I stopped using shield.
Now with this move, I So now, with the same way to play this game, a little I can win more HP (150 for top 50, or 125HP for top 100), and a 3* cover per event! If I reach the 800 points (which is possible on some pvp, same as the 900 used to be about one month ago), it is a +50HP to this total.
So now, I will think to use shields again, so possibly achieve higher reward.
And reducing HP for alliances after top 250 will help motivate us not to leave the #250 rank.0 -
I still like the (really) old better, this version looks like a fair improvement over the last thing.
Major point is that the 3 covers are back for individuals. The HP is redistributed differently and got little down instead of the usual updrift. If only they lowered the *** cover to 1000 I'd call it a great wow.
We can expect more fight for T5 again -- this far T10 made no significant difference. It's bad only in combination with the sharded brackets for what I keep wishing the devs sh-it hedgehogs.0 -
We will see if this prize extension applies to all tournaments, or those that have an older cover as prize.
I can imagine having more prize of an established character, to allow for fully-covered vets to place top while also extending covers to the have-nots. It seems in both ways to address the haves with extra ISO incentive, as well as the have-nots with lower cover thresholds.
I like it.0 -
It feels good to be heard.
Things keep on going for the right. I feel more and more relieved about the situation.
The game is fun again
Keep on listening to your customers D3P ! You'll get more money as the players are happier and happier.0 -
The question is, how will this change affect average scores?
I'm in an alliance that typically ranks between 75 and 100 in most PVPs. We almost never drop out of top 100 although we've had some close calls. There's a fairly wide gulf between the top members (1,000+ points/PVP) and the bottom members (< 300 points/PVP). I'm wondering if this change will cause the top guys to push harder to get a top 5 placement or cause the middle guys to slack off because now they can get a 3* cover with top 100 placement or two 3* covers with top 25 placement.
I'm not sure if the distribution of scores found in my alliance are typical or if alliance members generally have scores closer to each other. If it's the latter I could see alliances like mine dropping out of the top 100 and those just outside of the top 100 breaking the magical barrier if current "top 50" guys are now pushing harder to make "top 25".

I was just thinking the same as you.
But if the overall scoring is higher, then the ranking structure should not change much.
The guys will struggle harder, that's for sure. It will be interesting to see how things change.
I hope they will go on and give more prizing to the PvEs also, because it is not much at the moment.0 -

I really like these changes, since they're pretty much all positive for players. However, it does make me question what change is on the horizon that balances this out, as the devs don't have the greatest history with making player-positive-only changes. Hopefully none...?
[fakecomplaint]Also, I'll have to always work for top 5 rather than top 10 to get the better rewards! What's with that!?[/fakecomplaint]0 -
With every change, regardless of good or bad, there seems to be someone who would complain.
With this change, it is actually quite possible that a top 25 placement would nett more HP than a top 10 placement simply because a top 25 placement is possible to achieve without shielding and a top 10 is near impossible unless one is extremely lucky. It also means that a top 25 player can walk away with 250 HP gain which wasn't possible in the reward structure prior. I believe that the implication is that it could lead to a situation where top players no longer shield and go for HP instead if they already have the covers being given out as rewards. But then again, the equation of season standing has to be taken into the picture. But given the amount of HP spent on acquiring a Nick Fury cover, I wonder if after season 3, people may just pay the cover cost instead of spending it on shields for covers they do not need. This opens up the playing field for those transitioning from 2* to 3* quite significantly whilst having enough HP incentive for veterans to still participate in PvP.0 -

Well, apart from the complaints on the forum, there must have been a downfall in the overall activity.
"Whiners" (that's not pejorative and shorter than complainers, but now with the explanation what's the use of finding a shorter word ) are not only on the forum, it's only the visible part of the iceberg. So we can imagine what the situation has been lately.
A customer who complains loudly is someone who is likely to stay IF he is heard.
So, if some guys left the game recently, and said so on the forum, one can imagine the truckloads of guys leaving meanwhile...
As for the improvements, they will act accordingly until the figures go well again. It's not done yet... There are still things to be improved, but we can see they care.
This game is a game of quality. Nothing compared to most of the bulls**t on the Playstore.
They go into details and care about the general outlook. They make a lot of changes. But they wanted to milk the cow too fast. They will have to learn that you have to give more to get more and that users are not so dumb in a world where everyone can spend his time playing for free and leave for another game when he is tired...0 -
The next good step would be a sale...0

And the next good step has been a sale
I wonder sometimes why people do not use more common sense, when it comes to customer relationships.
Besides, who ever still thinks the customer does not have the last word ?0 -
Wait, they added roughly 50 HP more to progression, and all three covers if you hit top 5, and a second event token with a chance of 3*? How is it even possible to complain about any of this? This isn't even coupled with the 3* falcon they added at a lower score in season. I'm ALL for this.0

Should just point out for all the people posting "OMG why complain about this?" that the op has retracted his original complaint.

I'll take a second cover in 11-25 for 50hp less anyday...
Even if the OP was correct, this X 1million. You're seriously complaining about possibly losing 50hp ($0.35 at the $20 purchase level), but you would now get three covers (incl alliance) at that level when previously you only would get two?
My MoStorm is 0/2/3 right now precisely because getting top 10 is brutally hard with sharding right now and top players need to fight for covers they don't even need. Top 25 to get all three covers if you are in a top 100 alliance...and you're complaining about the change?
This change changed me immediately from very frustrated, thinking of quitting to "maybe I can hang on a bit more, I can probably pull off top 25's".0
