How about putting all the covers in in attainable progression rewards. Let the grinders grind for more HP, iso and duplicates of the same covers.
    I agree.

However, people also complained about precisely this kind of reward structure when it was implemented for Season 1's general individual progression ("Ugh, heroic 10-pack is at an easily attainable 5000, but it's followed by measly Iso and HP at higher point values?! What an insult!").

And sadly this is why i have pretty much given up.

Make it so that everyone can "win", the privileged few complain about their "hard work" not being valued, and "how dare some other guy they don't approve of got good things!" Make it a HP, strong roster & grind heavy reward system, they suddenly shut up and the rest of the population are unhappy. I hope they find a way to fix the overall character progression so i can look forward to playing MPQ again.

To be fair, relatively few people complained about the S1 reward structure, and fairly few people complain about PVE progression tiers that are scaled "too low." I think the latter set of complaints was more frequent back when we didn't often see impossible progression rewards. But yeah, whatever you do, someone will always complain.

In this case, some people complained about the low top progression reward because they thought that it implied low node values throughout the PVE. I didn't really make that connection, but I am annoyed that the rubberbanding on the main-event nodes rendered virtually all early-sub grinding worthless.

I believe that it is actually not so straightforward. Progression rewards for PvE are tricky because they are based on whether people are willing to grind or not. With the current scaling structure, people are more willing to grind thus making the progression rewards more easily obtainable.

And, I agree with those people who say that it is better to have it "too easy" rather than having it unreachable.
  • Ya'll realize that all they really did was remove the higher up rewards right? We used to get 2 covers, now its only one. I like easy to obtain for all over too hard/impossible, but all they really did here was take your dog's broken leg that complained they never fixed (and looked like a piece of wet spinach where the paw was its so mangled looking), sever it below the knee, put a piece of oak on the stump, paint it the color of your dog's fur, and tell you they fixed itwhile only showing you him at a weird angle. Sure, the dog is probably better off than before, and you aren't as worried about him, but its also not the same dog anymore. If it was the only option then fine, but in this case our dog only had a mild infection that was easily cured with some generic cure all like a z Pac. Just like that, I won't complain about a pirate dog, and Halloween is a cakewalk.now, but don't tell me that my dog is better off or even as well off as before the infection.

As an aside, absolutely no issue with how the season reward was set up. I would have liked a fury @ 15k the last time, but beyond that...I think the format of an amazing reward at an obtainable threshold a useful but less amazing reward above it is fine. Again, there should have been a single really really high reward though. But AN OBTAINABKE ONE. putting a fury @25k points would.have been pretty mean.

Good catch i was wondering why there was only one 3* cover in the PVE this time. I'm guessing this was to push us to grind more for those idiotic 3* placement rewards. Grindmare bracket PVE'ers need not apply.
I got their message loud and clear, I got my red hulk and bounced icon_lol.gif .
  • I feel that they didnt make progression rewards more reachable, i think they just got rid of all the high ones so people wouldnt complain..... we will be able to confirm maybe later but we only have 14 progression rewards and only 1 was a token when i think we have always had 2 token rewards...

It does seem like that, but as I mentioned earlier, there are generally more subs in this event than recent events, with higher hp/iso rewards for placing highly (and same token stuff as usual). So if we compare it directly to Simulator which only had 3 subs, that's double the amount of hp/iso/tokens to be had in rewards. Take away one or two tokens from progression and you still come out ahead (although they're more tied to your performance in the subs as opposed to just purely racking up points, so I can see some room for argument there). The only place maybe things are really different is with the 3* covers, and with regards to that I agree with your take that they just chopped off the top half of the progression rewards for this event.

I should have done the same but I've been frustrating close to getting all three covers at times so I don't want to bail now and waste all the effort.
  • *beats head against a wall*

When EVERYONE gets a reward, no-one gains anything. You got a red hulk cover to make your roster stronger? Yeah, so did everyone else - jog on.

In fact, the guys who did worst out of it are the ones like me with no need for a Red Hulk.

As far as I can tell, the Hulk was either:

    - Given out very early so everyone could access the 'required character' nodes
    - Given out early as a result of points miscalculation

Either way, it was a real shame to have nothing to shoot at after 25000 especially as this event has been the most time intensive and exhausting since I started playing the game.

I was really glad to be able to get a hulk without grinding like crazy icon_e_smile.gif

Yeah it's one thing to make the rewards attainable... it's completely another thing to make it SO attainable that the last progression reward only needed a quarter of your score total.

And on the other scale the previous events NO ONE has been able to achieve the progression reward no matter how much they grinded. It's not about the fact that people are attaining the progression the reward... it's the fact that the last progression reward they earned was SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND points ago.
  • I agree with OP. They should look to their statistics and arrange the progression rewards in a better way.
