I think most of us are sticking around because: a) we enjoy the basic game play, b) we see the (as yet unrealised) potential of this game.
  • I like it less than I used to and I have stopped giving them money. But yes, the very basic premise of the game I still enjoy.

From IceIX's posts in the past it seems like most if not all of the devs have their own accounts they also play. I wonder if they even like their own game with all the changes they've made lately which encourage grinding in pve and frustration/monotony in pvp. Despite the new episode introducing sentry recently, the game has gotten pretty repetitive and boring.

Well, why that would be different than other of Ice's info handout, some element of truth and the rest, well...

Yes, probably the devs have an account, why not. They also probably play some minutes.

I'm absoultely sure not one played a full tournament in the last several months on an established account. (Possibly they create a new account and play on that -- we have a ton of reports from players here that the alt account fares pretty well.)

"gotten pretty repetitive and boring" sounds like saying Catina came with some wind.

I still like it. I've only been at it about 4 months, and the alliance thing sure puts a grind to it, but I've sat and played other match-3s to death, and this is the most engaging one I've found to date.

If you're just super-competitive and winning is paramount to all, then I can definitely see how the game would give you fits. But if you just need something to just sit and play for a couple hours while the TV is on, it's still pretty fun.

I realize often repetitive = boring, but I'll explain why I included both in this instance. The game is set up to be repetitive, so there's nothing ground-breaking there. You fight an endless stream of thug/Ares/Bullseye/Venom/etc. in PvE, and the same teams in PvP over and over. Since it's couched in matching tiles, using abilities, and competition, it's generally still fun to do keep doing it. However recently I have gotten bored while playing and just decided to set the game down instead of grinding for more points in whatever format I'm doing at the time.
